I want to love this local establishment in a historic building, but have been surprised by the poor…read moreservice twice now. The first time we ever went there we were mocked for not knowing how it worked. We were there for my son's 6th birthday, but luckily kids are oblivious to that. We tried again and had a much better experience checking in as it was with a different gentleman, but unfortunately, we had a negative experience leaving. Our child accidentally spilled some food and we apologized to a different guy as we were leaving and he rolled his eyes at us and said "Jesus." We felt awful. I work with the public and if I spoke to someone like that, I would be fired. Anyway- I want to love it, and the building was beautiful and felt clean, but we can't justify going back.

All that together is enough to blow any Regal Cinemas out of the water already. Their prices for everything, from tickets to concessions and even food and cocktails are also so much cheaper than any major theater chain, I'm not sure why you would come see a movie anywhere else. My only thought would be capacity, which is further reduced by social distancing requirements during this pandemic. Still, it's hard to beat, and we were lucky enough to grab a couple tickets to see our first movie in a theater in more than a year. And while I was nowhere near as excited to see "Tom and Jerry" as my wife was, it was still a very relaxing, enjoyable time. I forgot how much I have missed that communal theater experience. If you find yourself yearning to relive that experience yourself, you're not going to find a better place to do it than at a McMenamins theater, and the Old St. Francis theater is among the best.

Having to sit next to a family who brought several small children below the age of five who kept talking throughout the entire film ruined it for everyone else there. you clearly need to have theater monitors going into these auditoriums because this was truly out of control, and I was not the only person sitting in the theater who felt extremely uncomfortable, and who thought that was extremely inappropriate to have young children present while there were graphic sex scenes happening. The children were clearly reacting to the graphic sex scenes and violence, and it ruined the movie for the rest of us and was extremely disturbing - the fact that nothing was monitored and this was allowed to happen is very problematic and upsetting. If people cannot be decent parents and fellow moviegoers than they need to be removed, sorry. The children were clearly very upset when witnessing those graphic scenes, and were talking throughout the entire film. One completely inconsiderate family who's willing to traumatize their young children should not be allowed to also traumatize the entire theater as well and make us feel like we wasted our money on a ruined experience. Super Gross. Please do better.

A man, that I assumed to be the owner, talked briefly about the movie, introduced us to the house dog, and warned us to protect our popcorn from the dog. I was awaken about 4:00am, I thought my husband was taking a shower, I felt him, so I know it wasn't him. It must have been a loud fan! 2. We couldn't look outside the windows, we have our drapes closed all of our stay, the outside seats for the restaurant were right outside, and it can get noisy during Happy Hour. 3. The sink is too small, none of the glass shelves are fit for my Waterpik. Positives: 1. The pillows were perfect. The TV channels were right on my show. 2. The temperature of the room was good, no drafts. 3. The night light also goes on, when all the lights are off. That's a bonus, because we always forget to bring our night light. 4. I love the colors, decor, ceiling fan light of the room. 5. In the morning, Fresh coffee was available on a table right outside our door. If I wasn't reading on the back of their menu, I would not have known or heard about their St. Francis Turkish style bath. It was an amazing burger. The egg was done perfectly, with that beautiful yolk, just oozing down into the burger. I had asked if the Cajun tots were spicy, and told, "not really." They were delicious, but they were a bit spicy. Toward the top end of what I care for in spice. They came with a very nice peppercorn ranch that helped cut the spice. I wasn't going to have dessert, until I saw the "mystery dessert" on the menu. Intrigued, I asked Cassie what it was, and she said it was a peanut butter hopscotch pie. OK... how could I turn that down??? I put my order in. As I mentioned, the place was very busy, and 15 minutes later I still didn't have my dessert. I needed to get going, so At that point, I just asked them to take it off my meal. They not only took it off my check, they gave me a slice in a to go box anyway. That was very nice. They didn't have to do that The peanut butter and chocolate played very well together, the peanut butter was creamy, I loved the little "crunchies on top", and it also came with a chocolate syrup to drizzle over the pie. It looks like they may still have the same seating. I couldn't really tell as it was dark. The pricing was decent about $9 for an adult. You really aren't going to get much cheaper than that nowadays. I love it and glad they reopened it in 2007. I will definitely return again.
