Right away, Edison identified an issue with my weight distribution using the smart2move plates. I had no idea I was loading my weight much too late in the swing. He also taught me several techniques to create more swing width and make a fuller turn without sacrificing control. I knew my angle of attack wasn't where it needed to be, but after just one lesson I saw a noticeable improvement. The lesson is located at Boulder Creek which i found was a private gold course right hidden in back next past Almaden Lake. I saw turkeys coming in and a coyote and deer on the way out. So awesome!! It was kind of a cold day, foggy, but was beautiful on the course and luckily warmed up throughout the lesson. U can park then make ur way to the range which is the walk way in front of parking lots. Sean is so nice and friendly and makes u feel great even when the ball goes awry. He helped me correct my swing so I'm rotating and using my whole torso/body instead of just my arms. Also my stance and grip. This was my first lesson and we already saw improvement in how far the ball was hit! I would def recommend Sean and will be back for more lessons!!

I asked a number of people I knew from the Baylands Golf Links (where Dan teaches!) and they all said that Dan was the instructor they had selected. That was good enough for me. i have only had one lesson with Dan, and I already have my love for the game back! What I appreciate about Dan is that he likes to keep it simple and help you focus on one thing. That allowed me to get out of my head and focus on my set-up and swing. There will be more to learn, and I plan to take more lessons, but for now I am working on practicing the swing he set me up to have. With Dan you will not get a ton of input on mechanics. He is looking at you and your swing, then helping that swing to improve. His philosophy of everyone having their own swing and learning to embrace that swing within their own body makes a ton of sense to me and is far more motivating and enjoyable when I practice. I am very happy to report that Matt Lacues is an awesome instructor. He is patient and explains everything in a way that is easy to understand. He is thoughtful of my limitations but still compliments on what I skill I still have. I also have to add that he takes his time going over each steps/changes so you don't feel rushed. I've watched him with younger golfers and he is great with them as well. Each time I see them with Matt, they seem to be having fun but still learning lots of different ways to improve their game. I am looking forward to my next lesson with him and I am enjoying golf even more with some of the simple changes he's made. Thanks Matt!

He'll probably take a day to get back to you via email and will send a calendar invite for the lesson once confirmed. Phil was my instructor for one of the many group lessons I took at Stanford campus. He still instructs there but also offers private lessons. On his website, he claims to specialize in short game which was the other reason besides the familiarity for why I chose to go with him. Phil is super friendly and talkative, mixing different analogies with personal stories, yet not so much as to make you feel like you're wasting time listening to things that may not help your game. Within a few minutes of in the bunker, I already was able to hit it out with enough height and sand. That was an immense confidence booster. I went on the next day to shoot 86 at Poppy Hills, making it the first time I broke 90. Granted, I only had 1 bunker shot, the concepts he introduced in the bunker carried over to when we spent the last portion of class working on 40 yard chip/pitch shots by request. These short game elements really helped me to make a few key up and downs that kept my score low. Now, it's just more practice to make shooting in the 80s a consistent theme! Thanks, Phil!
