Michael hasn't been very responsive. I've been trying to get lessons with him but it's been about a week and no luck yet.

When I started with Matt only 7 months ago, I was a brand new beginner. I had had a few lessons…read morefrom another outfit that were not very helpful for me. I called that other company's teaching approach Painting by Numbers because it wasn't cohesive and intuitive for me. Also, Matt gives full hour-long lessons versus the other company that only did half hour lessons which I found to be way too short so I ended up having a fractured and incomplete understanding of the golf swing. I'm over 60 years old and a slender woman. So I don't have bulk muscle for strength. Learning how to strike the ball correctly gives me the distance. Matt teaches with intuitive, cohesive instruction and shows (sometimes with props) as well as explains why certain aspects of the swing are important so that logically it all makes sense. He is such a gifted teacher to help all the details gel without my feeling its overly analytical. Proof of his teaching is I started out hitting my 7 iron 42 yards on the Trackman and am now hitting 122 yards dead straight. Also when I started out I didn't have the ball striking skills to play18 hole courses, only 9 hole courses. I recently scored 110, 112, and 114 on a par 72 course. When people learn I've only golfed for 10 months total, they can't believe it. When they ask who is my coach, I happily share about Matt being the best ever and why. Matt is confident that I will soon be breaking 100. I can't wait!

If your child is playing competitive junior golf, you know how hard it is to get them to practice…read moreintentionally. We discovered The Golf Garage after noticing that some of the top players in our 9-year-old son's tournaments were training here. Booking a lesson with Mike was the best decision we've made for his game. This is not just hitting balls into a screen. Mike combines video analysis, TrackMan data, and advanced AI to compare your child's swing mechanics directly against the ideal blueprint. The impact was instant. Instead of mindlessly pounding balls at a traditional driving range, our son completely changed his approach. He slows down, uses the video feedback to check his setup, hits the ball, and then walks over to the computer to analyze his data. He craves that instant feedback, and it has taught him incredible discipline. The results speak for themselves. After working with Mike for just a short time, our son has gained at least one club length on his irons and a massive 30+ yards on his driver. While you can never completely replace playing on real grass, The Golf Garage is absolutely the missing piece for elite, data-driven training. If you want your kid to truly compete and win, go see Mike.

In an effort to hit more fairways and lower my handicap, I had unknowingly shortened my swing, which was costing me distance. Right away, Edison identified an issue with my weight distribution using the smart2move plates. I had no idea I was loading my weight much too late in the swing. He also taught me several techniques to create more swing width and make a fuller turn without sacrificing control. I knew my angle of attack wasn't where it needed to be, but after just one lesson I saw a noticeable improvement. In my very next round, I was back to hitting drives around 280 yards total, and I felt much more confident standing over the ball. I highly recommend Edison. His attention to detail, ability to explain the "why" behind the changes, and patience throughout the lesson made a huge difference. If you're looking to improve your swing and build confidence, he's an outstanding instructor.

What really stood out was the attention to detail and patience--no rushing, just focused coaching tailored to your game. If you're serious about improving your golf game, whether you're a beginner or experienced player, this is absolutely worth it. Highly recommend!

You can feel it when rolling in for parking and the parking lots is usually nearly full on weekday mornings before 10am. Very motivating to see small and large groups of folks enjoying their games and Vitamin D sunlight out here. Driving range is always busy and club house area is nice and shady to relax or chill out. Yes, 9-hole games are usually a breeze and easy to walk around, but reaching the 10th hole and afterwards can become much more challenging, especially with long walks. The banquet area has good spaces for events. Gorgeous up there. People tend to speed when driving into the parking lot, so just be cautious. Not far from retailers/restaurants/etc. Very decent. It's the good vibes that keeps me coming back to play with the groups. Nice.

You've now lost my business permanently. The last two weekends I made the mistake of booking tee times at 8:30am and 7:30am on a Saturday. I tried booking an hour earlier the second time to see if it would help, it didn't. My time is too precious after working hard all week and taking care of my family to come and play 5.5 hour rounds, sitting at the tee box for 20-25 min between shots waiting for two groups to clear in front of me. I'd rather driver further and pay more to save an hour of my life and this frustration each weekend. See you again never.

We started off at the range, where they gave a trackman style system where you can see how far you hit your shots, which is great if you are trying to dial in your yardage for each of your clubs. The range itself isn't super long, and when I hit my first driver shot, I got a message saying out of bounds, staff notified. Safe to say, I put the driver away for the rest of the practice session lol Now onto the course.... This has to be one of the prettiest courses in the Bay that I've played. I mean the views from virtually every hole provide a look at the unique landscape of its surroundings. It definitely lives up to that boulder in its name because they have beautiful rock formations all over the course that adds to its beauty. As for playing the course, this course is pretty tough! Lots of blind tee shots, narrow fairways, tight greens, it definitely challenges you physically and mentally throughout all 18 holes. The greens were super quick, and rolled true, which honestly for me, are the best type of greens to putt on. If you can score well on this course, you are probably a good golfer. If you aren't a great golfer, bring lots of golf balls lol Also, get a golf cart here because walking up and down these hills would be draining, especially on a hot day. Overall, I loved this course. From the manicured greens and fairways, to its challenging nature, it's definitely a course I can't wait to get to play again.

What a great golf course!…read more As a Bay Area native, I've always passed this golf course driving in the Almaden area and said, man I want to play there. That day finally happened! I was invited to play for a tournament for a friends company event. I think that this golf course from hole 1-18 is one of the most unique in the Bay Area. I'll highlight 1 section in particular.... The boulder section. You drive through a section of holes where you are taken through a different world. Almost feels like you are on a beautiful excursion in a different country going through these amazingly huge and beautiful boulders. It's almost as if you walked into Star Wars lad at Disney for the first time... except, your on a golf course. I hope that makes sense haha! Super super cool and well designed course with a good amount of challenging holes even for an average golfer! Id recommend this to the public, but it is a private course so you'll have to know someone to get out there. If you do know someone, bring them a gift if they take you out here. It's so worth it! Giving 4 stars because I've played some really really nice golf courses. This place is 4.2-.4.4 in my overall rating. Great job!

Odd layout with a lot of back and forth between holes. Total yardage is only around 5000-5400 due to 9 par 3s (par 68 course), but long par 5s and distances between a couple of holes make the course deceptively long especially if walking. 3. The local homeless population. Coyote Creek Trail runs through the course and you may see some homeless + their dogs walking along the cart paths adjacent to the creek. I've never had a problem, but one may want to be aware if leaving golf carts unattended. Has a two-tier driving range with range buckets priced similarly to other driving ranges around San Jose, with TopTracer being installed within the past couple of years. Conditions are fair for a muni course. Water features make things interesting. Holes 4, 6, 9, and 18 offer challenges and are my favorites. Pace of play is usually good on the weekdays (3-3.5 hr). Definitely worth playing if you can find a GolfNow deal or twilight. Staff has always been friendly.

I work at a health club in Santa Cruz and have always wondered what it would be like to try out a gym I don't work at. The equipment was pretty nice and it was not busy at 3:30pm. It was easy to do a day pass and the other members kept to themselves. They have nice locker rooms (bring your own lock) and seem like a great place over all :) there are no classes but if weight lifting and cardio are your interests it is a solid place to be.

My main issue with this facility is a specific group of members that have started to come in. There is a large group of people who come in to work with a husband/wife team of independent trainers. The trainers are rude and take up tons of equipment that they do not actively use- like they are trying to reserve it for their future use. When you ask them if you can work in or if they are using something they are rude and look at you like you are insane for even talking to them. This group of people act like they are the only people in the gym and completely lack awareness and any etiquette. They leave weights on machines, don't wipe anything down, and leave huge messes in the restrooms. My other issue is the amount of recording that they do- the gym has now banned the use of free standing tripods (great) but now they are using other pieces of equipment to prop their phones up on and record their workouts. On top of that- there is no regard or awareness for someone in the back of their video. I know that I have been in the back of their recordings, which I do not want to be, and have asked them multiple times to move their phones or not record and they are just rude about it and start talking crap. I have taken these issues to the front desk staff and management. No one does anything about it. I brought it up to the girl at the front desk this past weekend and she basically told me that because they are bringing in so much business they can do what they want. If that is the case then this business clearly does not value all of its members equally.
