This is a *working* bakery and, walking inside, you stand amidst all of the equipment that goes into baking. Yes you can walk in (not too far in, it's tiny). Yes you can buy breads (& pretzels). Yes it may take a few minutes as the Bakers will walk out from baking "in the back" to assist you in your purchase. Yes they have a cowbell. Yes you may just have to "ring" it over and over. And over again. No big deal. Just get your bread because the bread is what you're there for. I've been here 3 times since I moved to the area and I love it. The employees have all been nice and accommodating and attentive (once they're out front with you). Also. If I cannot get to the bakery I have to be sure to hit up our local Whole Foods store *early* because ....1. that's where I'll find their French loaf (I love that they supply our local WF w/their breads!); 2. their breads are so good that if I go any later than 10am (11am, latest!), the store will be out of our favorites! After 35 minutes I counted 11 additional people standing nearby waiting on orders so I asked the man who was there when I ordered, who was still waiting, how long he had been waiting... 45 minutes!!! Because we were on rental bikes and paying by the minute, I decided to ask about the wait time. I was told my order had not been started... it would be "about another 30 minutes"...that they were backed up "50" sandwiches... and that they tell everyone orders will take 30 to 45 minutes. Because they don't personally take the orders, you order on a slip of paper tossed into a basket, and there is no sign posted advising people of the wait time, the wait time advisement realistically does not exist. Given this level of business you would think more staff would be working but I saw one person making pizza and only two people towards the back making sandwiches. That said, at best, I heard four or five names called for finished sandwiches in over 35 minutes. Honestly, I felt this was beyond unreasonable and requested to cancel the order for a refund. By the time I received a refund, it was disappointing our outing adventure was a failure and I paid an extra $20 in rental fees to just stand around waiting for a sandwich that never came. Quant store and patio but, but not worth the wait... won't be back.

I had seen over the years that Simply Strudels had opened a store front but never had the opportunity to stop by as their hours of operation conflicted with work. But one fine early morning I happened to be driving on Petaluma Blvd., South & noticed the open sign & thought to myself "self, you haven't had breakfast so stop in & get some strudel." So glad I listened to myself! So on this particular day I opted to buy 2 savory portions (1 for that morning & 1 for the next day. Bacon, cheddar & potato and garlic, spinach potato) as well as one sweet portion (fresh meyer lemon cheese strudel). OMG TOO DIE FOR!!! The savory strudels were perfection, I mean I could eat those every day for breakfast! I that fresh meyer lemon cheese strudel was Heaven on a plate, so fresh, crisp & lemony! The place is not overly huge, there are places to sit & eat. They have various savory & sweet strudels for sale as full logs or a portion. Some may think the prices are high but you're getting a handmade strudel that's made with all fresh ingredients & you don't have to stand in the kitchen & make it, someone else has done the work for you. I asked what was standard, and she recommended a full lemon. I then ordered a Vietnamese coffee with cheese foam and Biscoff foam. After waiting, my first drink came out completely wrong. Um it was a matcha. A male employee eventually corrected the Vietnamese coffee order. I then asked about my watermelon slush, only to be told that it had never been rung in. What was most frustrating was that instead of simply acknowledging the mistake, the employee blamed me multiple times for not ordering it. I clearly remembered the conversation because we had specifically discussed the lemon, and she had recommended the full lemon. I explained the entire interaction to her, yet she continued to insist that I was somehow responsible. At that point, I made it very clear that I did not want to continue speaking with her. She continued insisting on engaging with me anyway. I felt completely unheard and, honestly, harassed by the interaction. The way the conversation was handled made me question my own recollection of what had just happened, it felt extremely gaslighting. She eventually made the drink, but then slammed it onto the counter, causing it to fall over. Thankfully, it had a lid on it. At that point, I was extremely uncomfortable and asked the male employee for the owner's contact information. He said he couldn't provide it, so I left my name and phone number and requested that the owner contact me. The Vietnamese coffee was actually very good, which makes this experience even more disappointing. However, I did not drink the watermelon slush because, after the way the interaction was handled, I no longer felt comfortable consuming it. Mistakes happen. What matters is how you handle them. Taking accountability, respecting a customer's boundaries, and treating them with basic courtesy should be the bare minimum. Unfortunately, I experienced none of that. It's a shame because the atmosphere is cute and the coffee was good, but one employee's behavior completely ruined my first impression of the business. One person really can ruin an entire customer experience. I hope the owner follows up because this was incredibly disappointing, especially given the positive reputation of this establishment.

Also, from my understanding, they have fresh bread there in the morning and they put them out on a stand unfortunately, we got there too late, but I hear nothing but good things about their sourdough bread.
