This is a very expensive Office Depot close to my house, and one which we tend to avoid because the prices are sick in a bad way, but that could be said about most office stores really and all locations of Office Depot for that matter. It's not just that though. Getting in and out is annoying, much like with some girls I know, and they're not really friendly or helpful, and that adds to the downgrading of the store rating in my opinion. read more

I was at the meyerland location and they were out of the printer I wanted, so I called this location. Taneka answered. She was not very enthusiastic to help. I asked her to hold the printer and I would be there in 30 min. Reluctantly, she agreed . I asked where I could find it when I arrived. She snidely responded "at the cashiers." When I arrived, no printer was at the cashiers. I found Tanika eating pizza and chatting with another employee. I asked her where the printer was. She got up and walked over a few aisles and brought it to the front. The cashier was wonderful. Fortunately, he was not as lazy. read more

Jose is rude and should not be working the register if he is unaware of the store's policy and is impatient. I tried to turn in empty inkjet cartridges, Jose mistakenly assumed they were returns. As I attempted to explain to him he snatched the cartridges and said he has to understand what's going on. I told him if he'd listen(instead of rudely snatching things) I could continue to explain to him. His response "look do you want me to help you or not?" I asked for a manager and he immediately called for the next person to come to the register. He had no regard for social distancing whatsoever as he rang a lady and her grandson up. I have waited for the manager for 20mins now along with a customer. My issue is not the manager as I understand they are short-staffed so didn't mind waiting. I am reporting this bec of the horrible customer service in which I received and the total lack of consideration for my health/well-being amid a national pandemic. This was a weird experience and not a good one. I found some storage boxes online at office depot. They had a deal going on for 4 pack ( or so I understood), they also had next day free delivery and i thought why not. The boxes came next day in a pretty scratched up, botched condition. In less than an hour I went to the store to return / replace. When I went there, i told the first person I saw - note, I could see only 2 ppl in the entire store but considering I was the only customer it didnt matter- well, he directed me to the boxes and I got 4 good ones. I noticed that the instore price was much better so I asked the guy to return my purchase or make a price adjustment. Guess what he couldn't pull it up so he called the manager / or just his senior I don't know and they told together where trying to take me for a ride on the price. They insisted that I brought a 4 pack deal online and they don't carry that instore so they will refund only store price!!! What didnt they carry in store - the piece of string that tied those 4 boxes together ?!?! Because other than that,I brought the exact same boxes in store. I put up a fight and he said return it online, and I told him that I purchased only after reading the small letters that said that it needs to be returned in store. And still he kept saying but we don't carry it so u have to take the price I am giving u!!! AGAIN - WHAT don't u carry ?!! I jus bought to ur counter the exact same boxes ,and , in all this time he didnt check my receipt once. Finally he realised that, asked for the receipt and gave me my refund in full for the return and also got the boxes at the instore price. This location is small. I was here to get a printer cartridge. It took me a while to locate it but it ended up being on the east side of the store. There were no associates on the floor to help. I also purchased a usb. I ended up spending $30 dollars on one because the lesser expensive options were sold out. It was the beginning of January so I probably was beat by college and grade school students. This is the closest location to me so I will be back. read more

I'm only able to review the printing station, as that's the only service I used. My fiancé and I were printing out table assignments for our wedding, and the man at the desk was so helpful! He recommended a beautiful card stock that I wouldn't have thought to use otherwise. He was also really patient with us while we decided on sizing of the cards. And there were a few other people waiting in line, and he did an excellent job of communicating to them that he would help them in a bit. If you need printing done, this is a safe bet! They might be a bit understaffed, but they make up for it in customer service. read more

I guess if you need something at the last minute you could come here... though most of this stuff could still be found at places like WalMart for cheaper. I noticed this Office Depot has bad reviews. This OD is located near the Medical Center. Recently Office Depot miss priced a Netgear Blackhawk router in their paper/add. Of course it was a good deal and the worse they can say is no. I went there and the store was clean, well lit and organized. I did not have any trouble finding one of the last two of these routers in stock. I brought this up to the cashier and she checked me up.. it rang up at the normal price, but I showed her the ad. She adjusted it and the manager override the normal price to the miss priced price. I had no trouble.. During all this we had a great conversation about the holidays and people.. She was very friendly... Very good customer service.. I had 0 issues. So for me I had a positive experience at this location. read more

I stood in line to ship something and listened as the guy behind the counter told everyone ahead of me that he didn't know and made no effort to find answers to their questions Once I got up there, I asked him which shipping option was cheaper and he had no idea so I was just going to go with whatever. THEN after going through and putting all of my information in, he had no idea how to ship anything. So I asked if I should just come back because I needed to make sure these packages shipped and he said that would be a safer bet. How do you put someone in charge who doesn't have a clue of what he's doing? He was so lazy he couldn't be bothered to try. I went into your store and ordered a desk and paid for delivery. The store manager said the delivery people would call me when they are on the way. No one works in my office and I would have to be called to report there to unlock the door. I operate a mobile business. Well on my delivery date, I did not receive a phone call about delivery so I headed to the office around 10:00 AM. I see a delivery note stating the delivery people came at 8:45 AM. I never received a call. I used your chat service, email, and phone service to see if someone could come back out. I was told by the chat people several times that the delivery driver would come back out before 5:30 PM. I waited until that time and no person came. I kept being told to check my email. I never received an email. So I told the lady that I would be out of town and for them to deliver it early Monday morning because the I paid for the assembly service and the company would be there on Monday from 8 AM to 12 PM. I was told the desk would be there. On Saturday morning, I called to confirm. After a few chats, the lady said the order was canceled and I would have to go back to the store and order again. I did this on Saturday and I paid someone to pick up the desk and deliver it to my office. I found out once I went into the store that I was overcharged for the assembly service. I was told the manager that rang up my transaction was fired. I highly displeased with Office Depot. I kept asking for the phone number for the delivery service and was told they could not give out that number. I want to be contacted by someone from the corporate office. read more

It's almost a headache to come in here. I typically come to either fax paperwork or have something shipped. At this point I'd rather just go to the actual FedEx store or ups store because it's such a headache to come in here. Instead of helping one customer at a time they help 5-6 people at a times it makes more sense to help one customer from start to finish instead of starting on 5 people and dragging that process on. Working from out of town, I spent a couple hours here trying to get complicated documents and pics printed, cut and sorted for a technical application. The staff could not have been more helpful and kind. They were hardworking and immediately responsive to my requests - as possible between helping other customers. This was my first time accessing Office Depot for this type of service; and the result was inexpensive with outstanding customer service. Thank you, Guadalupe and Therese. I went again early next day and found the next shift of staff was also expeditiously helpful - as possible among other customers - for relatively very inexpensive printing and other business services. It was obviously popular among locals, since a steady stream of customers came during both of my visits. read more

Usually when I'm in this Office Depot, it is more for things like computers and technology assistance/maintenance. When I step into that department, I'm always approached quickly to see if I need any help or information. The store is clean, well lit, organized with an OCD person in mind-- everything is in it's rightful place. The service when you go to checkout and leave, however, leaves a lot to be desired. When standing in line for the checkout on a weekend, with no one else in line, I waited for several minutes for the woman at the register to tell me she could help me. When i finally did ask if her lane was open, she said yes. She didn't ask me if I found everything; in fact, her only verbal communication with me was, "Do you think you need a bag for these?" When I said my standard pleasantries for her giving me back my card, etc, no communication was returned, and she didn't do anything to help me gather my purchases. I wish I could say this was the first time I'd experienced this at this location, but the Check-out service is usually the most frustrating part of the whole experience. I went to this Office Depot by my job to pick up a printer, which online says that it was available for pickup at this location. I got there and they didn't have it and then redirected me to the Kirby/Richmond location. Apparently no call was made to confirm that it was in stock at the Richmond location and insistingly was told to go there. Guess what, not in stock. That's very irresponsible. I wish I could rate this place 0 stars. The employees, especially working in the printing area, are the most incompetent workers I have ever seen. I waited in line to get something printed, and there was one person being helped in front of me and other than myself next in line the store was completely empty. All the other employees in the printing area where not doing anything while I had to wait 20 minutes to be able to talk to someone. When it was finally my turn after watching the employees do nothing for 20 minutes it turned out they can't print the size I needed even though it clearly states it on their website. Beware of the older guy with white hair and white beard. He was as rude as they come and told me to get back into line when I was looking to find out more information about printing. I would suggest management fire these employees as they are unable to perform job duties that are meant for high schoolers working their first job. It is simply embarrassing and sad. I began using OD in 1989, and furnished 4 medical offices with their furniture and equipment. From that time to this I was a faithful customer buying mountains of supplies. I redid my offices, again and again, buying more furniture and computers and ink. I furnished 2 studies at home from them too. In the past 4 years, service has become incredibly bad at this medical center branch. Of those who are there, they do not know what they are talking about, are surly, deliberately indifferent, and prefer to stand and talk to one another or adjust their earpieces than work. Three years ago I left a large printing job which had a deadline there. They promised It for 3-4 days. It took nearly 3 weeks for them to complete it, with never-ending, unbelievable excuses to my secretary. Really loused me up, but it turned out it was not due to being busy with other customers, just strikingly inefficient. Totally irresponsible. I had occasion to return 2 metal basket pen holders this morning, with the original labels/SKU number on them, since there was a duplicate ordering. I did not have a receipt with me, but it was obvious the labels had their own bar codes on it. After speaking to the manager, a "wise-guy" type who could not have been more disagreeable, another "consultant" he called said "absolutely not" to a $6.00 credit. Perhaps I gave them $500,000 worth of business or more, and it came down to this? They are running out of everything in the stores, and since you need to go online anyway, might as well get things from better vendors who allow returns. Never, ever go to OD or any of their branches. They deserve to go out of business, because they are inept at running one. read more
