I've called about this already and nothing was done about my interaction. I've been refraining from coming into this store on weekends because of a worker here who has been giving me trouble. i came in three weeks ago to be stared at by the cashier. Her name is Sarah. She stared at me, threw my change down at me and when i asked her to politely hand me my change she called me a 'fucking n-word' under her breath. I am black, so when i turned to ask her what she said to correct her behavior she said that she "couldn't be fired because of her disability". I don't think any establishment should hire or keep anyone who is racist purely for their disability. I was hurt, i told everyone i knew to not come back to this dollar tree. Until this issue is resolved i am not returning either. my niece found her tiktok, it's @Sarah.rawrrr . the evidence speaks for itself.

It's Five Below - a glorified 'dollar store'…read more The prices are decent of course, so it comes down to stock (basic Five Below stock - if you've been to one, you've basically been to them all with some minor differences) and the how it's maintained and whether or not the shelves are stocked or not. This location was maintained well with full shelves. If you plan to shop here, you'll likely find plenty of options for the lower price dependent on what you're looking for. I didn't have any interaction with employees, which was fine by me since they seemed to care less about customers being in the store at all. This isn't the first Five Below location with unfriendly employees, which is one of the main reasons why I rarely frequent this business in the first place. Located in the busy Cortlandt Town Center with plenty of parking. This location shares the space with a lot of other businesses in the vicinity and is next to a busy Walmart. The prices are obviously the gimmick here and the store is what it is. I only give the generous 3 stars because the shelves were full and the store overall looked presentable. If you frequent Five Below, then you already know what to expect in all aspects.

Goodwill in Somers is a place that I frequent on a weekly basis. Their prices are incredible and…read moreyou can find a wonderful selection of clothes and shoes. They do not have jewelry though which is a point off for me. As far as their bags go, they are usually only $10 at the very most. Like most Goodwills, they do have a sale every day where certain color tags are half off and on Sundays, that color is only one dollar! I can't even tell you the phenomenal deals that I have gotten on Sundays, including designer namebrand shoes. However, whoever is pricing the pocketbooks and wallets is delusional. I say this after years of experience. There is no way that a wallet with huge tears in it is worth $10, the same price that a nice leather handbag costs. They also price name brands like LeSportSac, Jessica Simpson and Vera Bradley under $5, yet ripped bags or bags with random hotel names on them for $10. A positive was that their bags never cost more than $10. All of the other Goodwills I've gone to have their bag prices go up to $25. However, upon my last trip, I did see some bags that were priced $15 and $25. Again, these were no name bags that were not in great condition. I really think they need somebody else to be pricing these specific items. Their clothes are extremely well priced and their shoes again only go up to $10 at the most. They have brands like Michael Kors and DKNY in great shape for $10 or under which is incredible! They have beautiful jackets and they are all under $20. The housewares and the trinkets are also usually priced well, but again, you will find a random chintzy item costing six dollars when it should only be $.99. For the most part, the prices are good, but whoever is doing the pricing just doesn't seem to be consistent and understand what they're doing.

Unfortunately for me, the new place is 25 miles further north at the Jefferson Valley Mall. This is as far as you can go in Westchester county because Putnam county is just across the street. Like most malls across the country, JVM is not doing great, with not a lot of tenants or customers and it just seems to be barely hanging on. At least their anchor store, Macy's hasn't bailed yet. I'm hardly ever up this way, but when I am, I'll stop in at WTH to see any new stuff (and to see the old stuff). The new store has almost as big a footprint as the Galleria store, but way bigger than the previous White Plains mall one, which got the wrecking ball also (I'm not sure if that's a good omen). Everything was moved here, every plane, train & automobile (literally) and even Barbie (but no Oppenheimer). John told me he has big plans for the new store and to check back for new inventory soon. Each aisle has a hobby specialty. The biggest proportion is in the back where all the model trains reside. Glass cabinets are filled with vintage Lionel trains and other well known brands. The Hot Wheels collection made it over, as well as the Barbie and Hess truck collections. But my main hobby focus are model airplanes and ships and their collection of old kits is pretty impressive. They get new old kits all the time by buying up old collections and reselling. This trip, I got (3) 70's-80's nostalgic plastic airplane kits that I've had or wanted since I was a kid. I could wander the aisles here all day and they would have to kick me out. Maybe I'll go back after I grab some lunch at the food court...
