Meanwhile other tables got the fish and chips and it was over flowing with fish. I don't get it. Wife got the lobster roll, it was just ok, the roll was soggy so she just ate the lobster. The glasses of wine are insanely priced. My daughter got a ceasar salad that had mostly white romaine, the grilled chicken was bland and dry. The best thing they made was the tuna tar tar, ironically. Then to top off a not great 200.00 experience for 2 people, it took the waitress 15 more minutes to bother to come back and run the card. Flying solo, only one item was ordered, fried shrimp plate. There were plenty of fries and shrimp. So much so that the to go box had to be taped shut. Both the fries and the shrimp had a similar taste that was imparted by the oil. Not a bad taste, just unexpected and distracting. The shrimp had another flavor in the batter that was unexpected, familiar, and unwelcome. As it turns out, the shrimp appear to have been coated in mustard aioli before being breaded. While this kept the shrimp super moist, the mustard flavor is very unexpected and Witness could not get past the wild juxtaposition. The provided cocktail sauce was over run with hot sauce. The star is meant to be the horse radish but this one is about Tabasco. The spicy factor switched all the way to the smack you in the face flavor and added a watery consistency and creating a thin condiment. Last having been here 6-7 years ago, this repeat business has been a long time coming. Unfortunately, Witness will need to move on to another shop this Lent.
