Eat and dash diner . It was a nice day when we went so we sat at the picnic table under an umbrella and had our burger and patty melt lunches . The patty melt was on their secret menu and my wife still raves about it 2 months later . I had the cowboy burger with jalapeños and a house made sauce and a fried egg . It was the first burger I've ever had with an egg and as the saying goes " where has that been all my life ?" . The meals come with fries and a drink and those fries are the real deal . Saw Dashboard from the side of the road, checked the reviews and had to stop. Off the bat Jackie and Marie were ready to take care of business. I got the Wrangler Burger purely off what I felt my stomach needed. Jackie and Marie shared their personal favorites which was the reaper burger and chicken tenders. After ordering Jackie broke protocol and decided to fry me up a sample micro chicken tenders so I could have a taste. BOY I SHOULDA GOTTEN THOSE. They burger was phenomenal and worth every penny ((14$ including fries (fresh) and soda)). Will be coming back next time I am in town. I also wanna plug Easy Coast thrift down the road. Stopped here since my work has me going thru Spencer now. What a great deal for a quality dog here. I got the 2 coney islands with handcut fries, a can of soda, for $14, which includes tax. The buns were well grilled. Hot dog had some nice girth to it, and the chili was home made. Fries were excellent, but I want to try the onion rings next. Very nice ladies who run the place. Seasonal, they close up in Oct. You should go. I hear the ice cream is good here too. Lots of parking. read more

I'm a burger and fries kind of guy. This place is across the street from where I work. I could see the sign from my office so I decided to call in an order. I ordered my usual bacon cheeseburger with fries and a Diet Coke. When I opened the bag I knew it was just what I was hoping for. A huge amount of hand cut fries, cooked to perfection. My burger was thick and juicy, which is the way I like them. I immediately texted the place to thank them for an awesome lunch. Unfortunately they are only open on certain days, but that will change when the weather improves. 5 star in my book! read more

Ok why don't my reviews ever show up here!? And yet managers of restaurants can read them and I cannot? I don't know if anyone else sees them and if not that is wrong, what is wrong with this place. OK on to the review. I promised Marie S I would return and did, a try to always be a man of my word and seldom fail. I had the 4 taco and soda special for $8.99. Well should I be honest or show blind loyalty to what I believe to be a wonderful kind and gentle woman that I respect so much? Tough call I respect honesty and loyalty too so have to take a middle ground and take it with a grain of salt and see what you must out of it. Reviews kill me, so hard to nail down in many cases but this place inspired me to start so owe that much to the process I think! Again, not so sure I wanted to revisit, basically this woman in what we Russians or in my case Belorussians call a a babooska (very confusing as a grandma is a "babushshka"), so yeah a head scarf or whatever, she is so nice and wss told don;t rush to return or so I got that but I am delusional sometiimes. I swear, I guy that works there looks like a brother of another Spencer establishment, and what I assume is the owner here and at that place look like sisters. Prob just in my "twisted sister" mind but seemed that way. Anyway, the experience started by a cop jetting in front of me a 1/4 mile up the road and almost causing an accident on me, and then pulling in the police station and I went around the back side into this place, seriously crazy always happens sometimes. Blarring anbulences before, sometimes I think I am cursed. Anyway, I get in the parking lot after what seems far too long, and motorcycle group there no problem unless they voted a certain, well never mind that. They seemed cool. Was served by the same guy I referred to when I first visited here. He was quicker but tried the food right away and still very cool almost cold so went home and tried to reheat it. Took out the lettuce and other things you normally don't heat, and reheated it. Maybe did it wrong, I had a similar problem with fish and chips and stated it here and she had a good description on what I should have done and didn't do it so chalked that up to my fault and that subsequent fish dinner was quite larger and better. Today, upon getting home, thought it was messy cold disaster but opted to nuke it for close to 5 minutes, and the outer shells were rubbery probably as a result. The innards seemed fine despite being soaked in grease for a very long time, but I have a very very sensitive stomach and if really as much grease as I initially thought I would not be talking with you but in the bathroom. So must have just been a lot of moisture from the excessive toppings and seemingly lacking substance AKA meat inside. my bro did suggest I try the tacos here as the main place in Spencer you can get them has OK but apparently pre-manufactured $1 Tuesday tacos tacos full of commercial iceburg lettuce and other cheap shit.. Well here, the toppings did seem fresher for sure, but the tacos even smaller and nothing that said to me "oh this is good" by any means. Not bad, maybe good or very good will give the benefit of the doubt as I again did not know if it was user error. Fine for kids, fine for places in its class, but compare as unfair as it is to 4 or 5 star restaurants and no comparison but compare it to all other micro roadside diners, compare apples to apples and probably in the top 10 percent of its class don't really know. Good people and good for what it is, maybe not for me but for a good cheap roadside eat it mb can;t be beat! PS I think great people here and fine food for many, a good cheap eat for sure. And for kids and those who love grease as i used to as a kind, wonderful. I still don't know if it was all grease or moisture from the lettuce and other things but I should be on the toilet right now if that was that case and I am not so probably just moisture. You can't compare an apple to an orange and pear and be fair, and maybe I am guilty of that. I really want to like this place but the honest assesment is: Head lady or so I think: 5 of 5 or if I could give them 9 out of 5 I would Service like 4.7 overall very good Food still a huge question mark but seems good to great but mb very greasy but did not upset so mb not that way I don't know. What a gem of a place. Fresh Potato French Fries so delicious and crisp. She made them extra crispy for us... perfect texture inside and nice and crispy just like my Mom likes them. We shared. The Cheese Burger was perfect too. Super tender. Covered in the Cheese I picked. Perfecty cooked and seasoned. But the bun is what made it.. It had that buttery toasted edge that you can taste in every bite. Marie took all my topping picks and made it exactly like I asked (extra Mayo, extra lettuce that was fresh and crisp and clean, extra sweet cold crisp red onion) totally perfect.
