Needed to occupy a kiddo for an evening while in Bend. Brewfest was in full force so harder to find kid-friendly things that weekend. Decided to go to a movie here and it was just the ticket! Ordered drinks and food before the movie. Pleasantly relieved there was good whiskey. Had an Old Fashioned which was really good, kid got a lemonade. This Theater felt like being in an artist house in east Berlin. Very groovy, all the seats were vintage couches and had tables. Staff was very nice, but then I think everyone in Bend is super nice. Cute and small independent theater in a small alley right next to a coffee shop. Door opens 30 min before the screening but people starts lining up even before to ensure decent seats. It is a very a small theater and it fills up quickly. When the main seats are taken, you can use a foldable chair to be placed on the side or sit at the bar on a stool. There is only one person to get your tickets from and that same patient gets and prepare drink and snack orders so that process is a little long. Overall very good experience. I wish the seats were on an incline/slope to allow short people like me a slightly better view! read more

This is a really cute theater that most tourists probably don't know about it. It's in an alley next to a coffee shop. It's a very small theater and people usually line up 30 to 45 minutes before the show starts. The door is locked until about 30 min or so before the showtime. Its not a huge screen and the seating is very limited. One person works there and handles the tickets and beer/wine/snacks. After the seats are full, they offer a limited number of foldup chairs. We watch a funny French film. read more

This place is super trendy and unique. The seats are more comfortable (although not many) then they look. We went to 10 Below first and had a cocktail then walked on over. The place is a bit hard to find located in an alleyway but that's what makes it so cool. It makes you feel like you're going to a little hidden gem and you don't want everyone else to find out about it. If you need to use the restroom do so prior to the showing because it's located upfront and could be awkward going during the movie. Go early to make sure you get a seat. Sitting closer to the front is best too. read more

My friend and I stopped in here to see Take This Waltz the other day. This is a cute, one room, mini theater... great ambiance and run by some really nice people. Be careful on your way here though, you could totally walk right by if you're not paying attention. The prices are pretty inexpensive, but my friend paid so I'm not sure exactly how much it was. They have a little concessions stand with popcorn, beer, etc. We actually brought in some tea and they didn't seem to care, so that was cool. I give this place two thumbs up. It has two things I like, offbeat movies you'd have to go to Portland to see and inexpensive prices. I love "the movie" experience without paying an arm and a leg. Overall this is an excellent contribution to Bend. I would highly recommend supporting this business by going and enjoying a cool movie. read more

What a great find. Where the heck have I been to have never been to this theater after living here for eight years? So glad to have finally come across this place and had a reason to go. We are catching up on our Academy Award nominated films, so Foxcatcher isn't playing at Regal, but we lucked out and it was playing at Tin Pan. Tiny thirty seat theater located in the alley by Thump. Not a bad seat in the house. Roomy old school theater seats with the old school leg room. Fresh popcorn with real butter and lots of sprinkles including truffle salt. Nice beer selection. Special, beer and popcorn for $6. For us, two movie tickets, plus champagne bucket sized popcorn and a beer for $20. Other snacks available as well like red vines and other candies. We did not partake. Nice guy working the counter. There were only 8 people there to see the movie, so seating was not a problem. But I can imagine that with it being first come, first serve that it could be challenging to get a seat with a popular flick playing. Easy and enjoyable venue for movies. Great snacks. Great prices. Tin Pan Theater is the BEST! It's adorable, quaint and so perfect for Bend. It's a very cool spot and the level of detail they put into it is amazing. You have to duck down an alley to find it, but that's kinda the best part. Bring a first date here and they will definitely think you are more hip than you are :) My nephew had his 16th bday party there and it was awesome. Cute little bags of candy and popcorn for sale plus some wine and beer for the elderly in attendance. Highly, highly recommend Tin Pan!! read more

What a gem! I moved back to Bend after a number of years absence and discovered this great little theater. It is small (30 seats) with a wine/beer/soft drink bar and homemade popcorn. What's not to like! I have seen 4 movies so far and all of them have been worthwhile. They seem to specialize in independent films. A great theater and a great bargain! Spent the winter holidays in Bend and besides the snow on Mt. Bachelor, the Tin Pan Theater was our best discovery. This is an intimate and fun place to take in a movie -- the schedule when I was there was art films and documentaries. Plus they have beer, wine and great popcorn. Why is this theater billed as not being open to kids? They've played the Goonies & the Never Ending Story on their Sunday events directed towards family audiences. Every time I see a film here it changes my life. The documentary about modern dance choreographer Pina was my favorite. A few months ago the staff at my work rented out the theater as part of a Wellness Day and watched Hot Rod. Everyone loved it and the theater accommodated us with popcorn and beer from Boneyard Brewing (shout out!) + it was only $100 bucks for the two hours. I want to get some of my friends together to rent it out and watch Black Swan... They've got some upcoming events that I'm really looking forward to. The theater on occasion hosts musicians and entertainers. I'm so grateful a place like this exists!!! Keep it local Bend, Oregon! read more

Tiny, tiny screen. Almost the size of the screens sold in Costco or Sam's Club. Waited in line for 30 minutes. Super slow line. They only seat 60 -70. Got near the lone person who sells tickets AND runs the concessions and then found out that there were no seats left. So why were 't folks in line informed a bit sooner? Wow. Buyer Beware. read more

I love this theater and the unique films that are offered and comfortable old seats. My only suggestion is to turn the lights down lower and to turn the volume up higher. With is so bright and quiet, I find I am often distracted by other people in the theater. Also, serve the food in something other than noisy paper bags. read more

Though it may have nice people and food, the screen really isn't much larger than many home theaters. I walked in and it looked like a corporate training session or in-service, with a few chairs and a tiny little screen. I wasn't expecting an IMAX but come on, how about at least a 15 foot screen. I love this little place! And little is right - I think we counted only 28 seats. The screen is the perfect size for the theater (so don't go expecting a huge multiplex screen but this theater doesn't need one) and the seats are surprisingly comfortable. The screen is elevated so we had no problem seeing it from several rows back, despite having people in front of us. The "concession stand" sells beer, wine, popcorn and candy, including red vines (my favorites) by the piece (50 cents each). It does close during the movie so make your selections before the film starts. I'm impressed by the movies they choose - during the week we went all of them scored 95% or above on Rottentomatoes. Be sure to get there early. They open 30 minutes prior to showtime and, because it's so tiny, it's likely to sell out. It's located in the alley right next to Lone Pine Coffee. We threw a Surprise BD party for our daughter, Beth,on Dec. 12. The owner, Micah,worked with us all the way. The theme was built around the movie, The Big Lubowski movie. 35 of her best friends enjoyed great pasta and salad as well as adult beverages...all at a reasonable cost.
