I don't usually write reviews but due to all the work I've done lately, I don't think I could have finished without OfficeMax so I had to let Yelp know. Recently, I've had quite a number of files to print and documents to copy. I had tried all sorts of places and found that OfficeMax uses the best paper and the ink on the page is never faded. Most importantly, they have the best prices. The print center cycles through a few different employees but one employee, Charles Harkey, would always greet me when I came in and helped me every time I asked. I enjoy shopping in stores where employees make a conscious effort to connect to the customers and because of that (along with the good prices), I'll continue to shop and do all of my printing here. read more

I was very pleasantly surprised with the customer service I received here. Back in July I purchased a 2 pack of ink. Long story short my printer busted & I've been dragging my feet about going back to the store & returning it. At first, I was told I couldn't return it because I had opened the package & tried to use the ink (even though no ink was actually used). I then decided to ask if they could just recycle it as I had no use for it. Upon opening the package, the cashier discovered one of the inks was unopened so he said he could give me back half of what I paid. I was thrilled! Then the manager came over in order to do the return, begun the process for half, & then decided since I was a rewards member he would just give me the full refund. They have definitely earned my business & I am so glad I chose to be a rewards member. Great customer service!! read more

I wish I could name all of the people that helped in getting my real estate fliers printed, but what I can say is that the entire team is dedicated to delivering excellent customer service! From the gentleman I spoke with on the phone, to Jenny (in print), to the manger that assisted while I was at the store, they all went above and beyond to make sure I was satisfied. This store uses others unused rewards money. I had 40$ in my rewards certificate someone from the store used( i believe).Then I called the customer service got back again 40$ in my rewards. This also someone used.I went and bought my printer and copy paper got 20$ rewards. That also someone used. I am very badly disappointed by this.Would like to give 0 stars. read more

I use to turn in all my cartridges here for $2.00 credit each. It was really cool when your business usses about 4 a month. We had stocked up some 50 of them when there was no one working here who could go turn them in. I turned in about 30 of them and got $60.00 in their rewards points. Then they changed their policy to be $1.00 per cartride and only to be used the same day they are turned in. I am a total hater of this new policy as it is so majorly depressing. Was looking for a set of earbuds for an earpiece. They sold new sets with music earbuds for double the cost I found them for on the manufactures website. Wish I could rant and rave about this company because but all the office places seem the same. Still looking for one to impress me. read more

I am very impressed with OfficeMax in Livermore for their computer customer service. Clark has shown over and above customer care in servicing my computer. His assistance and knowledge of computers is very evident and I highly recommend this OfficeMax and Clark for your computer issues. read more

It's a good place to get office supplies, but not for office furniture etc. They have the stuff that even office depot doesn't have.

I too would not normally go out of my way to review this type of business but I was treated so well at a recent visit that I definitely wanted to let others know. I was lucky enough to have Charles Harkey helping me and he went over and above the call of duty. I was having a problem with printer and he personally made sure that I was taken care of and the problem resolved. The store personnel are great. It is their Tech Department that is not worth your time or money. I purchased two computer and two printers in November and I paid $338 to have them come to my home to set up the computers and the printers,move my files from my old computer to my new computer and instal Microsoft 2010 on my new computers. Lo-o-ong story short -- after two techs coming to my home -- I ended up with one printer NOT being set up and there was NO RECORD of my new network password or the password for the Microsoft software. To add to my dissatisfaction it turns out I was also advised to purchase a new router that I didn't need. In the end it was my daughter that set up the second printer and identify the missing passwords. She was able to do everything in 45 minutes and didn't need the new router. If you just want to purchase office supplies, the staff is wonderful. read more

Dont bother with this place. Their problems become your problems. Bought a kindle less than a yeat ago and got the two year replacement policy with it. It stopped charging, so i went in to get my replacement kindle. No kindles in stock. No kindles at nearby stores. I asked for a refund instead. They offered me a store credit. Dont want the store credit because they dont have any kindles. Anyway, i finally did get thru to their warranty dept and they will send me a check...but i have to wait for them to send me an envelope to send the broken kindle back in and then once they receive it they will send me a check. Couldnt this all have been handled at the store. Im using amazon in the future. read more

Today I went in to return a digital camera which took horrible pictures. I purchased it for my daughter, so she could take it on field trips and enjoy the memories. However, I saw a camera I liked better at Target (and they did not have at OfficeMax) and purchased there it knowing I would return the other one at OfficeMax. The clerk(s) at OfficeMax told me I couldn't return digital cameras, and it said so on the receipt. My daughter remembers specifically that the clerk we purchased if from said we could return it! I asked to speak to the manager, but unfortunately he was "on a conference call"...yeah, right! While I tried as hard as I could to return it, all I got from them was a blank stare and finally, a "you could call Nikon" response. I told those 2 clerks that I felt sorry for them that they worked for such a horrible store where customer service means nothing. I could've purchased the camera anywhere else and received my money back with no questions asked. Guess what - I will never EVER step foot in that store again...and I said so as I left, warning other people to not buy there. Turns out there are also many many complaints online for OfficeMax - just "google" it. read more

I've never had any problems here. There is no competition around here, so not many choices for us in Livermore. Not the largest selection, but they have the general office supplies. I get all of my good stuff through Amazon. read more

They should tell you when you buy electronics from there store you have 14 days to return it. My husband bought me a garmin for my bday and when I finally was able to use it the directions were never accurate. He bought the 1 year protection plan as well. I went to return it and we had paid cash and had the receipt. The "manager" said at first I had to get a store credit since it was passed the 14 days after I explained how it didn't work he decided to give me cash back but only for the garmin not the protection plan. He said those are not refundable even though no where on the receipt or in store is this published. He said your lucky i'm returning anything for you. I would never recommend buying anything from this place. read more

Very disappointed with the services my boss received. He went to get some items printed in mass quantities and he was given such a hard time. First he was told they would have our items ready by 12pm on the following business day because the employee couldnt figure out how to use the programs that she should have been properly trained on. When my employer arrived they were not ready because apparently they lost our original files and some how they got deleted. And instead of a courtesy call to inform us my boss arrives being told it was deleted. So then he had to drive back to the office to drive back to officemax to get the documents printed. Then they were having issues with programs, the printer, the way the items were printing etc. My boss stayed his entire lunch trying to figure the situation out (over 2 hours). And in the end they charged him full price for everything and didn't even bother to make the situation better by i don't know...maybe not charging for "cutting" the items.... when it was there fault to begin with. We are both very upset because we use officemax for alot of our office needs and shop there products but it looks like they might have just lost a long time customer! read more

this is not a rip on the livermore store but rather on office max in general concerning the elf yourself download app...it doesn't work more than once !! hey, i paid $5 for 5 downloads and i can't watch it more than once ?? posted on facebook and only the bottom half shows, then it freezes !?!?? wtf ??? get it together om, doesn't look good for the it guys you employ !! read more
