Please do not give this store your business, because the managers here are extremely rude. I have spent a lot of money at this location over the years and have also donated generously to their charity. Yet, because it was only one minute after closing, the lady I believe was the manager refused to let me check out and said, "We closed 1 minute ago." Today is March 17, 2026, and this happened at 7:01 PM. I went to Job Lot just before closing and had a basket full of merchandise ready to purchase. At 7:01 PM, a lady who I assume was the manager came up to me and told me the store was closed. I politely asked if I could simply check out the items already in my cart, but she told me absolutely not because they had closed 1 minute earlier. If you review the security camera footage and timing, you will see that it was literally 7:01 PM. This Job Lot is only 2 minutes from my house, and I have been a loyal customer for many years. After the way I was treated today, I will no longer shop there. I also plan to share this experience with my friends, family, and Facebook community, because what happened was unprofessional, disrespectful, and very disappointing. read more

This review is for the location on route 52 in Fishkill New York. I'm so disappointed. The staff is great, but the shelves are very bare, even considering that it is the holiday shopping time. Crazy deals are nowhere to be found. That is a huge Downside to this location. Nevertheless, you can find good values on holiday gift boxes for $2.99- $6.99 per box which are reusable year after year. They're sturdy and have great eye appeal. TIP: for those great imported specialty foods that I rave about at the Poughkeepsie location, turn around and head north on route nine for about 12 miles and do your shopping there. I do think the prices are also a bit higher at this location, but that is not verified. read more

I'm pretty sure you can find just about anything here- vegan snacks, tapioca, pool supplies, solar tiki lanterns, buddha garden statues, Hawaiian pin-up girl swim trunks, peat fire starter blocks, kitchen supplies, fairy lights, shampoo, chocolate, hand soap, beach towels, magical Jesus-on-the-cross candles (magical because he appears as the candle burns)... Just a list of some of the things we have bought here, save for the last item (I'm holding out for the Blessed Mother version that is advertised but never available). Always game for a good gimmick. Plenty of the items are brand names (Bedhead, Red Mill flours, Vegan Rob's, Pop Chips) while others are of questionable quality and price. I cannot stress enough that you should not just assume that it's going to be cheaper here. Some employees are helpful, while others are bored teenagers who roll their eyes at dad jokes (I can't blame them). Be careful. You can easily spend too much money here on crap you don't need or poor quality destined-to-be landfill that you'll be replacing with higher quality stuff that will last more than one season. read more

coming from a former employee, the employers are iffy. they have mood swings (like all of us do) and honestly have fake faces sometimes. the place is disgusting, bathrooms are filthy. aside from that, the quality of the items depend on what you get. the food isn't horrible, however some of the toys are very durable and may break easily. mainly, the art supplies are my favorite thing to get, and they last me a long time. if you're in need of school supplies, just watch how much you buy. numbers add up quick, especially here. read more

So a few months ago I went into the store and was treated rudely By the manager lady when I return to tell them the sweater I was charged too much for, I don't remember exactly but it was something to the effect she said the ticket didn't match the sweater, I had to go back and get the swing same sweater and show her the ticketed match, when I called ad in corporate office to tell him how they miss handled me treating me like I lied he told me he was going to send me a gift card for my trouble but never did... I don't like to write bad reviews but one by one anyone that doesn't keep their word will get the review they deserve So not only did they call me a liar but they also lied to me no, I think I erased this review but now I am putting it back. Very rude and inconsiderate team. I was in the store about 2 hours prior making a purchase and saw they have signs posted everywhere about an incentive for purchasing gift cards with rolled change. I tell the cashier it's a great deal and will be back later that day to which he says "ok". Job lot doesn't sell the coin wrappers so I drive to another store to find them, purchase them and go home to sort, count and roll all of my change. Upon completion I go back to the store, wait 15 minutes in line and was rudely told they aren't taking anymore change today. Mind you, nowhere does it mention there is a daily limit on any of the postings and the cashier never mentioned to this mr earlier either. She goes and asks the manager and they just whisper and stare then the manager yells to me across the store that they aren't taking anymore change for today. Gotta love wasting my time along with false advertising. I used to love that shore but will definitely be reducing my purchases there. I agree it's a little depressing in terms of ambience, but you can find some good deals here. I usually just go to the food section and get only a few items, but they have product in automotive, household, beauty, garden, school supplies etc., so to each their own in terms of finding the products one likes. (The food section features items such as pasta, coffee, spices, hot sauce, olives, cereral and olive oil that are, one guesses, in competitive grocery categories; thus you can get a "close-out" brand (that isn't necessarily junk) for a cheaper price -- e.g., Paul Sorvino pasta and sauces and Emeril brand marinades. I do wish the food section were more extensive, however.) This place is analagous to National Wholesale Liquidators, although probably with less assortment. Not worth a special trip, but if in the area (or going to another store in this particular shopping plaza, which I do) it's worth checking out at least once. The store itself is spacious, which would work against it but for the fact that hardly anyone is in there (thus, it's not like anyone is breathing down your neck, which is a good thing, plus the lines usually are short). read more

First off I would not trust any high star ratings. I once heard them telling staff they need people to write good reviews and say good things on social media. Lets start on that note. Impossible to find anything as the store is CONSTANTLY changing the location of their products. Products are spread out in EXTREMELY random places. If you mention it to an employee you'll get the "well thats what kind of store it is, we buy out and don't know whats coming next" answer. Poor reasoning for a disaster consistently this bad. That said the shelves are a mess. There is no order. For example: If you want a certain brand of coffee..well.. GOOD LUCK! If you can even find the brand you like then you definitely won't find the desired flavor ANYWHERE near the others. THAT GOES FOR EVER SINGLE ITEM IN THE STORE! I find myself laughing every single time! Over the years I've spoken with many staff members and overheard more then matters to me personally. I am shocked at how management treats their employees. You wouldn't know it until you witness it. This store is so extremely understaffed where needed and management apparently puts ALL weight and workload on (usually 1) very underpaid employee who they can and will pin everything on (Shipping/Receiving) I got to know the last THREE shipping/receivers. As it turns out they basically run the store.. while getting VERY underpaid.. hourly.. To my knowledge they are having lots of difficulty filling this position. You'd have to be on drugs to work that position. That being said almost every time I enter the store I see managers standing around talking and laughing.. often for the entire time spent shopping. You will be able to tell right away that management is passive aggressive with little cliques while they gossip and pass blame or give you excuses. If you are looking for a specific item don't bother asking the underpaid stockers! They will generally just say "nah we're all out".. even when there are full loads of that item at the end of the isle two isles down. Cashiers and customer service seem to never have a clue where they even are. I can't even blame them for not caring! I write this review because I happened to catch a few (what seemed to be) early staff meetings over the last couple of years and WOW what a depressing mess! Sadly the hourly employees will get in trouble if this ever gets read but hopefully they up and run. Overall I only shop there still because it is in walking distance to my house. If you have lots of time to waste and roam around you may find a few good deals. Having such a wide selection is the only thing that is saving them. By the time you give up looking for what you want you will likely have passed something else interesting that you may want. Lastly, as I begun this review I warn that I would be careful trusting their high star ratings. I once over heard them telling staff to have people boost their ratings. I love this store, the prices are great and if you're looking for gluten free or natural products, they carry some of those too, cheaper than you'd find them elsewhere. Great place to buy household cleaning products, shampoos, etc, but also for other odds and ends like kitchen supplies, small appliances, rugs, bathroom items, school supplies and around the holidays, decorations and lights. Great place to find things that are usually expensive, such as feminine hygiene products (I am a senior who uses sanitary napkins for urinary incontinence). I consistently find great deals here on everything from winter coats to lamps to almonds. There's a great homewares section with rugs, mugs, dishes etc and a large beauty section where you can get some great brands at a heavily discounted price. I usually go to buy my British cookies - Hobnobs and other Digestives. I also regularly purchase their unlabelled canned dog food which, at the moment, is made by Spring Naturals. At $5.99 for a 12 pack its a steal and when you open it well, it almost looks good enough for me to eat! Extensive pet section too. If you run out of household stuff like light bulbs, need a new curtain rod or want to grab some great cereal you can get that here too. 99% of the time I find their prices to be less (and sometimes way less) than going to a department store. Nature's Pantry is in the same strip mall so its always a two-store trip for me that I really enjoy! read more

I live right up the street from this place so I go only if I really need to pick up something like laundry detergent, soap, etc. its a huge store but sadly is a mess, the items are not really put away nicely and things are always all over, if they fixed it up the store would have a better feel when you walk through the doors. They do have a huge selection of Bob's Red Mill products at a much lower price then Adams or Nature's Pantry. read more

It's a great discount store. Their rug selection is incredible! You can get great deals and the employees are very pleasant and helpful. It's a discount store, and it has no frills, but the ongoing selection of goods, be it seasonal or homegoods or non perishable grocery is really great. It's a guilty obsession store for me on my way back from babysitting my grandson on Fridays in Dutchess. I wish there was one closer to me in Orange County NY! I love this store! read more
