This simple restaurant is on a side street off the main drag in Elko. I was shocked to find it, since Elko is not a hotbed of this kind of food. I live in the Detroit area where we have more Chaldean and Lebanese and other Middle Eastern restaurants than anywhere on earth outside of the middle east. This place holds up to them. I had the Kafta plate, and everything was delicious. The hummus and tabouli were excellent. Had the baklava which was also great. It is very clean, and the people who run the place are super nice. I can't recommend this place more, and will never pass through Elko without stopping. read more

The best restaurant in Elko! We stopped in on our travels after seeing 5 stars in Yelp. Odeh's did not disappoint. This is a family run restaurant with recipes that come from Palestine. The service was friendly as they greeted us at the door and proceeded throughout our entire experience. We ordered, and would recommend, the lamb and rice plate and the Mediterranean salad. They were both extremely delicious. We would also recommend a plate of dolmas and pita bread. Ooooohhhhhhh, the pita bread... this is not your average pita bread. It is a little thicker than your typical bread however it is much lighter than the pita bread you will find elsewhere. It tasted absolutely fresh from the oven. Food: Ordered the Shawarma with chicken but was disappointed in the meal. It was filled with pickles and some vegetables but very little chicken. Staff: staff was inviting and very kind. Not impressed. With the rating everyone gave it I assumed the food would be amazing, delicious,... The Greek salad I ordered was wilted (no exaggeration here), the tomato had no flavor and there was no green peppers or red onion. The sauce was just olive oil and lemon juice, it was bland, no zest. The falafel I ordered barely passed the muster. The tomato and lettuce (the filling) was not fresh, and the pita was very bready. We got a to go order from this restaurant on our way from sacramento to salt lake on a Saturday night. It was a great surprise!!! We were so happy to have anything but fast food and this surpassed our expectations by far. We ordered the lamb shanks and lamb kabob. It came with amazing sides. I'd say my only recommendation if it's possible would be to order a side of pita bread. The hummus was great but wish I had a bit of bread to go with it. It is the only heart diet friendly restaurant with top tier flavor which I have found to date in Elko. The menu was varied; I chose the most unique heart-friendly entree's to try. The dishes I chose to try were for a light vegetarian lunch. The Baba Ganoush, which is made from smoked eggplant was tart side with an unusual flavor. I liked the flavor, but it might not be for everyone. The Tabbouleh side is like a fine chop salad of tomatoes, green onions and bulgar in a light lemon/olive oil dressing. Great lunch side! I have no idea how such a gem ends up in Elko, but Odeh's is an oasis of Mediterranean goodness as you travel across the I-80 desert. Everything we had was fresh and amazingly good. Hummus was perfect and the incredible Palestinian-style pita bread (fluffier and spongier than traditional pita) is made daily there in the restaurant. It is about a mile off the highway, and it is so worth the adventure. Do yourself a favor and go to Odeh's! read more

Odeh's Mediterranean Restaurant is delicious. I would definitely recommend this place if you are near or in town. It is pretty good. We came here without really knowing what to expect and man were we plesantly surprised. The staff is good and accommodating. We were to to sit where ever you like. We came here during when it was pretty slow. I think these guys cater to the towns people. Which can range from the miners, police, fire, etc. But I feel mainly the minors because it was pretty dead until the rush hour times like 11am-1pm and we were here at another time from 4pm-6pm and it was fairly busy then too. So, if you come in between those times you probably better off. When we ordered our food it wasn't to long after that we got our food. Which was pretty good. I would definitely recommend stopping by. Wow! Unexpected yummy joy on my drive through Elko. Had the falafel and tzatziki and made myself a delicious sandwich. Falafel was fluffy and moist on inside with good flavor and crispy on outside. Not bad for a place in the middle of nowhere. I ordered the lamb and rice plate. I was hoping for, rather assumed that the lamb would be shawarma lamb. I was wrong. It was strips of lamb. Not bad, but not the flavor was not what I had expected. I expected more complex flavors. (I'm used to the Halal Guys in NYC and several other Mediterranean places in both NYC and SLC. For the price, the portions were not much. I say it was the right portion, but the price is not accurate for the portion. It was $13 for the lamb and rice plate. This came with hummus and salad. Again, not as flavorful as I had expected. I had also expected that the hummus would come with flatbread (or even a quarter of one). This was not the case. My wife got the beef and rice plates and the parents got chicken and rice. The responses were all similar. While the family the runs the place is sweet and very accommodating, I had hoped for something more authentic in flavor and presentation. Still better than a McDonalds stop. read more

I tried this location recently for the first time. I was highly impressed with the extremely clean, pleasant smell, and overall organized fashion of the establishment. I was immediately greeted after entering the door by a warm smile and pleasant server that escorted me to a table nearby. I was presented a menu and a wine and alcohol list. I made a selection of a menu item and an appetizer. The food was outstanding in presentation, taste, and portions. The overall cost of the meal was reasonable, and I would highly recommend to anyone. What an amazing find in the middle of nowhere!! We had our flight cancelled with the southwest melt down so we decided to drive and needed to stop for dinner for our family! We had the spinach tart to start then my husband had a chicken roll and I had the chicken and rice to share with my daughter. The flavors were amazing and perfectly spiced!
