I went in the small pro shop and it was cozy and the person at the counter was very friendly and cooperative. They have push carts too. They also have amenities such as a putting and chipping area, a practice range area (kind of), a ball washer and a club washer and more. The place was a little busy, but not crowded. The course looked beautiful and well maintained. My first impressions were that it was very laid back and easy, which is great for beginners with a lot of par 4s and 3s. The price was affordable which is a plus. Side note, this is only a 9 hole course. This course also has a lot of obstacles like sand traps and water hazards, which makes the game more challenging and fun at the same time. There was a lot of natural landscape, which is a plus with trees, rivers, etc. I played the nine holes and this is a great charming little golf course with well maintained fairways and greens with friendly staff and a charm to it with personality.

It's just that, given how this place is in Cupertino, which I've always been quite fond of, I guess I just thought this course would stand out when, in hindsight, it's probably perfectly fine for what it is. Compared to some of the other courses my friends and I have played around the Bay Area, Deep Cliff is rather unique in its own way. As an executive course, made up entirely of par-3's and par-4's, the full 18 isn't particularly lengthy, which is great for beginners and/or anyone trying to get in a quick round. Yet, while it plays pretty fair for the most part, it still offers some challenges, with the creek/water hazards appearing on several holes, prominent bunkers fronting several holes (especially on the 18th), numerous tree lined fairways that create a narrow feel, and areas that are a bit more wooded, especially along the edge that runs next to an open green space. Despite how some of Deep Cliff's unique features are largely positive, they can cut the other way, too. For example, while all of those trees create some much appreciated shade when it's warm and sunny, those wooded areas are also home to wildlife that will occasionally wander onto the course. Awesome to see, but it can lead to some (understandable) pauses in play as you wait for the deer and the like to clear out. Thankfully, that didn't happen to us and we were here on a weekday, so our pace of play was still pretty steady. However, between that and how short some of the holes are, I can see the course getting bogged down on weekends when there are that many more folks around. As for everything else Deep Cliff has to offer, their facilities and amenities are decent enough. Our cart was serviceable and clean, the pro shop was fine, and their onsite restaurant looked like a nice spot to grab a post-round beer. That said, certain aspects could've been better. At a couple of points, it didn't feel intuitive as to where we should go (the worker at the desk gave us some confusing directions for where the first tee box was) and, most notably, the driving "range" was more like a bunch of netting that you hit into (I know they're limited on space, but still). All in all, even though I'm only giving three stars, I actually think Deep Cliff's three and a half star average is more accurate. It's a solid option for anyone just getting started, as well as more experienced golfers looking to work on their irons or short game, and their rates aren't too shabby. Since it's a bit of a drive from us, though, coming back would be more for a change of pace than as part of our rotation. However, I'm sure we'll be back down the line...and when we do, it'll be with a more appropriate set of expectations that just might lead to an improved review! Until then, THREE AND A HALF STARS rounded down for now.

They told us to move quickly because there was people waiting for us on the tee box which was false . The group behind us was 4 holes behind us. Titleist and TaylorMade were running a promotion of buy 3 and the fourth would be free. I asked the clerk if it was still active. He said yes, but only if I order online. They then would have to pull it from stock and stack it on will call rack. Asked, since I am here now, can I pull it and he ring it. Said was against store policy. Asked if he could check with manager, he did and manager refused to change policy. He was apologetic, but didn't want to lose his job. This was not an outlandish ask, the store wasn't busy and required no effort from the staff. They watched $400 walk out the door. Their management is dumb as rocks. Went to Golf Galaxy and they had no problem with the 3 for 1 at the counter. Will address with corporate as we really want to shop here but not with current management team that is not customer centric.

Yes, good enough to explore all items and prices. Not bad at all. If you need help, there's employees willing to assist as needed. Taylormade & Callaway brands always stands out. Very lightweight bags here. Irons, putters, wedges, drivers, etc. all looks and feels great. Not cheap in some aisles, but I'm definitely loving all the clearance items now. Very cool. Parking lot size was huge, so it was an easy way in and out no hassles.

On a busy Sunday afternoon, that meant that many parties were waiting for the one in front to complete their round before they could proceed. You can skip as needed but the courses are designed to get progressively harder so going in order is the recommended option. The mats where you tee up the ball were mostly worn down and should be replaced, but the rest of the equipment were relatively well maintained. Inside is an arcade and a concession bar in case you need to fuel up. In order to take advantage of certain promotions, like the 3 and under golf for free, you need to download the app first which is a bit inconvenient but at least you get to save $17.50.

I remember buying a set of kids golf clubs as well. I have seemed to have forgotten it, and left it on the counter. The sales associate was nice enough to literally run after us all the way down the parking lot and gave us our item. We definitely come here on a regular to check out golf stuff. I know they also do re-gripping for your golf club grips, but it's best to call ahead.

Like other reviews, it was very chaotic. The fitter didn't explain anything about the process. No recommendations on shafts, weights, or adjustments, and when I asked what he suggested, he literally told me to "just let the club figure it out." That's not what a fitting is supposed to be. I had to keep asking questions just to get the most basic answers, and even then I got more useful advice from the friend I brought with me than from the actual fitter. I ended up buying a set of clubs, but I walked out feeling unsure if I even got the right setup. For such an expensive purchase, that's unacceptable. If you're expecting professional guidance and expertise, don't waste your time here. Nothing personal against the guy as he was a nice person. I just spoke with a buddy about my experience and he was shocked because he just got fitted at club champion and they did so many other things to help him select the best setup.
