I was able to utilize the online services. I was in & out rather quickly. I walked to the printing center, gave them my name and received my documents immediately. I went browsing for a document folder and fortunately there was a staff member in the same aisle stocking. I didn't catch his name but he stopped what he was doing, asked me if he could help me find something and walked me over to the exact product! Awesomeness! The only thing I would change would be the pick up time. I ordered my copies before they opened and had to wait till 7pm to pick up 10 pieces of paper. Wish they had a system like target where they give you a two hour window till your order is ready and if it ready before that they text or email you. Other than that service was great read more

Amazing Service from Caysha in the printing deportment. She was super nice and very helpful, had us take our time and help with all our questions. We needed to print out an email and fax our documents to Oahu. We also wanted to make a personalized stamp. They have 5 different types and I need one as soon as possible. So they have one that they make in the store but because of the time frame, it would be done by tonight or tomorrow morning. As we worked on our documents to be faxed, Caysha was secretly working on getting our stamp done before we cashed out. We were so very happy to get everything done in the time frame that we had, as we live on Oahu and we are here for a family member who is in the hospital. She even comforted us and shared her personal story's of loss. Thank you Caysha for your help and aloha today. It was greatly appreciated. We also let the manager kristy know what a great job Caysha has done. I went in to print funeral programs for my grandma's service & was helped by Kaila in the printing center. She was very kind & super helpful. She helped me get a lot done but due to me missing some of the items I needed to print I was unable to finish the program that day. So I said I'd be back the following day & she said she'd be working that day as well. I said I'll ask for her. I did end up going back but later than expected. When I asked for her, the worker said she had just clocked out. I was a little bummed out because she already knew my situation & project and I really didn't want to re-explain it to someone else. Then another worker there named Kristin offered to help me & as I was explaining to her my project Kaila came & continued to explain to Kristin where I left off. She's amazing! She then let me know I was in good hands with Kristin & left work. Kristin proceeded to finish all the printing & constantly checked in with me to make sure it was as I wanted it. There were a couple problems-not her fault it was the actual printer. Which she fixed immediately & continued. With the job complete she rung me up. She was the most kind hearted & sincere person. I bought an Ethernet cable here one month ago and even though it hasn't been touched or moved since plugging it in, now it doesn't work anymore:( Only 4 weeks later after purchasing! 2 parking lots over you can easily find any Ethernet cable you need at Target for a cheaper price AND you can get a $3 2-yr protection plan, bringing the total to STILL CHEAPER than office max!!! I find it crazy that four different people can ask me if I need help finding something, which I would certainly never admit to, and yet when there is a line at the register they just have one person ringing people up. Best retail experience I can remember, really. Went there for an office chair, TONY saw me testing chairs, came right up to me, the rest is history. He matched the online price which I pointed out was less than the in-store sale price. He retrieved the chair I wanted from the flippin rafters. He made sure checkout person, Lydia (lovely, friendly, helpful), was aware to honor the online price. Tony informed me of the warrantee, which I purchased. Tony then assembled my chair in less than 1/2 hr. Usually they ask you come back the next day for your assembled chair. Three employees, including a manager, helped me to my truck and loaded the chair in pouring rain. "helped me" are the wrong words...I didn't lift a finger! Everyone there cared about me and my chair! Huge disconnect between what they say on phone and what they actually do. Called to arrange for some letter size 20lb copy paper to be delivered. Said all was good and it was even on sale, so order and pay online, specify pick up in-store and in the notes put the delivery information. Since our office is in Hilo there was free delivery for orders over $50. Contacted our bookkeeper for approval since OfficeMax was a new vendor for us. All is well so went online found Office Depot Copy Paper on sale so ordered to cases to get free delivery. On website there was no apparent option for in store pick up and shipping was $44. So figured I must have made a mistake so started over and clicked on link for free delivery and got two screens of verbiage with no way to order from that screen. Finally decided to call back. First person who picked up transferred me to a manager because "you seem upset." Explained frustration to manager, she got on her computer and informed me that OfficeMax now resolves to Officedepot.com told her about the paper I wanted and she said that they do not carry OfficeDepot 20-pound copy paper. but I could get another brand for more $10 more delivered. So I agreed to that. She then says that the more-expensive paper could not be ordered or paid for online. So I offer to giver her my credit card number over the phone. She refuses "for my protection." So I offer to have our office give it to the delivery driver. Nope can't do that either. So I clarify that the instructions that I was given to order and pay online for free delivery were actually impossible instructions to follow. She denies that I was every told I could have free delivery. So I inform her that she has wasted about an hour of my time, hang-up and make arrangements with the office to pick up the paper directly. read more

I called to ask if there was a Samsung Evo 500GB SSD in stock. First I was on hold for almost 20 minutes so I decided I would drive down (and stay on the phone at the same time), when I was pulling into the parking lot I was connected with a guy on the phone that didn't listen to what I was asking for, he kept saying we don't have a samsung phone.... Then he connected me to a girl that said she only worked in the print center and didn't know anything about computer equipment. This was fair enough and can understand, sometimes big box stores don't cross train people in other departments. She connected me to a different girl that said she had to get someone in the tech field to answer that question. The 4th girl knew what I was asking for and asked someone else to see if they had one in stock. She said they had 3. I went into the store and they had none. Very frustrating to go into a store that doesn't even know what they sale or how the ability to check accurately. I'll just stick with new egg and Amazon from now on. read more

Wow what a frustrating place to have any work done I don't recommend anyone doing anything there they don't deserve your business. Actually no one cares who works there about the problems that are causing other people. I was told to come back for printing several times in one day and I did as they said and then they said they were sorry but it wasn't ready and that they would call me tomorrow morning but of course no one called the next day. Then when I tried to call the store I called five times no one answered from the print shop or the regular business which is amazing. And finally when I got a hold of someone I told them that I wanted to talk to someone in the print shop and I told this person that they are not answering their phone and she said there's nothing she could do. yeah had to write up another crappy OfficeMax Hilo story from a friend... he saw some reams of paper clearly marked top and bottom with signs proclaiming what a great deal it was... he noticed it didn't ring up at that sale price... when questioned, the clerk told him, "oh that's not the paper that's on sale, it's this paper over here." To which my friend replied "well why are the signs over here and not over there?" and walked out. friggin' crooks. see my earlier reviews if you need to read many many more examples of the same BS. SAVINGS TIP: Because I have come to hate this Hilo location, here's a tip to get better prices....order off the national officemax website and then at the end select pick up in store: but make sure you don't pick your local store or enter your zip code until you've got the item in your cart at the low initial price... then choose pick up in store and enter your zip code etc and you still get the low nationally advertised price. However once you have entered your zip code it is stored in a "cookie" and when you go to look at the item again it will show you all higher prices on everything. To get back to the lower nationally advertised prices you have to delete the Office Max cookie in your browser and it will go back to showing the original lower prices again. Once you get the item in your cart the price will not change. read more

Earlier this week, my mom and I went to OfficeMax to look for a Christmas present for my brother. We found two computers, but couldn't decide on which one to get. Orlando, a salesperson, was very helpful and assisted us in figuring out what was different between the two computers and in determining which was better. OfficeMax is very pricy. Especially when Walmart and Target are an arm throw away and often have similar items way cheaper. I think office max is great if you need a very specific item not available other places. Although I will say I did get a great price on some office furniture. read more

With all the workers there...behind the desk... rarely do they make eye contact with you just to let you know they see you and will be with you after they are done. I work in retail and we make a note to acknowledge no matter how busy we are. We apologize for the wait but we will be with you as soon as we can or have the company invest in those number machines like the meat market so the customers can take a number. It is nerve whracking when you have a million things to do and customers are standing there glaring @ you for help or just waiting like me...several minutes with no acknowledgement seems like hours=/ read more

This place is swarming with workers, everywhere you look. The first associate stopped and acknowledged us by staring at us and hearing our question, just to walk away on his phone. The second associate rudely stopped us in mid question to inform us he couldn't help us because he wasn't on the clock. Seemed like every time we attempted to stop and ask another worker, they seemed uninterested or too busy to bother. We finally were able to get somebodies attention and ask about the item we were looking for. He told us they were out of them but expected to get a shipment this Friday. When I asked for a rain check he said they weren't giving them out for that item. When I said it was one of the only items in the advertisement that didn't state "while supplies last, no rain checks given" he shrugged and said no. If it weren't for their weekend ad I would never have wasted my time here anyway. read more
