Rice and beans for the fajitas
    Irene Y.

This dog-friendly place is a must. The food, the service, and the drinks are all reasons to come back to and the fact that I can bring my little pup here is a huge bonus. Our server recommended the steak and noodles and I'm glad I ordered it. Meat was tender and noodles were bouncy with a flavorful sauce. The Mai tai had a generous pour and whomever made this glass, was not messing around. I was pink faced by the time I was done. Nachos were also a hit and we almost finished the plate clean. My friend enjoyed her veggie fajitas. Will definitely come back again.

Food was very meh and expensive for what you get. I loved the service and the ambiance, but paid $26 for a very salty steak & noodles.

Carne Asada Street Tacos, happy hour 3 for $10 Chicken Burrito w/ chips and salsa $18

First time at Ochos 888: Went around 3:30pm on a Tuesday during happy hour. We ordered the 3 tacos for $10 off the happy hour menu, all carne asada, and they were so tasty we ended up ordering another round of the exact same thing! We also got the chicken burrito, which was super flavorful. The chicken was tender and juicy, and everything tasted really fresh. My husband and I both agreed we'd definitely come back and would happily order the same things again plus more! Our server was also very attentive and kind. We were the only table at the time and from experience, sometimes when a restaurant isn't busy, customers tend to get forgotten but that wasn't the case at all. She was knowledgeable about the menu and took great care of us. We didn't partake in any of the games, but they had an array of games available for customers, which would be really fun with a group of friends or family. And lastly, the bathroom was SUPER clean! That's always a big plus for me. Overall, great first experience and we'll definitely be back!

Wanting Mexican for dinner tonight so decision where ? No Taco Bell lol so I looked on Yelp and I seen Auntie Nadine .C post . Must be ok so i ordered take out the lady over the phone said it will take about 15mins . Got there around 20minutes and YES my order was ready yay . Service was friendly and efficient. Ochos 888 is located on the corner of Kapahuluu and Kaimuki Ave. Parking is on Kaimuki Ave although very limited about 4-5 stalls behind the restaurant. I ordered their 2 chicken taco plate comes with Mexican rice and refried beans . The taco itself did not have taste so I added the Salsa and it was good . My wife had their chicken quesadilla which she said was very good . Support local

Everything was so good- from the Parmesan Scallops to the Steak and noodles. Everything was full of flavor. The spicy cucumber margarita was also delicious. Our waitress Ariel was attentive and kind. Definitely 10 out of 10.

Ochos in Honolulu was amazing! We went for Taco Tuesday and had the steak and chicken tacos, and they were so good. The steak honestly tasted like home, like being back in Mexico. They also had Parmesan-crusted scallops that were served with fire tableside, and they tasted even better than they looked. We came back a different day and tried the classic ceviche, it was seasoned to perfection and fish was fresh! We also had the carnitas and steak tacos. The carnitas tasted authentic! Not over salted just perfect! The atmosphere was great with Latin music playing and the breeze coming in from outside. Our hosts, Sam and his wife, were incredible and made the experience even better. Sam, we will be back!

love that there is Peruvian cuisine in town! There isn't a lot of these types of businesses here and i'm happy theres one nearby that's not an hours drive up north or to the west side. Their menu is pretty decently sized with lots of different things to choose from. we ordered the scallops which is presented flaming tableside and a mix of calamari and ceviche to start. Everything was delicious! the only thing is that the calamari got a little soggy since it's sitting on some of the ceviche juices, but the apps were delicious otherwise! For our entrees i got the loaded fries and my friend got a burrito bowl with asada. I think it would be nice if there was options to add on veggies or something to the bowl, but otherwise the entrees were great too! There is about 8 parking stalls in the back of the building which is great! kapahulu is known to not have any parking so this is a bonus! i also love that they are super dog friendly! i hope they get to stick around! this particular spot has a huge turnover and i've seen different businesses over time, so hopefully they do well because their food and service here is really good.

Nachos!! Yes! The cheese sauce was amazing! Chips fresh and crisp. Great service. Burrito was filled with great meat and beans! Super glad we decided to swing in to grab some yummy food!

We were craving Peruvian ceviche and came across Ochos 888 here on Yelp. It checked all the boxes: fresh ceviche, somewhere new, proximity to current location, bar and indoor seating. Upon entering, we were greeted by the owners, Sam and Gina with their big smiles and happy energy. The menu is a blend of authentic Mexican and Peruvian dishes. We started with a couple Pisco Sours that were mixed perfectly and the broiled Parmesan Scallops, so Ono. The Acevichado Tiraditos were amazing. The classic Ceviche was amazing. The Nikkei Tiraditos, amazing. Literally everything was delicious. Gina also whipped us up some Chicha Mirada Margaritas, amazing. Not only was the food delicious and the ambience laid back, but Sam and Gina were super cool. The vibe felt like we were chillen with old friends. We'll definitely be back again and again. We haven't even left yet, I'm actually sitting here at the table watching the Wolrd Cup.

Great Latin/Mexican restaurant in Honolulu near Leonard's Bakery, Excellent service! I ordered the steak quesadilla's and they were prepared well and had a great flavor. Although the restaurant is small the tables were not close together. Service was fast, friendly and attentive.

This is a new place in Kapahulu that we wanted to try. We're from California and been craving for an authentic Mexican food. This was highly recommended from people around the area. Anyway, we tried yesterday and excited to try. We ordered the food on the pictures. We were happy we came during happy hour when tacos are only $4 ea. and the rest are $5 off. So anyway, the ambiance and location is great and does represent the borders!!! The lady who helped us is very friendly and hospitable! The price is very reasonable; however, the food was subpar. It did not look or taste like Mexican food. The cheese was watery and the nachos were soaked with too much soup. The tacos were also disappointing; the meat was too big and tough. I have to be honest and true to myself... I DO NOT RECOMMEND!!!

Not really a dive but a great hole in the wall establishment. Service was fast, friendly and accommodating. I opted for the Lomo Saltado and it was one of the best meals I've had in the last few days here in Waikiki. Honestly I chose this restaurant because of its location away from all the hustle and bustle of the Ala Moana center area. What a great decision as we arrived early enough to find a spot in their parking lot. It was also meant to be as I tried to go to Leonard's bakery this morning but kept on driving when I saw the line. Ochos 888 was a block away so I grabbed some Malasadas to enjoy after dinner. The place was full by the time we left so it's no secret they're serving up tasty fare. Highly recommend.

Welcomed and seated by Andy - he offered one of the boys a sample of the chicha morada - try before you buy. It was so nice. And delicious! They really liked it! We easily found parking in the back. And are happily here for a first try on this friday night. This place is decorated for Halloween. So cute! The carnitas nachos and burrito were awesome, and the classic ceviche was on point. The fajita (veggies) were so flavorful and nice and steamy hot. The beer was cold and just what was needed to top it off! Looks like we found another Friday night stop!!

Our son ordered the nachos appetizer as his main meal, my husband got the Mexico burrito, and I ordered the carnitas plate. I tried a bit of everyone's food, and honestly, we had zero complaints. Every dish was packed with flavor and cooked to perfection. The meat was tender, not overly salty or chewy at all. The guacamole was even creamy! To put the value into perspective: a few days earlier, I bought three carne asada tacos with very little meat from a food court in Waikiki, and they were only a few dollars cheaper than my entire, massive plate here. The pricing is incredible for the generous portions you get, making it a great budget friendly option compared to everywhere else we ate while visiting Honolulu. My husband even noted that he had never had Mexican food this good in the States especially considering Honolulu is so far from the border! The guy working behind the bar seated us, but then never brought menus, never brought water, and never came back to take our order. When my friend tried waving him down, he ignored us. Eventually another employee came in, and the bartender just told him, "Go take his order," without acknowledging us at all. I don't know if he was only working the bar that day, but he could have at least brought water, menus, or simply said someone would be right with us. But we were looking for something different, quick, and tasty. That's what we got at K-Mex HI although to be quite frank - the parking lot here is terrible! Mostly due to their location in the middle of the street with a handful of street parking locations shared with multiple other businesses down the lane. It took us 3 rounds of driving before we ended up deciding it was better to drop me off to order and pick up the food and have my man drive around into another larger parking lot to wait the 15-ish minutes it would take for our food to be ready. The owners were so nice. Answering all of my insistent questions, smiling when I ended up ordering something different from what they recommended on the menu (my bad - it's a question I ask all businesses even though I usually decide what I want beforehand LOL). They asked if I needed a bag, if I needed utensils and napkins, and even checked in on me while they made the food! Awesome service and I'm sure it would be the same if we decided to eat in. I liked the atmosphere. It was small but homely, clean, and there were a few small fish tanks in the corner! 15-ish minutes later, food packed up - I jumped back in the car and we drove down to South Shore Market in Ward to eat at the tables and take a glance if Ocean Taste's line was... long (it was). And let me tell you... the food? Delicious. The amount of food? Good for the price! And overall pretty darn great experience. I wasn't the biggest fan of the spicy pork (not my preference). But my fiancé liked it and his only comment was that it was a bit greasy for his liking. Reminded him he was in-fact eating spicy pork which is normally served on his plate lunch in a piece of tinfoil so the oil doesn't get everywhere! The carne asada was super delish along with the gochujang hot sauce cups we found at the bottom of the bag. I'd get K-Mex HI again if I was in the area but I'd love to see them in another location where I can more easily park! That's the only real bummer about this place and has deterred me from returning. :(

Cute little taco place nestled between a couple buildings off to the back end. They have a "double…read moreparking " lot which means if you leave before the person parked behind you then you need to wait or hope they move for you. We got lucky because it was only take out/pick up orders so nobody stayed parked behind us for long. There is also street parking. I had 3 tacos and did 2 chicken and 1 beef. They have several sauces to choose from that range from hot to hotter imo lol...a Tapatio and some other brands. Mine actually tasted great without it. The restaurant has a few tables, a couple fish tanks, flat screen tvs and just an overall cute vibe. Everything looked clean.
