They also have some really unique sugars, including date sugars, which I bought for my diabetic grandma. They weren't sure whether the date sugar contained added cane sugar, so they called the owner right then to confirm before selling it to me, which I really appreciated. Great place to stop for some coffee, and a bonus that it's tucked inside one of the coolest antique shops in the greater Bay Area.

I initially didn't contact her because her site said she was sold out for several weeks. However, in desperation, I wrote to her after many bakers in the area let me down with their non-responsiveness, leading me on with a first response, and then not replying to my questions. I literally was left within 10 days of needing a cake and was getting super worried. I was so delighted when she responded the next day saying she would see what she can do! I immediately sent her a list of 9 questions as well as a sketch of what I was hoping to see to match the feel of the event (see below). She responded and answered all my questions the next morning (she even apologized for the late response) I know other bakers probably are not used to seeing sketches, but I am a very selective designer myself and have ordered cakes for so many other occasions (never with a sketch), only to have been disappointed with their lack of understanding style, taste and presentation quality. A mid-century birthday is pretty big and I was determined to get something unique, delicious, masculine and gorgeous, and found it with Live Love Bake! To feed a small group of 22 people, I ordered a 9" single tier Yellow cake with a caramel drizzle and crushed sea salted butter toffee pecan filling, (pecans supplied by me), American buttercream frosting done smooth with gold pearls coming up from the bottom (also supplied by me due to the urgency). It was gorgeous, delicious, and just as I sketched! All I had to do was add the succulents to the top:) The next day after the party, a few friends contacted me asking for Lindsay's contact info. They loved the cake, which for Marin Foodies, is a huge compliment! I will continue to order all future special cakes from Live Love Bake and Lindsay's amazing understanding to detail as well as customer service! The ube tres leche is milky and the ube flavor is pretty prominent. It isn't too sweet and I love the texture! The coffee here is unfortunately not good at all and tasted slightly burnt. Their latte just tasted like milk but when I was able to get the slightest hint of coffee, it was not enjoyable. If you do come here I highly recommend only sticking to their sweets.
