Trash obstacle course

Absolute below bare minimum horse care and staff will forget to feed your horse. The staff does not care about your horse and has zero idea of what basic horse care actually is. My mares pasture was COVERED in rocks, trash, and exposed rods, concrete blocks, and was the poop pile. I was so embarrassed taking anyone to see my mare because of the conditions of the place itself. If you notice - none of these reviews are current. My mare constantly was getting injured from all the dangerous articles in the pasture. Staff would forget to feed your horse and Chris wouldn't give any sort of apology unless you asked for one. Just beyond unprofessional and a terrible way of running a business. Chris cares more about her dogs (which the kennels are in disgusting condition with green water and emancipated dog). Her dog field had lights and grass, but the horse pastures have rocks and the arenas dont have lights. Photos below of the horrible conditions my mare lived in. Also photos of the "obstacle course" but it's just a bunch of trash put in an even rockier pasture as a selling point. If you want your horse to live better, you have to actually do the work yourself. I spent several hours one day pulling weeds and removing rocks. The arena is never dragged, maybe once a month. And is completely rocky. My mares pasture gate was left wide open and the staff blamed it on another horse (they were putting up fencing in the pasture and couldn't own up to this mistake.) Chris called my mare "special needs" because my mare needs grain. And continued to called my mare special needs to insult her and myself. Save your money and please don't board here. I have had such a horrible experience and my mare paid for it in constantly getting stabbed and injured from all the rocks and exposed steel rods (that was never fixed.)

Dogspot is truly Bambams' home away from home. The facility is exceptionally hygienic, but what…read morereally sets them apart are their strict vaccination and temperament standards that keep every pup safe. This place was a literal lifesaver for us: the staff once noticed Bams was lethargic with faint yellow gums--a detail so subtle that even Bams vet was impressed they caught it. It turned out to be mild jaundice, which proves that Carlene and her team are true professionals who deeply understand canine health. The front desk experience is always a highlight of our day. The staff--Gabs, Kayla, Daniela, and Enrique--are incredibly sweet, soft-spoken, and remarkably easy to talk to, even during those 6 am drop-offs. Being greeted by Kayla's pup, Yogi, or Carlene's pup, Poppy or Ingrid's pup is truly the best way to start the morning. They're such a joy; all they ever ask for is a little love and some well-deserved tummy scratches! The service is so thoughtful; they know Bams loves fetch but also ensure she gets her necessary quiet breaks after meals. Whether I'm at work or traveling internationally, I have total peace of mind thanks to the multi-angle webcam app and the heartwarming photo updates they send. Boarding is seamless (pro tip: label your food bags!), and the Paw Partner app makes booking a breeze. I also have to shout out Jessica from Snips and Snuggles--she is the sweetest groomer and always leaves Bams looking like a princess in her festive bandanas. A massive thank you to Carlene and the entire hardworking team-- Kayla, Gabs, Daniela, Enrique, Connor, Tim, and Ingrid (and anyone I missed!)--for the 14-hour days you pull to care for our furry family members. We appreciate and love you!

So on Monday, I had an emergency come up that took me out of town…read more My fur baby always stays at DogSpot when I go out of town but the typical rule is you gotta drop her off before noon for an overnight stay that's their simple policy Well, I wasn't planning on going out of town 4 o'clock hit something came up and I had to go Made a phone call and they said because they knew my dog and my dog is very good at the facility. It wouldn't be a problem too make an exception to the rule. And I understand why the rules in place they want your dog there between six in the morning and noon for an overnight stay so that the dog will be tired and all the other dogs that are staying over will be comfortable. I get it. And again, thank you for making the exception So I dropped my dog off food medication, and specific instructions I picked my little fur baby up on Thursday evening and like normal. She is exhausted. She had a great time. This place and their employees really do love dogs, and it shows from how they interact with all of the dogs and how the dogs interact with their staff Thank you again for making the exception and Eddie had a great time

Andres from Specialty dog training worked with my wife and I to train our new puppy, Daisy…read more As first time puppy owners we found ourselves pretty frustrated during our training with Daisy. We watched tons and tons of videos and things got slightly better but we really didn't see much behavior change until we worked with Andres. It's not that information online was good enough, it was that we didn't understand how to best execute the information. We also didn't know what information was good and what was garbage. Having Andres in our corner was truly helpful. He would answer any questions we had and I enjoyed his teaching style and his ability to breakdown concepts to us. He also genuinely loves the dogs he trains which made us feel comfortable leaving Daisy with him when she did board and train for a few weeks. Thanks for every Andres!

I enrolled my 3-year-old Rottweiler, Athena, in Specialty Dog Training's 6-week boot camp in…read moreOceanside from May 7-June 18, 2025, paying $4,400. She was healthy, fully vaccinated, and entered the program for leash control and mild resource guarding--especially important since I have a young nephew and a senior Great Dane at home. I asked multiple times to see her living space but was told no, as it would "disrupt other dogs"--something I now deeply regret accepting. Midway through training, my Great Dane was diagnosed with bone cancer. I called to stress the importance of Athena's continued progress. A trainer suggested extending her program, which I considered, but ultimately declined. I wanted her home while my Dane was still strong. On June 11, days before her return, I dropped off food and was told training had slowed because the trainer "assumed" I was extending--something I never confirmed. Then on June 15, I received a text saying she had mild nasal discharge and would see a vet. By 4:00 PM, I was called by that vet: Athena had a 106°F fever and was in critical conditionwith suspected pneumonia. I found her barely breathing, still wearing a prong collar, and rushed her to the ER. She required oxygen sewn into her nostrils, IV fluids, and overnight emergency care totaling $7,500. Vets confirmed pneumonia typically incubates over 2-14 days, meaning she was likely sick long before staff noticed. I was later told there had been an increase in kennel cough cases at the facility--yet I was never informed. No one at Specialty Dog Training has taken responsibility--financially or emotionally. I was left with: * A dog who nearly died * A traumatized animal with worsened behavioral issues * Thousands in emergency bills * A sick dog I had to isolate from my terminally ill Great Dane * And zero visible results from the training I paid for This experience was devastating, both emotionally and financially. Specialty Dog Training failed my dog, failed my trust, and offered no support or resolution in return. I strongly caution others to think twice before enrolling a pet in their care.

I cannot sing the praises of Michelle enough! When Monty returned from two weeks of Board and…read moreTrain with Michelle, he was a changed dog. He's not just a calmer dog, he's a CALM dog. We've had no out-of-control barking incidents; he can be tethered and remain quiet. He's very good on walks, moving from "heel" to "break" and back to "heel" again. He's very responsive to the "off" command, which we use primarily to keep him off the furniture and out of the kitchen. Last week we had friends over for dinner and after his initial excitement he was a good boy, lying nearby content and chewing on a bone. We even attended the Humane Society Walk for Animals at Kit Carson Park, and with hundreds of dogs and people and non-stop activities, he was again a very well-behaved boy. We are so appreciative of the work that Michelle did with Monty. He is now the dog we always hoped he would be - happy, well-behaved, and living his best life!

The moment Chewie saw Chris, he recognized him and greeted him with such joy! Minding his manners of course. He's too smart to behave like a brat in front of his trainer. I recently reached out to Chris for advice on redirecting Chewie when greeting people since he sometimes forgets his manners and has no sense of personal space. Chris took the time to demonstrate effective techniques and offered practical solutions I'll be implementing right away. Chewie and I are incredibly grateful for Chris's continued support and the excellent training from Cosmo K-9 Obedience. Chewie has come a long way. I can't image life without the professional guidance and support from Costco K-9 Obedience.

Our dog came back calm, orderly, and OBEDIENT! After a month long stay and many many wonderful updates multiple times per week we are confident he has made at least a 90% improvement on his bad behaviors and is able to calmly behave not only around us but his reactivity to other dogs has made a tremendous improvement. Shannon and Sierra are STELLAR! I'd also like to mention they did a home drop off for us (since I'm still heavily pregnant) and spent over an HOUR with my husband and I going over all of the new things he has learned + even took a walk with us in the neighborhood to address another issue we had with reactivity. We were left with a sheet of all his new & enforced behaviors to keep track of along with super chewer toys and treats. Excellent, excellent, excellent experience with this team and I highly recommend anyone who needs this service to pull the trigger and go for it! You will not regret your decision!

From the very beginning, Misty was incredible. She carved out time weeks before the wedding for us to meet each other and talk about our dog's (Louie) temperament, our expectations, and the full game plan for the big day. It gave us so much peace of mind knowing she was prepared and genuinely cared about making everything go smoothly. On the wedding day, she was amazing. She arrived early to the Airbnb and was able to get used to walking and handling Louie. She walked Louie down the aisle, handled him and helped him greet guests during the ceremony and cocktail hour, and kept everything completely stress-free for us. She kept us updated via text throughout the day, and when it was time to drop him back off at our Airbnb in the evening, she sent photos and updates so we knew he was settled and happy. She even left us the sweetest wedding gift, which was such a thoughtful touch. Misty was kind, professional, organized, and clearly loves what she does. We are SO grateful for her and would absolutely book Dogs on the Run again. Highly, highly recommend!
