I first went to Ofelia's over 10 years ago. They are so conscious about all my allergies and make sure they go above and beyond to make sure I have no allergic reaction. And honestly, I never have. I've had their sandwiches and soup in the past. Jane helped us out today and was super sweet and kind. My sister and I went this afternoon for lunch. She had the crab salad sandwich and the split pea soup; and I had a plain grilled cheese sandwich with cheddar cheese. It's always fantastic every time that I come. We didn't have to wait too long for our food. Piping hot and delicious. I needed something quick to hold me over. I wanted something light and healthy. I'm trying to make better choices so I had remembered Ofelia's Kitchen from awhile back. They have vegan and vegetarian options. I finally came in and I'm happy I did. I love supporting small family businesses and this was one of them. I ordered a simple cheese melt but it was tasty and I really liked that it came with sprouts, cucumbers, tomatoes, lettuce, etc. Price is a bit on the pricey side but you get what you pay for. I will definitely be coming back to give their eggplant sandwich a try and their chicken salad sandwich too! Cute cozy little place if you decide to dine in. Awesome little sandwich spot in livermore. It seems like it's family owned and the service was totally amazing. I tried the eggplant sandwich - a bit sweeter than what I expected due to the roasted red pepper spread (which I thought would be savory or spicy) but still yum. They made me a good earth to replace that one bc it was too sweet for my taste. The owner is so sweet and said he just wants the customer to love what they have and return! So nice :) Also, what I love is that they have an herbivore and omnivore menu. They also have vegan sandwiches - so something for everyone. This is a place in an obscure location in a small strip shopping area isolated on the side. If you were not looking for it you might miss it. I had the chicken salad sandwich with a cup of lentil soup and my spouse had the veggie sandwich with tomato soup. We took it to go for our lunch at home and found everything was delicious and fresh as they advertise. We will definitely try this spot again to try some other items on their lunch menu. read more

I picked this spot randomly based on distance from work. So pleasantly surprised! I have come everyday for lunch since. Everyone is so friendly and fast! Always tastes so fresh. The best tasting bread there is and the best thing is, it's made fresh, so flavorful. The soups are really good too. It's a small place, so you may not even see it. I wasn't paying a lot of attention and walked into the barber next door thinking that was the door for it. When I am alone I always feel bad taking up seating so I usually take it to go. Coming here the atmosphere is very welcoming and homey. Customer service is great and the employees are extremely friendly. The sandwiches are all made with fresh ingredients which makes the sandwich that much better. I ordered the reuben which contains turkey pastrami, swiss cheese, saurkraut, and homemade thousand island. It was a very good sandwich and couldn't tell that the pastrami wasn't pork. I went with the chicken salad sammy. The chicken salad was simple, but tasty. Literally pulled chicken, mayo and some celery. The standout of the sandwich was that fresh, home made whole wheat bread. So fluffy, so fresh. I also absolutely loved the toppings that come on every sandwich: sprouts, tomato, lettuce, red onion and cukes. Without those, this definitely would have been a three star review. A few standouts: it's very vegetarian friendly. Not trying to eat bread? They offer up a lettuce wrap option. This is one of those restaurants that takes you back a few decades. The ambience is authentic old school. Small tables with glass tops packed close to one another, complete with checkered pink tablecloths; a counter looking into the kitchen, with a kind looking older couple happy to serve you their homemade soup and sandwiches; patrons who know and greet each other. The service is impeccable. They saw how hungry we all were when we got there (cranky kids are a dead giveaway), greeted us warmly and immediately offered us a sample of navy bean soup. When we ordered, they asked if the kids wanted the crusts on their sandwiches cut off ( I said "no thanks" on principle - don't want them getting used to that kind of service!). The food had that fresh homemade delicious taste. All their sandwiches are made with wheat bread they bake in-house. I would have preferred rye or sourdough, but otherwise the Reuben they made was perfect. The kids complained there wasn't enough jelly on their PB&J's, but ate them up all the same (except for the crusts, of course!). We will be back for sure, especially as the girls loved eating outdoors and running up and down the shady sidewalk outside. read more

I work nearby and decided to try this place today and so glad I did! First of all, it's small/quaint, clean with very friendly service. I had the cheese melt and added avocado and peppers and had a cup of turkey soup - all of it was awesome. The servings were just right in my opinion - I was comfortably full and felt everything was super fresh. The bread is made in house, which leveled up this sandwich. I love supporting small local businesses and will be back soon to try out some of their other lunch items. read more
