I ordered a grilled shrimp wrap last night February 25th , it had a total of 4 shrimp and so much wrap and lettuce . I could have walked to the china gardens and got better food than I got yesterday . I went there at about 4:45pm and had to wait in car line about 15 mins to get this wasted wrap . I gave so much of the thick wrap to the birds. This place has been in Thibodaux for a long time now. I never went there before because I heard lots of people talk good and bad. I wanted to try myself . THE only thing that most people say is their gumbo is the only good thing there .. Well all I have to say you got my money once but never ever again. could have gone to popeyes and got fried shrimp that would have been more shrimp for less money . This place is a rip off ......

Let me say the food was very good. But, the amount of food does not agree with the price. Would I buy again no!!! Food costs too much for kid plates. I ordered the Shrimp & Fish Platter. 5 Shrimp & 1 Fish cut in strips, 10-12 French Fries, 2 Hush Puppies, 1 Fountain drink almost $18.58 I also ordered fried 3-5 pieced bread pudding bites/T-Boy's for $3.27 I listened to my sister (you have to try their T-Boy; they are so good taste like French toast) nope, just bread pudding, which I do not like.. So again, the food has a great flavor, but if you are looking for a large quantity, you will have to purchase extra food.

Fast Food with Restaurant Pricing Firstly, my experience albeit brief was a pleasure with the staff and the location was nice and clean. What really got me was the pricing. $8.99 for a 6" shrimp poboy made me double take. No, this wasn't a combo, JUST the poboy. All said, my total was just shy of $18 for a 6" poboy, which I got the combo and upgraded to have my fries be swamp fries. While food was fast, aromatic and seasoned well, the freshness was a concern. The etouffee that was poured over the fries contained 3 crawfish tails, which were tiny and gray. The shrimp were a slight bit sour, not horrible by any stretch but far from fresh. I don't know what to think. To the uninitiated, this might be fantastic to get some "cajun" food. However, for anyone from various parts of Louisiana, its almost offensive the pricing. There's definitely more flavor than your typical fast food establishment, however I don't feel like the bang for the buck is there when can go to a more formalized authentic restaurant and get more for less.

You can't go wrong at off the hook! Deep in Cajun/seafood country it might be looked down upon to get "fast food" seafood, burgers or poboys but this local spot is anything but your typical fast food. The location has a small dining area and drive though and a smaller to the point menu that they clearly took time to think out and work to make every dish delicious. Despite the food coming out fast the burgers and seafood are better than most "sit down" places you'll find. The prices are fair and the staff was super friendly, they even have a window inside where you can watch them cook (you're not gunna find that in any fast food restaurant)!! Amazing food done fast and by super friendly people, can't go wrong here!

Normally the words "fast food" are not what you want to hear when it's time to eat seafood. However, Off the Hook is not only fast, but the food is damn good. We were on our way to the Bayou Country Children's Museum and needed to eat lunch prior to it opening. A quick Yelp search revealed that there's not much open on a Sunday afternoon in Thibodaux, Louisiana. However, "Off the Hook" was open and had some pretty solid reviews. Upon our arrival,I knew this place had to be good, as the parking lot was full. Here's some free advice: If someone in your group can order for everyone, have another person in your party grab a table, because seating is very limited, and upon our arrival, there was not a single seat available. Therefore, we had to wait for a table. But thankfully, we got a table right before our food arrived. Off the Hook offers counter service only and bring your food to your table. We split a catfish plate and a bowl of gumbo. I'm a harsh critic when it comes to gumbo and I would say that Off the Hook's is average. Perhaps a solid B minus. Not bad at all; but simply not a "knock your socks off" offering. The catfish, on the other hand, was outstanding. The breading, the seasoning and the freshness were all top notch. I am willing to bet that this is their bread & butter dish. The staff was very polite, the food was delicious and the restaurant and restrooms were very clean. If I am ever back in the Thibodaux region, I may give them another try to sample some additional menu items.

Pretty damn good food for a "fast food" type of seafood place. I like the fired shrimp basket and they don't short you on the quantity.

Hands down, best restaurant in Thibodaux. Cheaper than most of them, but still has a bit of a fast food feel.

Not bad for quick to go Cajun. I had the gumbo and it was way better the expected. The beans and rice were very good too.

OMG!!! Went for Sunday brunch. Had about a 20 minute wait to be seated, but after eating there,…read moreI'd have waited an hour. Started with Irish coffee, then had the Crab Cake Benedict. These were the best crab cakes I've ever eaten, on top of a biscuit that was a little crispy on the edges and soft, warm & moist in the center, all covered in a crawfish cream sauce. Absolutely delicious. And the Bloody Mary, made in house from scratch had just the right amount of kick. Had me sweating a bit, just like I like it. Service was friendly & efficient with no hovering. The whole vide of the place was welcoming and friendly. A little cross talk between tables is never a bad thing at brunch.

The place was clean, restrooms were clean, and the food was really good We started with the honey siriracha shrimp. It was good fresh fried shrimp with an amazing sauce and the coleslaw bed that it was on was very good. I chose to get the half soup and popcorn shrimp Poboy. I enjoyed both. The bread was a little bit on the dark side, but not a horrible burn taste so I did not send it back. However, I definitely would've enjoyed it a little more lightly toasted . I got the pepper jack cheese soup since it's a fan favorite and I enjoyed it. There was too much food for me to eat, and I took half of it home. My husband ordered the hamburger steak with a side salad. He really enjoyed the hamburger steak. The texture was amazing and he said the gravy was very good. However, this is the first time he's ever had hamburger steak not on rice or mashed potatoes. That is an option he could've ordered, but he opted for the side salad with Ranch. We took the bread pudding to go and enjoyed heating it up at home. They put a lot of frosting on it and it was very delicious. However, you do need to like raisins. Definitely a restaurant we will go to again. husband loved the bloody Mary. This was a great recommendation.

You may have driven past this place a hundred times, I know I have. There isn't even a sign…read more What? No sign... Yep! There's no sign. When it was being built I thought, why build a gas station across from a gas station? Tucked in what appears to the naked eye as a simple gas station/convenience store is Donuts & Deli. It's no secret I'm from California as I reminiscence often of cool balmy beach weather as I swelter in the humid heat of Southern Louisiana. Louisianians love their snowballs, but we Californians LOVE us some donuts. We have as many donut joints as you have snowball stands, maybe even more. After hearing about this place ( from darling Alexis), I was eager to get my hands on some donuts. They serve a selection of classic donuts, glazed, chocolate, Bavarian cream, jelly filled and sprinkles. But then.......a wide grin as big a the Cheshire Cat creeped across my face as I eye spied a cinnamon roll as big as my head. The little Alice in Wonderland within me jumped for joy as I drooled over the various donut holes and miniature apple fritters, perfect for any mad hatter tea party. We order the giant cinnamon roll, chocolate covered donuts and jelly filled holes, all delicious! I thought I'd try their original potato, filled with the yumminess of bacon bits, cheese, butter, sour cream and green onions for a whopping $3.29 ....their menu includes sandwiches, burgers and smoked meat lunch plates....it's was obvious that some knew about this place as a dozen or so worker guys were chowing down at tables located inside..... And I was assured that the sign is coming soon....... What I discovered, even though my name isn't Alice nor did I follow a white rabbit down a hole....is that I won't have to travel far to grab delicious donuts or a bite for lunch.......Donuts & Deli gets the California stamp of approval, I'm a fan!

While I'm not crazy about Bourgeois Meat Market's andouille sausage, which I have found to be a bit…read moretough, I enjoy their regular smoked sausage, and I'm a huge fan of their Cajun Smoked Tasso. For the uninitiated: Tasso is fast-cured, seasoned, and smoked pork shoulder. It's used in stews and simmered foods, softening as it cooks, adding a delicious, unique flavor and bite that's typical of many Southern Louisiana (read: Cajun) dishes. Tasso's difficult to describe, but you'll know it when you taste it. I just received four 1-lb. packages of tasso, shipped from Bourgeois' smokehouse in Gray, LA via FedEx 2Day. The order arrived in good shape, and though the ice packs surrounding the meats had melted, the tasso was smoked (and so, fully-cooked) and it was vacuum-sealed. It went straight into my freezer, and it'll be fine. The cost to ship from Lafourche Parish to San Diego doubled the price of the product, from $7.24/lb to around $15, but I pay that much (or more) for quality steaks and seafood, here at home, and it was my choice to spend top-dollar for meat that I know, from experience, will make my gumbo, red beans, etc. taste better than I could otherwise make them. Kudos to the folks at Bourgeois Meat Market for offering a high-quality product, and for handling the purchase and shipping in a professional manner. I like visiting their shop when I'm in the area, but I LOVE that they don't make me get on a plane to eat what they're cookin'!
