Love this fancy little DeCicco in Somers. Everything is so perfectly organized, especially the produce section! There's nothing you can't find here but definitely make sure to hit up the olive bar, it's drool worthy! Any kind of cheese selection you can think of you will find. They have the highest quality of everything and are famous for their awesome beer selection and incredible variety. FRIENDS! Shopping (several times in one week), here was one of the best food shopping experiences that we've ever had. Period. This place feels so crisp and clean inside that it almost feels like a culinary museum. Ha! But it's better than that, 'cause you can buy the things, too, for less than $10,000 (unlike a museum!). LOL Actually, we found it both aesthetically and logistically pleasing as well as pretty affordable, given the value of their products. My spouse and I live in NYC, and were just in the area for about ten days...and it made us (nearly) want to move to the Somers/Purdy's area. I say almost because we're "big city" types, but man, we're still thinking about it. It's partly tempting since the customer service there was SO good. Everyone - like, everyone - was friendly, welcoming and down to earth. It seemed/seems like the staff members really care about the quality of their customers' experience, which is golden. Though we had particularly memorable (read: stellar) experiences with the following staff members: Dave, Nick (or Nicolas), Josie (in the Bakery), Julie, Jacob, Kelsie, Bryan (the Manager), Enza (who lovingly made our yummy sandwiches), and Michael C. De Cicco market always comes to mind- but I never made the time to come in and shop in any of them since I have my reliable markets I turn to. But considering hubs and I had been in Somers catching up on an errand, a simple lunch is what we were after and came here. We additionally got some refrigerated items like berries and yogurt to stock our mini fridge since our kitchen is getting renovated. Thinking about other De Cicco markets I've been to, the 2nd floor's modern industrial dining area here makes the overall place look massive. Outside is welcoming with an Autumn+Pumpkin seasonal touch, produce is directly in front of you as you enter and several cashiers on right. Aisles are spotless and stocked. This isn't discount-style shopping. ANY De Cicco you go to, be ready to pay a bit more than your Stop & Shop or Shop Rite type places. In terms of variety and quality, you're getting your money's worth. Major highlights for us were the light lunch we enjoyed upstairs and nabbing 2 'Pure Elizabeth' granola bags in Blueberry and another in Pumpkin- which we love. This is out of the way for us- but I guess if we're in the area, this is a nice go-to. read more

The manager kicked us out for having a service animal. They were apologetic but still had created an unnecessary scene towards young teenage girls. I am disappointed and dissatisfied with the service. I found it incredibly inappropriate and will not be returning to this location. It's unfortunate because I was a regular customer and have brought my service animal on several occasion. (My SD had on her tags and everything.) read more

I've finally gone upstairs for lunch - beer and cider on tap and a bite or two of the advertised BBQ. It wasn't quite what I expected. The industrial-chic room is huge, stretching the entire length of the store, a bar in the middle and a few sofas in the back. The rest is filled with hard, surprisingly heavy, grossly uncomfortable chairs set around equally heavy tables. The furniture is obviously not made to be rearranged by customers. It was lunchtime, but only a few people were in the room. No music at all. The sole waitress had to hunt down the bartender so he could pull a beer for me and a cider for Alicia. The beer selection is good, most drafts at surprisingly low prices compared to per-bottle prices in the store below. Only one cider, but it was equally well-priced and exceptionally good. But I really came to try their BBQ. That was not one of my better ideas. Despite the huge deli just below us, the menu was surprisingly sparse, mostly meats and a few sides. One salad, but no veggies. No fish. There are so many other possible choices to better fill a "smokehouse grill" menu.... But I came for BBQ.... The smoked brisket had already sold out, surprising in the mostly empty room. I should have stopped there. But, I was told, I could have a brisket sandwich. Foolishly I agreed. What I got was mostly brisket-flavored fat and gristle on two slices of toasted white bread. Calling it "unappetizing" would be kind. Insult to injury, the "sandwich" cost $19, far more than any other BBQ place in the area. And those places serve actual edible brisket on their sandwiches. One star for this huge (though sorely underutilized) upstairs space. Another star for the good bar with great prices. There are no negative stars so I'll have to leave it at 2 read more

This review is really just for the beer selection and the bar upstairs -yes, there is a bar upstairs. It's a great way for you to sample some of the beers they sell downstairs and they have great happy hour prices. The bartenders are both super knowledgeable and friendly, and they are the ones behind the "Staff Picks" when you're shopping downstairs. The menu is constantly changing so if you go often you'll always have new things to try. Similarly, the huge beer (and cider) selection downstairs rotates so often that if you like something one week and go back the next to buy it again, it might not be there anymore! Great place for the craft beer enthusiast and a fantastic way to try to local (ish) places without driving an hour to the brewery. read more

Could this be the best grocery store... in the world? I would gladly argue in favor of YES! DeCicco's in Somers is a life changing shopping experience, and once you come here, every other supermarket will pale in comparison! We visited today on a whim, and even though I am a frequent shopper at the Yorktown location, this one puts all the rest to shame. It's a two story affair, brimming with fresh produce, unique cheeses, and specialty grocery items on floor one, and if you can tear yourself away from the artisanal selections, check out the second floor, which boasts a full bar and grill setup, plus amazing views of the plains of the Hudson Valley. Wow! Find me another grocery store with a full service restaurant inside. I'll wait! The quality of the products sold here are excellent. I love the pre-chopped fruits and veggies for easy snacking, and even indulged in a container of ripe green melon on the gorgeous upstairs balcony overlooking the pastoral surroundings of suburban Somers, NY. It was a lovely July afternoon, and I was just delighted with the whole experience. And an experience it was! While we didn't get a chance to eat lunch at the restaurant upstairs, we look forward to coming back in the very near future to sample some of the treats off the "bar food with a flair" menu - that chicken burger looked awesome! They also had an ample selection of beers and other spirits, including a yummy sounding raspberry sour ale. Remember, this is all in a GROCERY STORE. Mind.. blown! Anyway, this is one of the few businesses on Yelp I've reviewed in recent memory that truly deserves the "Woohoo, as good as it gets" label. This review is for the upstairs bar only. A friend took me here to have a couple of beers from their outstanding tap selection. We did not shop here although it looked pretty amazing from upstairs. Lots of taps with beers you seldom see and they are happy to provide small samples so you don't buy a glass of something you won't like. If I had to offer any criticism, it's that the bartender was sitting at the bar, apparently doing paperwork. I much prefer that traditional role of engaging with your customers, chatting about this or that and trying to learn their likes and dislikes to recommend the next drink. DeCico is a great supermarket to shop and enjoy the atmosphere. All meat, seafood and deli are very fresh! Aisles are very organized and neat! The hot food section has a good selection. DeCico carries speciality items too. This specific DeCico has an aisle of all kinds of wine coolers and beer (basic and specialty)! Love it! Parking situation is great! Lots of it! The only drawback is that items are overpriced. Of course, unless it's a sale item, the other food chains are cheaper! Your paying extra for atmosphere, cleanliness and customer service. Hot tip: Their mango salsa is delicious. The most amazing salsa I have tasted. When you go to check out the store go and grab the mango salsa. You won't regret it! Yummmmmm!!! read more

Awesome supermarket, a bit over priced, but kid friendly. From what I was told, this supermarket is actually quite new to the area. The aisles were laid out nicely and easy to find everything. After walking through the aisles and scanning the prices, I did notice that things were marked up quite a bit. This could just be because this supermarket might be the only one in the area or maybe it caters to a different crowd. They have a very nice beer selection though. Selections upon selections upon selections. Might actually be the nicest beer selections and displays I've seen in a supermarket. The place is kid friendly, they have small carts that kids can use to roam around the aisles. If this place was in my area I think I would shop here once in a while just for the kids. The supermarket also has an upstairs that you can dine in on gourmet meals made to order and a bar as well. Very nice market. Would come back just for the experience. read more

Once the beer license is worked out, this may well be the best overall supermarket in the Northern suburbs. All of the ingredients are there. DeCicco's produce selection may not be as large as Fairway or Whole Foods, but the quality is uniformly excellent. Help is there if you need it. My only complaint on this early visit is that the Baby Gem Lettuce was unavailable. Celery did seem unusually steep at $4.99 a bunch. DeCicco does a better job with fish then any market other than Citarella. For opening they had a tableau vivant of swordfish and grouper. We went with shrimp (peeled and de-veined) and cod, both were good. We did not try any butcher counter meat items on this initial visit, but the meat selection appeared to be pretty much the same as at the Armonk store - Pineland beef in the case, many prepared items, and the usual great sausage meatballs, etc. They were down to one Cornish hen, so we bought a chicken instead. DeCicco's selection of gourmet grocery items is excellent - while you'll find more choice at Eataly, there are always things here I haven't seen elsewhere. I do wish they had a dedicated cheesemonger -- like all other DeCicco's cheese here is pre-cut and wrapped. Prepared foods and deli looked to be identical to Armonk. At check-out they had two baggers on our lane, keeping things moving. About the only thing they seem to have overlooked was a cart corral in the parking lot, if one was there they did a good job hiding it. Congratulations on a great new store! read more

Over rated... it's ok... shopped today all the garlic in the produce department was bad .. dried out with brown dark spots...lemons soft as were asparagus.. soft and tips yellowing ...stems cut back to disguise dried out areas.. However, it is the best supermarket in Westchester and still building...other states have better. read more

Really cool spot because they have a bar and grille on the second floor of the supermarket. food comes from downstairs as they offer a limited menu of bar bites, sandwiches and burgers. The beer menu is extensive and has some good ones on there. We got the meatball sliders and a bavarian pretzel to go with our 12.5 ABV Belgium ale (silent night it was called) and everything was tasty and fresh. Inconsistent and beware of expiration dates. I don't buy their meats, prepared foods, cake, cookies, fish, soup, deli, etc. I come here for milk, Pepperidge Farm cookies, candies or bottled drinks. Our neighborhood had been without a supermarket for some long that any market would have been acceptable. DeCicco's, however, hit the ball out of the park. The building is beautiful, selection wide and service excellent. The store offers prepared food, fresh butcher and fish market, outstanding produce, bakery, deli, coffee, smoothies and salad bar. You can buy your food and eat in the gorgeous upstairs dining hall. When their liquor license comes through they will have a wide variety of draft craft beer and wine on tap and a grill on the upper level. A small outside dining area looks over the rolling hills of Somers and a wetland. read more

Be very careful purchasing here - especially in the produce section. Many expired items on the shelf - some for over a week. When I brought up to the attention of the little, older manager at customer service, and offered to purchase a drink at a discount since it was expired 6 days, he dismissively waved his hand and said that he gets a credit from the merchant . Didn't have any response to the fact that were approximately 20 to 30 of these expired drinks on the shelves. He was obviously irritated that he was even being spoken to . A beautiful store with many very fine items. The staff is helpful and polite. Where it falls short, however, is in its high prices and rather small selection of everyday household items. I go to Acme, or even CVS, for things other than food. They often fail to have very simple items. Today, I went to buy hamburger rolls: nothing but potato rolls because of some sort of dispute with their supplier...a dispute over hamburger rolls? Really? 10 zillion brands of expensive spaghetti sauces, cheeses, etc are all very well, but let's not forget the basics! read more

Hit or miss grocery store. I come because it is closer than other options but a few things I wish would be improved upon. Pros: decent produce section, wonderful seafood section, great cheese section, great sushi, decent salad bar/ hot food bar, lovely employees. Cons: outrageous meat prices! And not even for the grass fed/pasture raised stuff! I am perfectly happy to pay whatever for completely healthy farm pasture raised meats. But when you are charging astronomical prices for what is basically factory farmed meat no excuse. And a fair warning to everybody to check the expiration dates of the meat. I have gone on occasion one too many times, bought some thing that I expected to perhaps make a day or two from the time of purchase and I find that the day that I bought it it was already past its sell by date. Now I understand as a consumer it is up to me to check the sell by date prior to purchasing, but sometimes when you're in a hurry and I've got my kids with me I'm just trying to get in and out as fast as possible. what I certainly don't expect to do is purchase a 50 dollar piece of meat that is already past its expiration date. In general I come here because it is the closest place to me but I feel like I'm getting less than Whole Foods quality for double the price. read more

Just came from the Somers location. The employees I encountered all seemed to be in a bad mood. First I asked an employee if they might have bean sprouts somewhere else in the store, like maybe in produce, because they were out of the canned, he told me I could go look myself because he only cared about his own isle. Then At checkout the celery tang up $1 more than the tag in the produce section said. The cashier walked to the produce section, came back with the tag on her finger and gave it to the woman at the service counter, whom I later found out was a manager. The cashier tried to tell me it was marked wrong and the price was $1 more. I asked the manager what the ticket red that the cashier just handed her and she tried to tell me she didn't see a ticket. I said I just her hand you the ticket. Then they started talking to each other in Spanish and I told them to speak in English so I could understand them. After more back and forth the cashier reluctantly gave it to me at the price on the tag. I am so furious with how I was treated there. I shop there nearly every day. I don't know what has happened to that store but they need new Managment. read more
