upgraded the store nicely. My main issue is the one women at check out with the shoulder length, brown hair. EVERY SINGLE TIME I'm using self check out, she's watching quite literally over my shoulder, touching my items or machine, asking me if I charged for bags when I've clearly just selected how many bags I'm using... it's getting annoying. just today (again) she's only 2 feet behind be watching me check out and after I'm already paid, she steps up to me asking if I paid 20 cents for my 2 brown bags... like get real! this is insane. I understand doing your job but this is too much. Its every single time I'm using self check out. I live in the area, why on earth would I not pay for the bags, or not scan an item... the machine would know. not to mention she's not even nice about it. do better! read more

It's stop and shop, how is it not good. Bathrooms there are clean. The service is good. The food they sell is great.

I shop at this location for convenience and the close proximity to my house. I love using the self scanning device. Prices are much better here than they are in the nearby Acme. The customer service desk is great, helpful. This is what is good. That being said, the Deli counter is horrendous. The grab and go cold cuts are all sliced disgustingly thick. If you wait on the (always) long line, unless you ask the deli workers to see how they are slicing them, you will get thick slabs of meat and cheese, even when you tell them to slice it thin. This has been an ongoing problem for years. It's very frustrating. I try to get my cold cuts elsewhere because it never changes. This store is always poorly stocked. Shelves are continually empty. In addition that stupid robot always gets in the way of my shopping. It is obvious the woman at the self check out counter hates her job (I know it's not easy, but still) and always acts like she's doing you a favor by helping you. If things don't change, I'm not coming back. read more

I like this stop & shop. Good selection of produce including pickle cucumbers. I like the seafood department and the deli. Staff is always helpful. The one time I had a bad interaction with staff I complained at the service desk and the complaint was taken seriously. I love the scan it feature. One of the main reasons I shop here. This part is probably more of a me problem but this store gives me such anxiety when I walk in it and I always leave in a bad mood. The set up is cramped and you can potentially run into someone at any given moment, it's chaotic to walk through the store. The Starbucks is situated next to the aisles and the line goes into the aisle sometimes. Plus an employee was rude to me at this store. Good produce, nice selection of food and clean. read more

I have lived in Mahopac since 1967. I've been going to this Stop & Shop since it opened. I really don't have a lot of complaints about the place but my God what has happened to the men's room. Maybe it's because I've got a little older and I go to the men's room more, but this Men's Room in this Stop and Shop is disgusting. Sometimes I go in there when I first get there and lose my appetite. I don't buy as much food so maybe there's an upside but please can you just get someone in there with a mop and a broom and maybe some cleanser thanks. read more

I've never had a bad experience at this store until today. I walk over to the deli area for cold cuts(shouldn't be that hard of a thing to get some ham and cheese I thought) so I take a ticket. there's 3 people in front of me . I wait about 10 minutes. They finish the first two, the woman in the glasses starts complaining loudly about how they're shutting it down soon and starts turning off the back lights where the coldcuts are kept. there's one man in front of me so they start taking care of him. Then an older lady walks up and takes a ticket(after I have been standing there waiting). The employee starts to call her and tells her she's going to be taking her next after she clearly has seen I've been waiting there with my toddler in line. Ticket in hand. She doesn't even call the next number so the man the other employee (that seemed like she wasn't rude to customers unlike her counterpart) was helping told her hey she has the next number she's been waiting there. She turns to him and says no let me handle this sir continues to ignore me for god knows why. That man felt so bad that she did that he apologized to me and said I tried, which he shouldn't have had to apologize to me at all. Probably thought I was going to order a bunch of things so she couldn't take her break I'm assuming. Anyway point I'm getting to is this woman is vocally rude to customers doesn't seem like she wants to be there and needs to get trained in customer service or how the ticket system works since she missed that part of training in the deli department. Maybe moved to a department she'll actually enjoy cause it doesn't seem like she's a fan at the one she's in. Told store management and they knew who I was talking about assuming this lady has been rude to others blows my mind why you'd keep someone like that. I love stop and shop grocery stores. I think they have great prices and they try to be a little more upscale with their deli and gourmet sections. This one is nicer then most with a Starbucks stand and fancy handheld scanners. The scanners are like little self checkout machines that you carry with you as you shop. You scan as you go and bag. It's also great for checking prices and specials. When you're done, just ring out and leave, all your bags are already packed! read more

I've always been a fan of Stop&Shop due to their low prices, high quality food, consistent selection and predictable layout across different stores. This S&S is my go-to grocery store in the area (and there's an overwhelming number of different options within a 5 mile radius). I really like the Scan-It personal scanners which allow you to take a personal scanner (linked to your S&S Card) which saves you time at the checkout, gives you customized coupons and shows you the real prices of the items. I like the S&S has a relationship with Shell Gasoline (across the street) which gives you $0.10 off per gallon for every $100 you spend at S&S. Watch out shopping here on a Saturday or Sunday (as in any supermarket) because the lines may be a bit long. PS There is a Starbucks inside (use the entrance on the left) but they do not honor any coupons or Starbucks Rewards so I tend not to get Starbucks here. read more

Nothing exceptional to recommend here. Vary basic supermarket. Pricing is just OK. My biggest gripe is the staffing. The "butcher" station never is manned and when it is, employees are obviously annoyed that you are bothering them. Deli is a nightmare - prepare to wait at least t0 minutes to be served and then it will be gruff and indifferent. I know your job sucks - smile anyway. First and foremost I love the roasted chickens, always fresh and juicy! This market is clean well stocked, great customer service, fantastic return policy. The bread section is NOT near the dairy which is a major plus, most other stores do that so when you get eggs, milk and butter you grab bread. The truth is that cold and refrigeration is not good for bread and other baked goods. BRAVO S&S! I don't drink Starbucks (5bucks coffee is not my thing) but if you do, there is one in the store. A good well stocked Super Stop & Shop. Best feature is an in-store Starbucks. Shockingly this store has only 2 handicap parking spaces. Well run and clean store. Definitely the place to shop in the area especially since Somers has no other grocery store. Since they converted the old Gristedes to a CVS central Somers is shockingly without a grocery store. This and the Acme where the A&P used to be are 6 miles from downtown Somers. read more

This review is basically about the bottle room. This is way out of control.. You got these bottle collectors coming in with vans full of bottles and cans, taking up the time of true customers trying to turn in a mere $1.20 worth of bottles. This is totally unfair. These people are only allowed by law, to cash in no more the $12.00 a day! They are inconsiderate and disrespectful! I had words with one recently and what do I get...."no speak a da English!!! But they no $$$$. They get their tickets go to one cashier than another and to the solution center to cash in. There needs to be a system in place to control this. I totally went off on this guy..They I got they store manager on duty that day.. All he did was tell him to let the customers use the machine so we don't have to wait! But u know what, He No speak a Da English...So here we are at square one all over again. Stamp their hand when they cash in the $12.00, do something!! Care about your customers!!! This review is for the bakery department. After getting a stale cake from the bakery in town, I ran here on my lunch for something quick the following day to make up for it. I was really impressed with the selection of cakes. I picked chocolate with a pudding filling that was so delicious! The lady at the counter was really sweet and super helpful, she stopped what she was doing to write a message on the cake free of charge. Everyone at work loved the cake and it was fresh with leftovers (We have about 15 people in the office). Very reasonable price, much cheaper than what I paid at the bakery and so much better! Will go here next time I'm looking for a cake! read more

We used Celina as our wedding florist, and I couldn't be more pleased. She did an amazing job with all the bouquets, an altarpiece, and a beautiful floral pumpkin decoration. Honestly for a fraction of the cost, you can get just as great service and quality flowers for your wedding at your local grocery store. hi. used the floral department for 4 centerpieces and a dozen light purple roses for an upcoming local shower wanted hydrangeas also knowing they are not really purple but blue color when i picked up the centerpieces they were terrible. the hydrangea which had been specially ordered were blue and green. no match at all for the purple carnations and other flowers. i wondered why the florist woudn't have called to tell me that they didn't look good. having no other choices and time, we took out the hyrdrangea and added babies breath. the other purple flowers were ok, but did not look fresh to me. they looked wilted already. the manager was called and they took $10 off my order since the 4 hydrangeas were $5 each but i had to pay for two sprigs of baby's breath. . the roses also had a wilted look to them and had already opened. since the shower was early sunday morning, we could not re do that order. i will never order from them again. i might purchase ready cut flowers but it was a HUGE disappointment. and i do not feel that i was satisfied. the flowers looked ok at the shower but i could have made up the cut flower arrangements myself and saved a lot of money. oh well. just saying. mab read more
