To be honest, I was sorta shocked that there wasn't a UPS Store in Hilo town…read more Whenever I travel for work, it's not uncommon for me when I fly to the neighbor islands that I pack alot of gear, & parts. After using my parts, I like to ship out the broken parts back to the mainland, that way I can avoid having to haul it back to Oahu. I have used the UPS Store in Kona, but since I was working in Hilo this time, the closest UPS Store was in Pahoa. Located at a small strip mall called "Puna Kai Shopping Center", you can find this little UPS Store just a stones throw from a McDonald's. Lots of free parking at the strip mall, so access is pretty easy. I walked into the store and was greeted right away. The friendly clerk processed my package, & gave me my receipt, and off I went. Although Pahoa is a little drive from Hilo town, at least this UPS Store provided a very valuable service to the Big Island community.

Started…read moreat "Mail with Us" in Hilo and the owner there was very sweet but let us know she doesn't package items and told us to go up UPS store in Pahoa. Okay....the brilliant thing is that they were so sweet and helpful in UPS - they gave us all the UPS shipping options and prices which were higher than ideal for us...we also thought about a box to check them with the airline and that wasn't going to work...and then our lovely employee helper came up with the brilliant idea to bubble wrap them, put them in a trash bag and secure that and it could go with us as checked baggage. Would we have thought of that? Maybe. But it would have taken awhile. Could we have done it cheaper by going to Home Depot and buying the supplies? Maybe. Were we right there and the price was right? Definitely. So she let us know she had a couple of other things to get shipped out so it would be about 20-30 minutes. No problem. Went over to the grocery store, got some lunch, ate at the outdoor picnic tables in the center, then went back & it was all ready to go. And shout out to Hawaiian Airlines for it only costing the regular luggage cost of $40 and it arrived in pristine shape at the large roll-up door at Oakland airport. Thank you so much, UPS Pahoa!

I'm so happy that there was a UPS Store in Waimea town!…read more Driving from Kailua-Kona to Honoka'a, then making my last stop in Waimea, upon having lunch at the Parker Ranch Food Court, I noticed this UPS Store just a few doors down from the food court. Being that I had (5) boxes of broken parts I needed to send back state side, this UPS Store sure was a lifesaver! As I walked into the store I asked one of the clerks if I could borrow a hand truck, that way I could load up all my (5) boxes & bring it into the store one crack! I must say the staff here was friendly, and more than accommodating. The service here was efficient, as the clerk processed my (5) boxes quickly. One of my boxes wasn't packed up yet, as I ran out of shipping tape, but the nice thing about coming to this UPS Store is that they sold shipping supplies. I purchased a small roll of shipping tape, and I gotta say it was sorta pricey, but the convenience factor reflects the price you pay here. If I'm working in Waimea again, it's nice to know that there's a UPS Store here, that way it saves me a trip from having to go down to Kailua-Kona, or to Pahoa town.

We have mailboxes by our home, but not enough…read moreboxes for packages, so we use to have to go stand in line at the Post Office in Pahoa for packages. Now we just go to Aloha Mail and get our mail and packages, and everyone there is always smiling. If we are out of town, they hold our mail for us there - just have to let them know. Aloha Mail is the best option for us and we love the staff too! Highly recommend them.

When receiving packages, they will text you with a photo, tracking # and time they received it. They don't mail out anything, but great for receiving your mail and Amazon orders! Good location and parking is never a problem.

The staff is friendly and competent and if there is a problem they go the extra mile to solve it. Their rates are reasonable and kupuna get a discount. They are ALOHA Mail for a reason. If I had to find a fault it would be the crazy parking lot (not much they can do about that) and their somewhat limited hours but it's a fair trade off for the service that they deliver.
