I found my new groomer. I have never seen my dogs so calm and comfortable at the groomer. We all felt welcome to be there and seeing my pups so happy, clean and cute made my heart smile. Jenni was wonderful with them and I love how she asked questions about the pups, asked what all I wanted done and genuinely seemed happy to see us. Normally when I drop off or pick up my pups you can tell they don't want to be there but this time they didn't even care when I was leaving. I knew they were in good hands. They are caring about animals but also consider the pet parent. I had an emergency. I broke my leg and my boy Kain needed to go somewhere while I am in the hospital. The owners and staff of 2 paws are exceptional. There are there for Kain and I. Now about the place. It is a happy dog ranch!!! My neighbor had worked there. I value her opinion. She said they are the best. She is right! This is not a cold dialing through an automated phone system. With lots of rules or heavy expense. Where an emergency of a pet parent is not considered. 2paws rocks! I know Kain is having fun and cared for while I can't take care of him. Other, they do everything. We take out 2 high energy huskies (Ayla & Jorha) to Two Paws Up and they are very well cared for here. I can't rave highly enough about Two Paws Up. First, I love that it's cage-free boarding, as I would never leave our dogs anywhere caged up all day when we are out of town. Our two Australian Shepherds stay there regularly, for both short and longer stays. There's plenty of space to run about with other dogs and play all day, and they both love swimming in the pool. They always come home calm, bathed, and very well-behaved (there is a trainer on staff). We also use their grooming services, which are simply way better than any I've gone to before. Because of my allergies our Aussies get a buzz-cut a couple of times a year, which is always beautifully done. We have a 4-year-old 100-pound, somewhat anxious and very high- energy male German Shepard mix (rescue) who needs a little extra attention. We have been using Two Paws Up for over-nights since moving to North San Diego County almost 3 years ago. Laurie and Donnie are two of the nicest people I know. They have a fantastic facility and use trained staff. Nothing is left up to chance. Magic just spent 7 days there and came home happy, healthy and clean (free bath w/ extended stay). Our flight left super early and came back very late, but they were flexible on the drop-off and pick-up times. You will not be disappointed with their level of professionalism and customer service. Our 11 year old greyhound had never been in a boarding facility. We were nervous about leaving him anywhere. But friends had recommended this place. No cages and Indy came home a happy camper! We are so pleased and thankful for the special care he received. They even had great advice for a special spray for his "hot spot " on his leg. How great is that! read more

This place is fantastic! My little four-legged kiddo loves it here for daycare. He can run around all day and he comes home happy and exhausted. I love that it's an big open place with tons of different areas. If he wants to dig, there's dirt. If he wants to roll in the grass, there's a grassy area. If he wants to get out of the cold and take a nap, he can come inside and share a cot! My dog is a rescue and this is great socializing for him. The prices are reasonable, especially the overnight prices. They don't close on the day you want to come home or charge you full price for absolutely every day you touch. They even have a van service if Valley Center is a bit far for you. The people are fabulous and know all the dogs personalities. Highly recommended! read more

This is an update to my earlier 1-star review; I have changed my review to 4 stars based on the pro-active responsiveness of the Two Paws Up staff. They mailed me a check to refund the cost of my grooming plus the tip, which was way more than I expected. Now I strongly suspect that, if I had taken my concerns to the office, they would have responded appropriately. So my recommendation is: Go ahead and try Two Paws Up; I was certainly happy with my previous groomings there. Be very specific about what services you want. And if anything isn't to your liking, talk to the office! read more

This is a great place to take you and your dog for training. Especially if you've never trained a dog before. Jessica really focusses on teaching you, so that you can work with your dog. Its funny, its not the dog that needs training, its the owner. The location Is nice and a causal setting. They also run a doggy camp so there are lots of other dogs around. All the staff there truly love what they do. They take a loving approach to training, so they coax the dogs to love training as well, instead of demanding them. I've gone to four out of the six sessions and have a 3yr old Aussie shep. Never before trained. It's a great schedule because you go once a week for an hour for six weeks. This gives you time to practice with your dog during the week and ask any follow up questions the following week. I'm much more comfortable with my dog and other dogs, so much so that I was able to command dogs that I hadn't trained with. It's very cool seeing the transformation. I highly recommend this place if you want to improve your training habits or are just starting out. They tell you the 'whys' to training, which help you apply a good approach to working with your dog and understanding of your dog. read more

My wife Pattie & I currently send our two Goldens to Two Paws Up. They can't wait to go in the van on "Doggies At The Camp" day. They are (normally) very tired when they return home (which reminds us how much fun they had at Camp). We trust the staff implicitly, and have see first-hand how they treat each dog as if they were their own. Our doggies have also received First Class grooming when staying there. The only "warning" I might give a dog owner is that your pooch might have so much fun at Two Paws Up, they might not want to come home! Since the day I met Jeanne at Wolfstock two years ago, I knew I had found someone special. I needed help training my young and strong lab to walk on a leash without dragging me through the street. After completing her basic obedience class at 2PU, I not only had more confidence in walking Cooper, I had a much better understanding from Jeanne about his behavior and what it is dogs need; physically and mentally, to be great dogs. Cooper has been going to camp each week for over a year. Those first few months he came home EXHAUSTED and SO HAPPY. He has learned to pace himself over time and now he comes home TIRED and SO HAPPY. His younger brother joined him this summer, they know when it is camp day and they can't wait to get out the door. The staff always greet them so kindly and each of my pups respond with such affection. I am so grateful for Jeanne and the entire staff at 2PU. The Team at Two Paws Up is amazing! We had been dealing with 2 of our dogs getting into fights for about 2 weeks and did not know what to do and had no clue on what triggered it as we had them both for years. We found Two Paws Up and decided to take our "kids", as I call them, to get trained. From the minute that I walked in with Rolando and Chopper, I felt welcomed and felt that I was speaking with a team of people that were not judging me on how much I had spoiled my dogs. They taught us how to be pack leaders and opened our eyes to lots of things that we could make better in order to have a cohesive pack. We had both Chopper and Rolando in training for 10 and 7 days respectively and what a difference has that made in our house! Our dogs are happy and have not fought again. We have learned how to provide our pack with a good and safe home and we can even walk them without being pulled all over!!!!!!!!! We still take Chopper every few weeks to socialize and spend sometime at Two Paws Up as he continues to learn how to be playful but to also respect the older dogs around him. Life is so good now! Because Two Paws Up changed ownership, I want to do a follow-up to my review from 2014. I was very happy with TPU when it was run by founder and previous owner, Jeanne Miller. So much was accomplished with my 70 lb. Australian Labradoodle. (See past review.) Hoping for the best, I continued to bring Nova three times a week for 5 hours of play and to board him overnight occasionally. I was not disappointed. Two Paws Up continues to get Two Thumbs Up from me and my husband. My primary contact with the new owners is Lori Martinez. What a terrific woman: strong background of experience with dogs of all kinds especially those needing rehabilitation so that they are suitable for adoption into forever homes; attentive to concerns and goals of dog owners; strong focus on thoroughly training staff and keeping communication flowing; very high standards for how each dog should be handled; and, what's very important to me, the philosophy of maintaining and building on training owners have given their dogs all the while fostering calm, socially appropriate play and behaviors. I have absolutely no reservations in highly recommending Two Paws Up for day camp and boarding. Your dog will love you for it! read more

Is drugging/sedating dogs without owners' permission how they manage so many dogs? When I went to look at Two Paws Up for my dog, on the surface it looked very neat and very well supervised. It looked like the dogs were well taken care of. However, I would NEVER leave him there again. EVER!!!!! I no longer trust them. I don't know what goes on when while the dogs are left to be cared for, but I'm suspcious. My dog is very sweet and easy to manage. When we picked him up after a week and half, we noticed that he was very lethagic and had a flat affect. He's ususally very expressive. His eyes were gooie, and didn't seem to care about anything for a few days. He had all the signs of having been drugged/sedated. There was NEVER any mention of it from Two Paws Up. I'm upset that they would do that, especially without asking or notifying owners. I feel like this a betrayal of trust, and its hard on dogs' kidneys. Even though I've been bringing my dogs for years for sitting and play days I never used any of their extra services. I had my Affenspincher groomed by Matt and she looked adorable. I know she can be a demon and won't hold still but she turned out perfect. My fear is her being cut or razor burn but she was perfect. She has a bad itch problem and gave Matt the shampoo she needs and he used it on her which was wonderful. Also we put our other dog/ puppy in their basic obedience class with Cody. WOW!!! What a difference!!! We just went through a puppy class we paid for where we did nothing for an hour except socialize. Well that's a really good thing but our pup needed direction. Cody's class was fun for her and she learned to sit, stay, lay, stand, come and working on the rollover!!! She is a much better baby and of course we bring her to happy camp for play and socialization. I would recommend Happy Camp not just for their obvious stellar care but Matt for grooming and Cody for training or any behavioral problems. read more

I adopted a 10-year old dog about one month before I was scheduled to go out of town for work. The Humane Society had told me when I adopted her that she wasn't particularly social with other dogs so I knew I had to find the right boarding facility that could care for her during the week that I would be gone. The first one I checked with used only a communal setting during the day and Kaya didn't like that at all. Luckily, my vet had also recommended Two Paws Up. When I called them, I was told it would be no problem, but they wanted to meet Kaya before committing. We went out that afternoon and I was immediately convinced that this was the right choice. They are awesome dog people and understood Kaya's quirks. I was so pleased when I picked her up by how happy she was. They took wonderful care of her and didn't press her to be more social - they let her be her. You can bet she'll be going to Two Paws Up anytime I need to be away from home! read more

I am completely done with these people forever! Absolutely absurd these people have the nerve to treat animals the way they do. I've been taking my dog to them for years actually the only place in town I would have gone for grooming but my last experience was awful. I don't know what they have done to my dog but she has had a limp since she has gone to them last. They barely cut her nails at all as they allready need to be done it's only been 2 weeks. I took her to the vet and they documented and told me she was somehow hurt not badly but they didn't fully cut her nails and they actually left the two front on her right paw very long. The vet recommends I take legal action as we probably will due to not only what happen with our dog but what could and may have allready happened to others. Stay away very shady very odd and honestly I only bring her there to get her nails done nothing else because every time I go there I head dogs crying and panting etc just an awful experience and place read more

This is the most amazing loving place for your sweet beloved dog.. This is really the best place to board your pet. The dogs have the freedom to play in the doggie play ground, sleep on raised beds and doggie mats, they get attention all day long. There is even this amazing safe swimming pool just for dogs and my friends lab loves this pool. It is like an amazing resort for your dog.. the dogs even get homemade doggie treats and they really love your dog when you are away. I also love it for the socialization for my dog.. She gets to play with other dogs.. When I was there to visit all the dogs were very well adjusted and seemed very happy.. Very relaxing dog resort and I highly recommend it. We love Two Paws Up. We can take our dog (a golden retriever) and know she is in great hands. She is always excited to get dropped off there and when she comes back home she is exhausted (very hard to do with her!). We've left her there for short stays (1-2 nights) and longer stays (up to a week). We've also used their grooming services. I love that she isn't left in a cage there and is free to roam around and play. We highly recommend their services! read more

We have been bringing our dog Moose here when we go out of town since he was a puppy 7 years ago. A friend in Ranch Penasquitos recommended Two Paws Up at the time. Well worth the drive as the staff takes great care of the animals and really care about their well being. I love the open space design and the lack of kennels. Staff are awesome. Not too many places will take a bull terrier. Jean and her staff have found a place in their hearts for my dogs. Our dogs go to two paws up once every year or every other year. If we cant find anyone else who we trust. I love knowing while I'm on vacation my dogs can play all day with other dogs and staff. My bull terrier can work on his anxiety in the pool. i love knowing my dogs are able to sunbathe/nap/ play in the sand box or get some loving from staff... whenever they want. Sometimes, my dogs have come home with scratches or little cuts but nothing of concern to take them to the vet. They always do come home tired, happy, and ready for a nap or two. I personally, think this is a great place to take your dog for whatever reason!!....If you have the cash to do so...its worth every penny!!! Took Quyn for you first time at Two Paws. 1/2 day to play with other dogs and then get her groomed. When we picked her up she looked great and she was all happy. I saw their van parked in 86 degree heat with a lab mix in the front seat. The woman said the the A/C was on, but the dog was panting a lot. When it is 86 degrees outside, the inside of this van was in the 90's or 100's. That is inhumane. read more

After adopting our newest family member, a little French bulldog puppy named Koki, we began the search for a full service company that could handle our boarding, day camp, training and grooming needs, and we were fortunate enough to find the absolutely fabulous Two Paws Up. The staff is incredible and they treat our little man as a member of the family. Chris has been amazing on the training and Koki has developed great leash manners. I get my dogs groomed with Veronica. I have been there three times. My requests have been gracefully and thoughtfully filled each appointment and I have been through messes with groomers. This last time I had an emergency dental procedure while my dogs were at Two Paws Up. (Thank you Dr. Eades for getting me where I needed to go.) Even though there were problems with my phone, wonderful care was taken of our dogs and everyone was very kind and understanding. The little four-legged family were just as happy as could be.
