I got my starting golf set from the store as they had a sale. The sales associate don't try to haggle you and they are really asking genuinely if you need help. I remember buying a set of kids golf clubs as well. I have seemed to have forgotten it, and left it on the counter. The sales associate was nice enough to literally run after us all the way down the parking lot and gave us our item. We definitely come here on a regular to check out golf stuff. I know they also do re-gripping for your golf club grips, but it's best to call ahead. read more

I went to Golf Galaxy for a club fitting and it was a complete waste of time. The fitter barely gave me any attention, kept walking away to help the new staff in training. Like other reviews, it was very chaotic. The fitter didn't explain anything about the process. No recommendations on shafts, weights, or adjustments, and when I asked what he suggested, he literally told me to "just let the club figure it out." That's not what a fitting is supposed to be. I had to keep asking questions just to get the most basic answers, and even then I got more useful advice from the friend I brought with me than from the actual fitter. I ended up buying a set of clubs, but I walked out feeling unsure if I even got the right setup. For such an expensive purchase, that's unacceptable. If you're expecting professional guidance and expertise, don't waste your time here. Nothing personal against the guy as he was a nice person. I just spoke with a buddy about my experience and he was shocked because he just got fitted at club champion and they did so many other things to help him select the best setup. read more

I went in looking for a simple golf cart. The cheapest was over $300. It's a gold cart! The staff could barely be bothered talking to me they were so into talking to each other. Funny thing I just read other reviews that said the same thing. Glad they hire their friends but not quality sales people. They need a broader range of products. Not everyone who golfs wants to invest a small fortune for a minor convenience. At that price plus tax it would take roughly 65 rounds to get a return on my investment since renting a cart is $5 or free if you you're in a lesson for your round of golf. That's not a good value. From the moment I walked in, he made me feel comfortable and genuinely excited about getting my setup dialed in. James was incredibly knowledgeable--he clearly knows the ins and outs of club fitting, and took the time to explain the data and what it meant in simple, easy-to-understand terms. More importantly, he was patient. We went through multiple shaft and head combinations, tweaked lies and lofts, and even circled back to compare earlier options just to make sure everything was just right. I never once felt rushed. What really stood out was how much James genuinely cared about helping me find the right equipment for my swing, rather than pushing any brand or upsell. Came in to possibly buy a new set of irons. However, after 20 mins, there was still no-one to assist (and no staff walking around). The focus of the store appears to be on the fitting service in back, but just one checkout person in the front. It was a Saturday, so I thought it would have been staffed well. Felt like I was bothering the staff by asking for new driver recommendations. I was ready to get a driver, 3 wood and 5 wood. Paid for simulator time and asked for assistance. The staff would hand me a club and then walk away for literally 20 minutes to shoot the shit. Seemed like I was a bother to them. Ended up buying a Ping 440 driver, 3 wood and 5 wood at PGA superstore online just to make sure this location doesn't get the business. read more

Just left Golf Galaxy and what a great experience. The employees were helpful and friendly and so welcoming. William and Chris went above and beyond to help me get my clubs regripped while I waited because I had a tournament the next day and my grips were in desperate need. You guys are AWESOME. I bought a used driver a few days ago that had the previous owner tighten the screw in for the loft adjustment so tight that even Iron Man with the Infinity Stones can't remove it( or honestly, me because I didn't drink enough milk growing up). Worse yet, the screw was partially stripped because and rusted from the previous owner. Chris, Kiran, and Will all were kind enough to help me remove the screw and replace it with a new one the same day I brought it in. I love this golf galaxy location. Always good service and reliable information. I routinely come in and pay to use the simulator. My issue is that I notice almost every time I am there people come in and hit for free in the trackman bays. Today, one of the workers ACTUALLY encouraged it, saying "as long as there's no one there, you're all good", right in front of my bay as I was in listening distance. It's disheartening, I hope they clean this stuff up. I really enjoy coming and practicing at this location! Just want it to be fair for all customers. read more

I like this place because you can come in with your clubs, find an unoccupied bay and grab your numbers. Want to try something out? Ask for a demo unit. They have all kinds of stuff to see and play around with. Staff are super friendly and flexible. One time my dad bought a driver from them, and even though we were two days past the 90-day return policy they were kind enough to still take it in anyway because we were upgrading to a more fitted-driver. We saved a ton of money compared to the "trade-in program" stand point. I think we only had one bad experience where the Trackman was not calibrated correctly. Even though we asked one of the staff members to check it out, he just kept walking, shrugged, and said "it's just a machine. It calculates stuff." We went to a different bay and it was night and day. There was definitely something off about the first bay we went to. We did not appreciate how that staff member brush us off. They do price match, so if you find the same item online at a cheaper price, feel free to negotiate. I can't speak much to the shop out back or the coaching program there. I haven't used those services at all and cannot comment. As a general golf store, this place is nice. read more

Came here to look for my first set of golf clubs but since I'm a beginner, I wasn't sure what to go with. Kevin walked by and offered some assistance. I told him that I wasn't sure which clubs were best for me, and he kindly offered to take a look at how I swung the club. They looked a little bit busy so I was worried that I was taking too long, but never did he make me feel rushed and allowed me to take my time. I had good experiences here in the past 3 years until my recent visits. I was looking to replace my irons set. The store was understaffed, so I was helped by the store manager Steve, who could not be more judgmental and apathetic. He made me feel super unwelcome during all my visits. I'm not sure what's with the guy or if I did or said anything to him. I'm hoping it's not discrimination because I'm a young Asian woman. I'm sure I have not seen him acting friendly towards other customers or even the store employees. I've spent thousands of dollars here, however I feel unappreciated. Rude store associates are worse than rude customers. Please note that all other associates and the cashiers are friendly and helpful. Only reason they get one star cause I can't give zero. I came in to buy a new driver asked about TSR2, the Stealth and Paradym. I was blown off by 3 workers one who was sitting on a chair and 2 that were just talking to each other. So I go up to a desk and ask if anyone can help, the guy then mumbles something and I say what did you say? He says I have no one can help you with trying out those clubs right now you're gonna have to wait. Like I was gonna run out the store with 3 clubs. I walked out went to the competitor down the street and the gentleman there walked up to me asked me what I needed brought all 3 clubs to me set me up with a station to test them out and said let me know when you're done and left me alone until I bought the club I wanted. Take the extra minutes to go to the competitor worth the drive. Don't buy here. read more

My friend asked for changing the grip of his club. First, the staff working at this place, seems to intentionally ignore him, until he repeatedly requested a service. He got no information, no explanation, no recommendations what grip would fit better, the guy just did the work quietly and without any sight of customer services. My friend ended up with a too large grip as he started practicing with his club. Great disappointment for a nice looking shop, but no customer services at all. We will never return to this terrible shop. read more

I just had a really great experience today at Golf Galaxy in San Jose. They have a 90 day return policy that I took advantage of. I returned my complete set of TaylorMade clubs for a complete Cobra set of clubs. No questions asked. Kevin Becker attended to my needs and he was fantastic! The used club section can have some hidden gems for very good prices. They put their attire on sale occasionally and you can find some good shirts and pants/shorts for great prices. I'm always asked if I need help when I'm there and the practice area is always available, not the big simulators but the putting green and the "driving range" is always free. If you want to retain the distances and clubs used you have to pay to save that information but if you just want to practice hitting balls or a club you are interested in those bays are open and only once I went there and at least 1 wasn't available. The staff never come and tell me that I need to pay to use those bays or that I've been there too long. I really enjoy coming here and always feel welcome. read more

I went in for an appointment for a club fitting. Well it started off slow and got worse. The fitter was busy selling the earlier fitting with a lady his lessons plan and costs at Los Lagos. Needless to say my fitting started late. The fitter was trying to correct my swing rather than fitting me. It was able to last twenty minutes before I tired of his constant rhetoric and corrections. This was the worst experience I have ever had. But it is pretty consistent with fitters at golf box stores. I recommend never going to Golf Galaxy. On line works better and the prices are comparable or betters. read more

I just moved near here. I needed some balls and my lawd the service was bad. They don't know the difference between proV and Chrome soft. I then asked about the new launch of drivers out by ping and callaway, they didn't know the subtle differences except "ones less forgiving lol" Went to new Pga Store many more miles away from home but had better employees with extremely better golf knowledge. read more

Staff went over and above from the time I entered the store. I brought an older club to be repaired and shared that I had just broken a club I had bought online from Cobra. They looked at both clubs and with a little proof of purchase, came up with a plan that cost me about $40 to replace/repair both clubs. Excellent customer service! read more

My friend and I went to Golf Galaxy. I used to shop there for all my needs for golf. clubs, golf balls, shoes etc. this was when the store was called golf smith. Then they got bought out. and slowly the quality of the store as gone down tremendously. my friend went to go purchase a glove. he thought the price as 15 bucks or so. they said it was the wrong label and it was 27 more than what he wanted to pay for no big deal. so to he decide to go back and get a different one. while waiting. the cashier says to his co worker go make sure his not switching golf gloves in different packages. while that's hilarious to think that people steal gloves. not golf clubs but just the gloves is funny. on the other hand thought it was really disrespectful. knowing I've spent thousands at the store. I didn't think that was fair, especially if you see me and my friend walk into your store together. to bad was always a friendly environment. I would skip this place. i get the impression that they don't enjoy there job or golf maybe both. hope they improve. read more
