This is a cute little place ! This was our first time going there . We got the pumpkin curry and the ginger Tilapia ! I loved my pumpkin curry , I would rate that as 5 ! I placed an order for pickup for when i get off work. Work kept me long and now they wont refund me...when my solution was to grab my order for lunch tomm since Im stuck here. I would give this place a 3.5 but I didn't have that option and didn't want to round up. This place is decent but nothing special. The food was overall too salty (fixed later on) and the Pad Thai was too sweet. The appetizer that we got was probably microwaved since part of it was cold and the other part warm. The service was great and staff were friendly, regardless. The atmosphere was also great. Been here three times and the food has been consistently good. Glass Noodle Salad with shrimp and chicken was light and refreshing. It's a good option when you don't want a heavy dish with rice. The Ocean Avocado Fried Rice was delicious and had a good amount of proteins (shrimp, scallops, calamari, mussels, crab). We've never had avocado with fried rice until this place and it was surprisingly good together. Drunken Noodle was good but we wished the noodles had more of a wok sear for that hint of smokiness.Tom Yum Soup was tasty but a little on the salty side for my preference. Eating the soup with rice helped with the saltiness. They definitely don't skimp on the fish sauce in their dishes which several Asian restaurants tend to shy away from to cater to American taste buds. Place is clean and charming with blue walls to match their name. Presentation of the food was better than most Thai places we've been to and they are certainly one of the top Thai places in Dallas we've tried so far. read more

This little restaurant in a strip mall in Plano is a great find for Thai food. We've been to this place twice and both times it was great! The other friends we know who come here love it enough that they are regulars- if that says anything about this place. We went for Sunday lunch and another random weekday for dinner. On Sunday afternoon we went with a fairly large group and even though it's a small restaurant they were able to accommodate us nicely (though not sure how busy they are at peak hours). The service was friendly and attentive and the food is tasty! Another perk is that it's BYOB. Their menu is extensive and I liked that they had some items that I haven't seen on a Thai menu before (like pumpkin curry - which was delicious.) Overall, a solid Thai restaurant choice. read more

Food took longer than the suggested waiting time to arrive. Delivery driver was unbearably rude and kept ringing my doorbell after I very clearly announced I was approaching the door I ordered thru Yelp's Eat 24 which means the delivery driver was in fact someone from their restaurant, despite claims that it may have been another company. I guess he seemed to be in a hurry. I always tip in cash and after signing for my order he demanded to know where his tip was. And when I told him I would not be tipping he proceeded to roll his eyes and walk away. Unacceptable customer service. In terms of food. It's mid to higher priced in my opinion and the portions were terrible, food arrived cold and the food was poorly packed and I received no utensils or napkins for my food. Food was lacklustre had no flavour, being a Thai restaurant I ordered spicy food. Overall, I feel I've seen enough. If delivery isn't even good who knows how the kitchen will be? Holy amazing Thai food! I have spent the last two years on a quest to find the perfect tasting Thai food that I had been craving, since moving to a new state. Dallas is just a pit stop on our way to visit New Mexico, and man, I am so freaking glad we found this place. We ordered the Thai Green Curry Chicken Medium spicy and Larb Gai Medium Spicy. How did we miss this place for so long? Stopped by for a quick dinner on a Sunday night. The entrees were delicious and authentic. The appetizer we ordered was slightly dry and chewy, would order something different next time. The only real down side here was the service. It was friendly enough, but it was verrrry slow. Favorite Thai restaurant in DFW by far. We shared the basil chicken wrap appetizer, which was excellent. There are 5 on the plate, which sounds like a lot, but they are very small -- the size of breakfast sausage link. But as an appetizer to enjoy the taste, it was perfect. Then we both ordered the peanut chicken with white rice on the side. My wife doesn't like spicy food, so she got hers with 1 out of 5 spice level. I saw another review on here that said 3/5 isn't spicy at all, so I ordered mine 4 out of 5. Perfect! Made my nose run a little bit, but didn't take away from the very dominant peanut flavor. The peanut flavor is outstanding and the chicken had the right tenderness. We will be back -- even though we live all the way in Highland Village! Wish we had a place like this there! read more

tl;dr, the menu is worth exploring, food is beautiful and delicious, and they have android pay set up, which really saved dad n i's skins for the night!! i think this is a great place!! the menu's full of thai dishes with flavors you won't find anywhere else around plano, such as pineapple fried rice w beef and avocado curry, but the oceanic thai kitchen chefs are also masters of the classics, like pad thai n green curry. i take whoever i can to this place, both adventurous and less adventurous people, and everyone seems to really like what they order! at the time of writing, this is about my third time here. as usual, i got the basil chicken wraps and drunken noodles (pork, level 1 spicy) and i enjoyed it just as much as last time. my dad got edamame, a cup of tom kha (beef), and pumpkin curry (beef, medium spicy), all of which he liked! we paid about $25 a person w/o dinner, so this is definitely more of a special-occasion sort of place. but..... what motivated me to write this review is how the service is super competent. like it is just straight-up refreshing to see such good service. near the end of the meal, when dad n i had gotten our entrees packed in lil boxes and we were getting ready to pay, dad realized that he'd left his wallet at home!! we live a solid 15 minutes away from oceanic thai so it would've been an ordeal, getting the wallet from home while one of us held down the fort. but then we remembered that dad has an android pay account set up on his phone! he went and asked the staff about it and they were like "we have that!!!" they had a bit of a struggle explaining it though, so they called over someone from the back to help them out. from there, they completely blasted through the process for getting android pay set up and we were out of there within three minutes. it was ridiculous. dad said that was the first time he has ever been able to competently use android pay. in general the place is very well-run and the staff takes a lot of care to ensure you have a good meal. i recommend it!! especially after tonight, oceanic thai is probably my favorite thai place in dfw. read more
