This theater is fantastic! Rod is the best greeter in the business and the lobby is always clean and welcoming. The length of ads and movie prices are not in the hands of the local theater management, so I am not sure why people are blaming them for these issues. Regal Cinemas Bend has been there a loooooong time. You can feel it notably in the restrooms - those have been used quite a lot and could use updating. The overall vibe of the theater is tired. That said, the seats are comfortable, and things were clean in the theater itself! I will say the online reservation fee is frustrating... everyone books online these days. My wife and I are vacationing in Bend and stopped in here to catch a movie and cool off from the 100 degree heat. The location was clean with pleasant staff. The theater we were in had not been updated to large recliners like many others regal locations. The pop corn was fresh and tasty. I should have read my previous review before coming back. It's been over ten years, so I'd forgotten how crappy of an experience I'd had before. Ha, joke's on me. Never again. We drove up from Klamath Falls to watch Maverick on the imax screen. Fantastic movie, terrible theater. It was scheduled to start at 12:20 pm. We arrived and found our seats a few minutes early. And then we sat and sat and sat. Twenty minutes went by and everyone was wondering what was going on. A customer went to check; NOBODY from the theater ever came in to apologize or say anything to a packed audience. She returned and said they were oblivious that it hadn't started. Wow. We waited longer, about thirty min total, past the start time before the sound started glitching as it kicked on. Thankfully nothing else happened after that and we were able to watch the film uninterrupted. Come on. Some customer service, please!! But with their track record apparently that doesn't exist. At the very least, come in to say something to your guests about the issue. Even better, offer a voucher for a 2 for 1 ticket, or maybe a free popcorn. But no, pay $25 to sit in a dated room with mediocre chairs and sticky floors, messing up your afternoon plans because of the delay. Never again. Never again. read more

Went to see Indiana Jones today. I'm have profound hearing loss, so in order to follow the film I need a source of subtitles. Today the Captiview device needed batteries, no problem, they run about 30 minutes of trailers anyway. The devise usually doesn't start working until the movie begins. As usual, and today was no exception, the captiview didn't work. So as the movie plays, (no hitting pause in the theater) I'm off to get a replacement. No replacement available today, but I'm offered the glasses with subtitles. Not my first choice, but I would like to not waste a trip to the movies. The glasses are suboptimal at best, and todays pair had a blurred out presentation for the left eye, the right eye was blurry but readable, but it was truncating the text on the right side. I think my days as a theater goer are numbered, the wait for home viewing is getting shorter, my 4k big screen has a beautiful picture, and even has a pause and rewind function if I want to see a scene again. I started going to the movies with my mom before I could read, in fact my first recognizable words were "The End". We may well be in the midst of a paradigm shift, and if the theaters wish to remain relevant, they may need to reinvent themselves to provide an experience more enjoyable than watching at home on the big screen with surround sound and popcorn that doesn't cost upwards of $10.00. read more

Overpriced, low quality concessions are expected at a movie theater. Fair enough. But lease stop advertising hot dogs, pizza, etc and then don't have them available. Tried to order some hot gos after waiting 20+ minutes in line. There were several on the heater the whole time we were in line. The cashier went and checked; came back and said they would take another 25 minutes to cook. Okay, I've waited 25 already ... I'll wait. Oh, sorry "we can't sell them until they're done". What? Pulling out my reading glasses at the ticket window and looking at the stupid little seating chart through the glass partition (a chart which is upside down from the proper perspective for envisioning the actual theater, mind you) is not a positive advancement of theater experience. Went to see Creed 3 today. Great movie except there were teenagers talking the entire time on all sides of the theater. Another complaint that is probably affecting the theaters bottom line is the switch from Coke to Pepsi products. The flavors available now are not enticing at all. We were subjected to 30 minutes of commercials and seven previews of movies I wouldn't go to if they paid me. Super annoying.

I have to say that I really do enjoy this theater. Many screens allow them to show multiple movies at the same time, they do offer some reserve seating in some theaters and they also have a fantastic food menu. This theater also has a bar inside where you can get a beer or cider to watch while you enjoy (hopefully) your movie of choice. Having been to this theater a few times now I have not had a bad experience with any staff members as well. The team seems to be very positive and customer service orientated, there to make your moviegoing experience as pleasant as possible. Located in the old Mill District, this theater surrounded by many other businesses that encompass any needs you might have. Restaurants, coffee shops clothing stores and Gym's - you could spend your whole day around this area and have plenty of things to do. I will be back to this theater over and over again. read more

I've been to this theater about a dozen times since living in the area and have never had any problems. But I do agree with other reviewers that having to now select your seat is weird and sometimes plain unnecessary (we had to pick our seats for a theater that was basically empty). Thankfully on my recent visit we weren't stuck waiting in a huge line while people pick out their seats, but I can see that easily happening during their busy times. I still enjoy myself here though. They have nice screens, comfortable seats, good sound, and it's always nice to have the option of grabbing a beer or glass of wine to take with you to your movie. Even if I can see it getting annoying having to pick out seats now, I don't think it will ever deter me from coming here. New check-in process SUCKS! Every patron must now select a seat while purchasing their ticket. Everybody in line has to witness over & over, groups of people negotiate seating position on a crappy map on a small computer screen through a dirty window. Inconsiderate and SLOW, SLOW, SLOW. I could see where this may come in handy during prime time showings of blockbuster movies but at 11am on a Tuesday it's just a waste of everybody's time. Horribly inefficient! We, like many others, pick a seat at the ticket kiosk & once in the theater sit wherever we want. Regal Employees don't seem to be enforcing the seating policy. They also never ask people to get their dirty shoes & feet of the armrest or headrest belonging to the seat in front of them either. Have you ever taken the survey attached to the receipt? Went in tonight to.see Halloween Kills, a Rated R flick. Clearly, management doesnt care about kids ruining a movie experience. Unaccompanied kids...and I do mean kids...were sitting in and talking the whole time. Some teenagers in front of us also kept their jaws flapping and cell phones on. Do theaters not keep tabs on this crap anymore? I miss the old days whe an usher was patrolling with a flashlight to tell you to shut the hell up or leave. But no...let underage, rude kids ruin your experience. Could I have tracked down the manager to complain? Sure...but I would've missed part of the movie and judging by things so far, he wouldn't have addressed the matter anyway. I will be going to Mcmenamins from now on. read more

Terrible! The most important thing in a movie theater is the seating and I this is the worst I've ever seen! The seats are flip-ups so naturally they're uncomfortable but this is next level. There is a very stiff piece of fabric on top of hard plastic and no lumbar support whatsoever. The way the seats were designed makes it so you have to sit up straight the entire film which could be 1-3 hours. After the 1 hour mark your butt starts to feel likes it's going to fall off! I've been to other Regal locations that have seats that recline and are heated so there is absolutely no excuse for these poor seating options! If they refuse to actually put in comfortable chairs they should at least make tickets less expensive because by going to Regal you pay more for less. The snacks are a whole other can of worms. Their alright but 9 dollars for a large popcorn?!? That's insane. I understand they have to make money but that's a crazy markup value considering the original price was probably around 60 cents... read more

Someone pulled the fire alarm right before the movie started so the volume of the movie was cutout so the alarms could sound. The theater did not pause the movie nor resume playing the audio to the movie once the alarms and sirens stopped. I hope the first half hour of Avatar wasn't important. read more

People are slobs and leave their trash and popcorn everywhere in the theater, and that's not the theater's fault. Regal has just ended me going to movie's in Bend. Whoever made the decision to go with assigned seating, has to be an idiot. Probably one of those bean counter's that sit behind a desk who makes decisions, and doesn't go to movie. So here's your experience. You wait in a long line. Your waiting on people, family of four or groups of people, looking at a computer screen behind the ticket window. This screen has all of the seats listed on the screen. So you waiting, kids saying "no i don't want to sit there, no not there either, no that's to close. Now times that by the number of people standing in front of you. Then don't plan on getting to sit where you normally want to sit. This goes along with previous reviews on a business that cares nothing about customer service. I don't understand why they only open up one cash register for the food and drinks when there are fifteen people in line. It's ridiculous every single time I have been to this movie theater I have waited in like for at least 15-20 minutes for popcorn. There are employees walking around and even behind the concession stand but not helping. There is literally one person working the concessions at all times. I assume they are doing it to mess with people or they think it's funny. All of the employees are friendly which is cool. The theaters are all pretty clean also there's never a mess or sticky floors which is cool since some theaters are disgusting.
