Very fond of Ofelias Kitchen. We are long time customers, Ofelia sold to one of her long time workers and that was a good choice the place is still wonderful. My favorite is the tuna egg, my husband leans to the BLAT. You want to try the soups too. In the summer it is a great place to stop for a smoothie after riding bikes around the vineyards. Was out of town for a soccer tournament and this place was 10 min away from the field. I love sandwiches so I decided to give this place a shot. I ordered a turkey pastrami sandwich and a diet Dr. Pepper. Ate the thing while driving and as soon as I finished it, I felt the world to be a better place and was close to shedding a tear. Such a charming little cafe! We found Ofelia's on Yelp (surprise, surprise) while looking for a place with vegan lunch options in the Livermore area. The menu isn't overwhelmingly large but offers plenty of both "omnivore" and "herbivore" options including fresh soups, sandwiches on thick homemade wheat bread, salads, smoothies, baked goods and more. Being vegan, I often struggle to find satisfying sandwich options, but Ofelia's made it quite easy! I opted for the lentil "meatless" loaf sandwich (lentil loaf spread, cucumbers, tomatoes, onions, sprouts) + avocado. Not only was it HUGE, but it was very fresh and the soft, slightly sweet bread was to die for. I personally would have liked a bit more seasoning or some sort of sauce (maybe something roasted red pepper or ketchup-like), but overall I was happy with option! My mom also tried a turkey lettuce wrap (an option on all cold sandwiches if you're not feeling the bread) and my grandpa had a B.L.A.T (bacon, lettuce, avocado, tomato) with split pea soup. With the thickness of the bread + overflow of toppings, the sandwiches were all huge and none of us finished! Taking a step away from the food, the ambiance of this little spot reminds me of grandma's house - warm, cozy, and inviting. The small staff was super friendly both on the phone and in person (we ordered takeout), and the pale yellow walls and mellow music alone made me want to come back. My one suggestion for Ofelia's would be to note on their menu which items are specifically vegan. While there are ton of options and the staff is more than willing to make special accommodations, as a vegan, I personally lean towards places that require no questions or changes. Good, healthy sandwiches and soups. It's like you would make at home- if you had all this great sandwich stuff at home, and if your avocado hadn't gone bad because you forgot about it. I love that it tastes like homemade- but I didn't have to make it. They always check the food carefully for my allergy, and I've never had a problem eating here. Yes, you will have to wait in line if it's lunch time- because it's good, and other people know it's good. Because it's busy, ingredients are always fresh- and that's a good thing. We've been getting sandwiches from here for some time now. I usually get the tuna melt (5/5 highly recommend!) and my dad usually orders their BLAT. They makes their sandwiches on their homemade bread (so delicious!!) Both have always been delicious and have always had plenty of meat and veggies inside. The tuna is also nice and moist. In comparison to some other cafes that do sandwiches, Ofelia's takes the cake. Especially for the price. Another cafe I go to in town that also does a tuna sandwich, is $2 more expensive and the tuna tastes like it's straight out of the can and doesn't come on delicious homemade bread. Spent the day at NB Courts watching my boy play hoops in a tournament and needed a healthy lunch break. Found Ofelia's Kitchen on Yelp (highly rated) and decided to give it a try. Here's my assessment: I walked in the door, stepped close to the counter and was asked three times from three different people in a matter of minutes if they could take my order. Uh, I hadn't even looked at the menu...felt kinda pressured. I quickly ordered - a grilled cheese with tomato for my boy and an eggplant sandwich for myself. Hoping I had found NorCal's version of High Street Deli (SLO), I was bummed when two small sandwiches showed up at our table. Yes, the bread was thicker than usual, but it was the same size as some lame sandwich I'd make at home, for $8.75! Were the sandwiches good? Yea, pretty good with quality ingredients, but really a paltry amount of food for the price. I won't return, can't recommend, kinda dissapointed. I hate Subway, but I'd opt for Subway before spending another $20 on a very small amount of food. I should mention, the decor is country-bumpkin goofy - not appealing in the least. 2.5 stars. Love it! This is a family owned "hole in the wall" restaurant often crafted by hers' truly- Ofelia! I don't know what dumdum decided to categorize this restaurant under "Ice Cream" if you're looking in the Yelp app but it really should be listed under Sandwiches. Now why does this appeal to me over the usual? -- hooray to a family owned restaurant! I'm a huge supporter of local private hard working biz. We need more o' that. -- pricing makes me cringe a little bit but it is homemade & delicious. -- My favorite of all: Ofelia actually makes her own bread/soups/cookies, etc. Not only is she usually making up the delicious sandwiches on order but she actually will take the feedback of customers (usually veg's) and add new sandwiches and variety. You could get a subway sandwich for around the same cost ($8 or so) but get that generic bread and meat taste or have FRESH homemade honey wheat bread with abundant veggies (love that they use sprouts in most sandwiches) plus support a local business. Came here for lunch today my first visit At least in my opinion they nailed the 3 things that they say you can only have 2 of in business. Quality, price, and service. Food, price, and service were excellent. For made to order they were extremely fast. Granted there was no line in front of me but I ordered a sandwich, soup, and smoothie and they were ready easily under 5 minutes. I was actually in on a Saturday but so many small cafes like they neglect to understand the value of time to their customers. I was working today and wanted to be in and out...but did not want fast food so I yelped. If they were slow I would have to count them out next time I was in livermore to seek someone faster but their service was immediate, food was perfect, and price...maybe because I don't come out this far...seemed cheap compared to my options in palo alto. Wow, it was with out a doubt the worst sandwich I have ever been served outside a fast food drive through. Eggplant and provolone was what the menu said. There was a little bit of tiny coin sized rounds of eggplant on it but not enough to cover one slice of bread and very thin and tough. Not sure if it was mozzarella or pizza cheese but not provolone. Still thought maybe the taste would be good but nope not even tasty. Totally bad. I will say I have heard good things about this place on social media but my experience was awful. My husband and I came here for the first time earlier this week at 11 am. It was still nice and quiet and I was pleasantly surprised with how cute and cozy the dining area was. Ofelia is very friendly and just adds to the cozy atmosphere of the place. My husband ordered a Reuben and chicken noodle soup which he loved. I ordered an egg salad sandwich and broccoli soup. My sandwich was delicious, but I do agree with someone that did an earlier review stating that the sandwiches were small with a lot of bread. My broccoli soup was OK, a little bland for my taste, but I did eat it all since it helped to fill me up. For the two sandwiches, two small soups, and a can of soda, our total came up to almost $24. However, Ofelia's was a nice change. My husband really loved this place, so I am sure that we will be back again soon. read more

This spot is a bit tough to find. It's at the corner of the shopping center, facing Hillcrest. I ordered the recommended egg salad sandwich. They had it ready before I was done paying! It didn't look like much, but it was very tasty. Ingredients were fresh and organic. Cucumbers and alfalfa sprouts complemented the egg salad nicely. The bread was truly spectacular. They grind their flour fresh every morning. Not over-rated...I couldn't believe how they could make whole wheat bread so soft and yummy. It had a bit of chewiness to it. They bake it fresh daily. I just wished I ordered the whole sandwich instead of half! Prices are very reasonable for organic food. I felt good that I was eating a relatively "healthy" meal. They have veggie options too. After months of talking about it I finally gave Ofelia's Kitchen a try and I have to say I am highly impressed. Upon entering I was greeting by the staff in such a friendly matter and my to-go order was ready to go. I got the chicken salad sandwich and the taste was so fresh and on point. They bake their own bread so it was fluffy and tasted as if it just came out of the oven. I enjoyed all the veggies in the sandwich as well. I also tried the strawberry banana smoothie and I have to say that's the best smoothie I've ever had. My overall experience was a 5+++ stars. There are a lot of reasons why I love Ofelia's Kitchen. I was at a client in Livermore for a couple of weeks when I found out about this place. It's the first result that showed up on Yelp even though it was a mile or two away. I'm not a sandwich person but I decided to try this place out. It also looked pretty healthy to me, as my coworkers at that time were health-conscious. I ordered through the phone and went for a pick-up. It's located in the plaza where T4 is, tucked away at the left corner. I was pretty tempted to get boba, but I knew I shouldn't because again, we're trying to be healthy. I went in and wow, it felt like I was at an opening scene of a Maroon 5 or Train music video. Or a random happy song. Love was in the air. It's a mom and pop shop, so it felt like everyone's family and work together. There was an old couple who was very into each other at one of the tables. BFF's hanging out together. It was surreal. Anyway, the sandwiches were great! I think no matter what sandwich you get, it'll be good. I also got some cookies and brownies for my team. They were great, not too sweet or bland.
