I want to love this local establishment in a historic building, but have been surprised by the poor service twice now. The first time we ever went there we were mocked for not knowing how it worked. We were there for my son's 6th birthday, but luckily kids are oblivious to that. We tried again and had a much better experience checking in as it was with a different gentleman, but unfortunately, we had a negative experience leaving. Our child accidentally spilled some food and we apologized to a different guy as we were leaving and he rolled his eyes at us and said "Jesus." We felt awful. I work with the public and if I spoke to someone like that, I would be fired. Anyway- I want to love it, and the building was beautiful and felt clean, but we can't justify going back. read more

I HIGHLY RECOMMEND The Odem theater and pub is my absolute favorite place to go in Central Oregon!! They serve local raised grass fed beef (no grains). Vegan options and excellent service! They bring your food into the theater so you can eat dinner while watching the movie and have flip up tables at every seat for ease of eating in the theater, or eating in the dining room is a great atmosphere also. The theater seats are SUPER comfortable! They have a full bar, and GREAT prices on food, drinks, popcorn and movie tickets. You can reserve movie tickets on line also. The service is outstanding, comfortable and has a great atmosphere. The people who work there are very accommodating like family. Weird out-of-place rude owner and son make the experience pretty awful to be honest. A not all that clean place but passable I guess. Not a diverse place and seemed from our one time visit to be unwelcoming to strangers of color or certain backgrounds. Half the clientele looked like they'd spent at least one tour in rehab. Absolutely unhinged owner and son, the kind whose entire personality is supporting Trump. This is basically a theater catering the extreme MAGA crowd. They're super in your face about it, with hats and shirts really letting you know what they think. The place is grimy and old, one of the digital screens is bad. Seating is uncomfortable, there is little redeeming this local spot. They do sell beer which is nice. such a fun piece of history in downtown Redmond! my partner and I went here for the first time and we're all around very pleased with the experience. the small, quaint theatre made for a cozy feeling experience as it was - then you can order actual food (not just snacks) to be brought to your seat! The tickets for the show were very fairly priced and the staff really made the place feel warm and welcoming, would absolutely choose a place like this over a regular movie theater any day! read more

I love to support local and I was very excited to spend our first date night in nearly a year at a new (to us) local business. Unfortunately, the moment we made contact with the owner and his son (I'm gathering that's who he is from the previous reviews I failed to read before going), we felt like we weren't welcome. We ordered four fountain drinks but not before the son made every single one of us feel like we were a burden for even being there, let alone asking for a beverage. I regret coming here and I will tell everyone I know how terrible the service is. That's not even mentioning the disgusting condition this theater is in. The nostalgia of the small town theater is lost, due to the terrible service. The owners son/bartender is rude and unpleasant. The place wasn't busy but he acted like we were bothering him. He makes people feel uncomfortable. The movie was good, the theater is fine, but i can't go back knowing that guy is profiting off of it. Certain jobs can allow for a rude attitude, running a movie theater is not one. People go there for a night out or time with their family, and hope to be treated kindly. Especially by ownership. This is not directed at the father, he was cool. If things change we would go back, we love to support local and enjoy dinner/movie. read more

An excellent place to go with excellent food. This place is provided many of my best movie theater experiences ever. My extended family loves it as well as my wife and kids. I've seen people talk about politics and although I am not an enthusiastic Trump supporter I feel that you don't have to bash someone or give negative reviews of the place just because someone's political views are different. If you look at the negative reviews it seems that someone influential was bent out of shape politically. Ew! Filthy and smells like despair and bad decisions. The owner was incredibly self righteous and rude. He, and I think his son?, made the experience the dumpster fire that it was. The ambiance begins with his "cybertruck" parked outside the front door that has a huge sticker of an elderly man tied up and gagged on the back of it! It gets better as it continues inside with outdated and dusty decor, sticky floors and a bathroom that looks and smells like it has been neglected for months. Food was reheated, frozen in the middle and overpriced. If you want to experience going to a theater, do not waste your time or money at this joke of a place. It is the only theater we go to. The owner and workers have ALWAYS! been great. Great food and drinks. It is a conservative vibe, welcome to Redmond, Oregon, but nothing that makes you feel unwelcome. If you are that insecure of yourself and lifestyle, then that is your problem. I get that employees need to deliver food to the guests, but it's a small theater. Every time that door opens it's very distracting. They probably came in 6 or 7 times during the movie, talking with the guests to deliver food. Also, the walls are thin. I could hear crying babies and foot stomping on the other side of the walls the entire movie. All of this would be fine if the theater was cheap, but $14 for a movie ticket only to be constantly distracted is terrible. Won't be coming back here. read more

This place needs serious cleaning. Hair, lint, dust, food on seats and under the seats. Bathrooms have pink rings in the toilets finger print's everywhere. It could be a cool place. Not going back til I hear it's been professionally cleaned. We use to be in weekly not sure what happened. read more

Love the changes they are making. It's clean, the service is excellent, and the food is outstanding. Had a burger and fries and it was a delicious meal. They have new drinks and different kinds of popcorn like cheddar cheese and caramel corn, along with the classic movie theater stuff. And Robert is the best. I have been going to this establishment for years and I absolutely loved it. Last weekend I decided to take my mom out to enjoy a funny movie and have some food. The person behind the counter (Evan from what I understand from previous reviews, but cannot be too sure) rudely called us over stating "if you want to order food, you have to do it here!" as if we weren't moving quick enough to get the order placed. I reacted impulsively by telling him "sorry" very abruptly. I apologize for my part in that. But he then proceeded to ask me "did I strike a nerve!?" I was flabbergasted. He was very short with us and I had the feeling that he just wanted to argue and continue to treat us with no respect. This was the worst customer service I've received in a very long time from anyone. The other owner, Ted , saw the entire thing and did not say anything about the behavior. I was actually somewhat frightened. I stopped the interaction and ordered some beverages. I was scared to order the food I wanted, so I didn't. I was afraid to ask for a refund or I wouldn't have ordered anything at all. I was humiliated by the server. Everyone in the waiting area was staring at my mother and I (I think in disbelief). The state of the establishment seems to have gone way downhill as well. It was very dirty. I enjoyed the movie, but I will not be returning to this movie theater. That makes me very sad to say because I frequented this spot a lot. I hope things turn around and that the people who own it make some positive changes. read more

We went there today and for the first time ordered food, and OMG I'm still thinking about that burger!! We just wanted something small so we shared the Odem burger. It was sooooo good!!! I really want to like this place but they seriously need help with their food. The pizza is super salty and flimsy, burgers are always over cooked, lacking flavor and variety of texture, fries are NEVER crunchy and always soft, and to top it off the son of the owner is kind of a jerk to customers sometimes. It's cool to have a dine in theater in Redmond but they could do so much better. If they improve I would be happy to remove/ improve my rating. read more

My wife and I love the experience of going to this special little old movie theater in downtown Redmond. The food is great, and they have drinks, and they bring it to you at your seat in the theater. Yay!!! Saw out first movie here and loved the experience. Nice and clean dining area, friendly informative staff and delicious snacks, meals and beverages on the menu. They host movies from a wide variety of genres and keep the scene current and happenin'. The theater was clean and well taken care of. Psst... you can eat and drink in the theater! The movie was fantastic, it even had that old school "let's all go to the lobby" sing and dance commercial before the movie. Bathrooms we're neat and tidy and the decor was spot on! Get your butt down here and see a movie, have a drink or get a meal. Odem is a great addition to Redmond and the downtown scene. My family went to this theater to celebrate my husband and son's birthday. My son has Down Syndrome and we were told this was a great small theater to try. The show was great, the the seats were awesome, however the horrific customer service ,including my son being Yelled at by the guy taking our food order, and the theft is why we will never return. The guy that helped us was Beyond rude and a thief. He added a $5 dollar tip for himself on my card that I now have to fight. Receipt shows I signed for $29 but my bank paid out $34. Check your receipts and bank statements to make sure they match!! If you have kids with special needs I would say never take them here! read more

Finally tried Odem Theatre & Pub on May 2, 2021. Bought the tickets online (you'll pay a service charge). We were warmly greeted by the owner and the bartender when we arrived. Great small talk while we ordered food and drink. The theaters are very small. Maybe 4-5 rows in each theatre with 8-10 seats per row. This means the screen is not IMAX size but it is still plenty big. The sound is great. The chef brought our food to our seats. The trays have a lip on them that fits on a bar mounted in front of you so you can easily eat while watching. My wife and I both had burgers. Mine was delicious and the bun was outstanding. My wife said hers needed more seasoning. The fries are good and you get a lot of them. The tap selection is outstanding. This tiny little theatre has about 20 taps! Plus fair prices on popcorn, sodas, and movie candy. I enjoyed it so much I've already bought tickets for next Sunday! read more

I've been coming to Odem Theater Pub ever since it opened and have always been satisfied. I can appreciate and private owner who stands up for our civil God given rights. This is a place I will support and is an asset to our city. The movie theaters are well done and always kept clean. The pub has a huge variety of drinks, beer and great quality food.
