We were recommended this place by another dog mom at the dog park who also went through the training and has a very well-behaved doggo. Our dogs - Gojo and Benji - came home more obedient, calm, and confident -- they now respond to commands, walk beautifully on leash, and no longer jump on people or fight with each other. The dog trainers at IQK9 in Valley Center are amazing -- you can tell they truly care about every dog and have years of professional dog training experience. The whole process was easy, clear, and very well-organized. They even trained us during pickup so we understood how to stay consistent at home. This made all the difference because it is so important for us to continue their training at home to instill everything they learned. Our dogs absolutely loved their trainers and were so happy the entire time. If you're looking for obedience training, leash training, or dog behavior correction in Valley Center or North County San Diego, we 10/10 recommend this place!

Wow. I cannot say enough good things about everyone at IQ K9 and the changes they made for us and…read moreour puppy. Bodhi is an 11 month old 100 lb dog. We had reached a plateau in our abilities to train him and he was not only becoming unruly and not listening to commands and "no", he was beginning to resources guard around us and the other dogs. He was becoming a real problem and a liability. We enrolled Bodhi in the 3 week immersion program and after 3 weeks we received a call asking to keep Bodhi another week, free of charge! As Bodhi still had some issues following commands in times/ areas of high distraction. After 4 weeks, Bodhi is miraculously a completely changed, new and improved dog. His energy level is even different. Much more manageable and he is still the happy goofy puppy we fell in love with. He listens to commands. He drops toys when told to do so. He stays on place when instructed to do so. His resource guarding is gone. I can walk him with the leash dangling from my pinky finger. No pulling. Bodhi is so much easier to love now, not that he wasn't before. He is an amazing companion and such a delight to play with now. The team at IQ K9 really took the time to get to know Bodhi. They shared things with me about his personality that I wasn't picking up on. I felt like they loved him as much as I do and they explained things to me in such a way that helped me understand Bodhi and myself (style of training) better. This program is worth every penny and in my experience, the team didn't quit until they were pleased with the results. I would do it all over again and highly recommend the program.

They seemed to get along but they started having fights, which were getting worse and more intense every time. We made the decision to bring them to Happy Feet and they came home with the skills they needed to see us as the leaders, rather than fighting each other for that role. We bought the recommended climbs/cots and the difference in their behavior is incredible. If they're begging, getting too rowdy, barking at a guest, and before meals, we put them on their climbs and they don't get off until we tell them they can. They are so well behaved now! The amount of training Happy Feet was able to do in two weeks with them would have taken us months or even years. It has been over a year since we brought them to Happy Feet and they still know all of the commands that they were taught. They haven't had any more fights and are actually great friends now! I highly recommend Happy Feet to anyone who has a dog with any behavioral problems. The climbs are really just the greatest tool, the dogs feel so comfortable and safe on them and everyone comments on how well behaved they are.

They work with you to show u what our fur baby learned and be consistent and the dogs respond so good and you can tell the dogs are all happy. I cannot sing the praises of Michelle enough! When Monty returned from two weeks of Board and…read moreTrain with Michelle, he was a changed dog. He's not just a calmer dog, he's a CALM dog. We've had no out-of-control barking incidents; he can be tethered and remain quiet. He's very good on walks, moving from "heel" to "break" and back to "heel" again. He's very responsive to the "off" command, which we use primarily to keep him off the furniture and out of the kitchen. Last week we had friends over for dinner and after his initial excitement he was a good boy, lying nearby content and chewing on a bone. We even attended the Humane Society Walk for Animals at Kit Carson Park, and with hundreds of dogs and people and non-stop activities, he was again a very well-behaved boy. We are so appreciative of the work that Michelle did with Monty. He is now the dog we always hoped he would be - happy, well-behaved, and living his best life!

The moment Chewie saw Chris, he recognized him and greeted him with such joy! Minding his manners of course. He's too smart to behave like a brat in front of his trainer. I recently reached out to Chris for advice on redirecting Chewie when greeting people since he sometimes forgets his manners and has no sense of personal space. Chris took the time to demonstrate effective techniques and offered practical solutions I'll be implementing right away. Chewie and I are incredibly grateful for Chris's continued support and the excellent training from Cosmo K-9 Obedience. Chewie has come a long way. I can't image life without the professional guidance and support from Costco K-9 Obedience.

Bark Busters came to us highly recommended. After some research and reviewing Ted Talk and…read morearticles, I signed up our two rescue mix breed ~20lb boys. We are grateful to James of BB who placed us with Jenna. Our boys issues: high reactivity outside, especially other dogs, and inside, door bell, ring cameras, etc. Coupled with greetings by jumping and owning the house. Jenna set us on a path of activities for inside and was incredibly patient letting me share and ask questions, learning constantly. As we fine-tuned and we all got more comfortable we moved our training to outside. The methodology used is absolutely amazing and, I dare say, short of a miracle. We practice regularly and introduce the boys to different circumstances. All that food luring and positive food reinforcement training certainly has its place but only the techniques of BB with Jenna has helped our boys become trusting, comfortable, and happy. Here I thought I had to scan the horizon constantly to be aware of incoming dogs to prepare myself to hide behind a car or go in the corner behind garbage cans to get maximum distance. Not true. I walk no longer with my head on a lazy susan. We all are forever grateful. Our boys can lead richer more social lives. Thank you!!!

As first-time dog owners, the early support really did help us. Having someone we could call during those overwhelming first months was a relief. Over time, though, I realized I was hoping the training would shift toward more positive reinforcement. The constant, harsher corrections worked at first but eventually didn't seem effective anymore and started affecting my relationship with Mimi. I noticed this during a family trip where Mimi, who is usually fearful of strangers, bonded more easily with my husband and his family. She gravitated toward them when scared, and I realized it might be because they weren't following the correction-heavy approach, while I was. I also asked for help with Mimi's fear and reactivity toward other dogs, but was told they didn't have dogs available for training and that I would need to bring a calm, socialized dog myself. As a non-trainer, that was very hard, but we tried by traveling many hours to introduce her to my husband's family dog. The experience ended up being chaotic since the family didn't fully understand what the process required, and new people and dogs kept appearing even though Mimi wasn't ready. Her reactivity came back in that environment, which made me feel like the training had only put a bandaid on deeper fear issues. Maybe I should have clarified expectations better from the start, but with a high-need dog and being new to all of this, I didn't know what to expect. Since then, we've switched to a positive reinforcement trainer who organizes structured group activities. Mimi is still scared of bigger dogs and can still be reactive, but she's improving slowly and has been able to meet a few smaller dogs. She's also still fearful of people, but she nips a lot less now, so progress is happening. Overall, Bark Busters helped us in the beginning, but long-term we found that a different, more positive approach has been a better fit for Mimi.

Our dog came back calm, orderly, and OBEDIENT! After a month long stay and many many wonderful updates multiple times per week we are confident he has made at least a 90% improvement on his bad behaviors and is able to calmly behave not only around us but his reactivity to other dogs has made a tremendous improvement. Shannon and Sierra are STELLAR! I'd also like to mention they did a home drop off for us (since I'm still heavily pregnant) and spent over an HOUR with my husband and I going over all of the new things he has learned + even took a walk with us in the neighborhood to address another issue we had with reactivity. We were left with a sheet of all his new & enforced behaviors to keep track of along with super chewer toys and treats. Excellent, excellent, excellent experience with this team and I highly recommend anyone who needs this service to pull the trigger and go for it! You will not regret your decision!
