Here's the bottom-line upfront: It has just about everything you want or need, but you're gonna pay way more than you should for all of it. Route 100 Market is convenient, easy to access, and has a broad offering for a "gas station": a full in-store deli, beer cooler, pre-made food, and a wide variety of snacks. It's very similar to the 'Flory's' chain of stations. And I wonder why more stations don't copy this format. My biggest complaint, and why it only gets/deserves three stars, is that the prices are just crazy talk. Everything is overpriced. Ok, so you're paying for its convenience, and if you need gas and/or food at 2am when nothing else is open you're probably less likely to grumble about the price. But I don't know... it feels like the prices are just on the other side of "acceptably high for the convenience tradeoff". My other complaint is that it seems like all of the pre-made sandwiches have lettuce and tomato on them. I can work with the lettuce, but tomatoes? No. "You're complaining about tomatoes? Isn't *that* crazy talk?!". I don't think so. Hear me out. Because the prices are just too high, I only visit Route 100 Market when I need to grab a quick bite. Arrived earlier than anticipated - they were all packed up in appropriate wrappings nicely and ready to go. Under 30 second transactions in theses COVID times are much appreciated! In and out in seconds. Considering how many people were there milling about , it's apparent that this place is a well oiled machine. The veggie sandwich was flavorful and bursting. Chicken souvlaki was great with the tzatziki sauce. Chicken salad good, and chicken Caesar wrap ,delish. The HUMONGOUS chocolate chip cookies are more like mini cakes. Got them still warm. Their sandwiches are actually pretty good, but one complaint I have is that when you order online, they don't verify that the person they give your order to is actually you. I placed an order today, which came to a total of $42. I went to pick it up, and since they usually aren't ready when to confirmation email says it will be, I got there 5 minutes after. I looked on the rack for my order and it wasn't there. Waited a few more minutes, and then asked about my order. I was told that it was already picked up-I confirmed that we were both talking about the same order. The woman behind the counter went to get her manager, who told me that someone asked for my order by name (which isn't possible unless someone has a way of getting into their online order system), and they gave it to him. I don't believe this is what happened-the manager told me a man named "John" came in and asked for my order. Nobody named John in my family, and I am the only one who left the house to pick up the order. The manager appeared to expect me to leave without the order, which I wasn't going to do, and acted like I was trying to scam them out of another $42 in food. I think they ought to ask to see the confirmation email before handing an order over, but I guess they will do what they want, and I'll go up the road to Froggie's next time. I would love to hear from the owner, since we frequently buy sandwiches there, and would love to know what they think of this. This place is excellent. It's down the street from my house and I come here every day. All the people who work here are friendly and know me well. As soon as I walk in they get my order going. The store has a huge deli and even fresh produce. There are fresh baked goods made regularly. The bread pudding is amazing. Guys really??? Pre Covid I would religiously gas my car here once or twice a week. I only use premium gas at an average cost of $50+ a fill. My routine was to fill then grab a 12oz water for free. AS Advertised. On occasions I would order a breakfast or lunch sandwich but it became very frustrating when 3 out of 5 sandwiches were made incorrectly. For example honey mustard instead of mustard, no cheese on a bacon egg and cheese. Eventually I stopped ordering the sandwiches. After today, I'm stopping the gas too. After my $52 fill up, I grabbed a water only to be scolded/ reprimanded and told free "hot coffee" only. Unfortunately I don't drink coffee and the attitude is unnecessary. The worst part is the Hispanic workers are only rude to the Hispanic customers. Thats shameful. This place has great food so this review is for the bad customer service. I had a very negative experience today with the cashier. This is the second time in a month a clerk acted either annoyed or unwilling to listen to a customer (first time was another customer in front of me who walked out). It surprised me because this place used to be so wonderful (back before they renovated). I arrived this morning with the manager giving some guy a hard time out front. The customer screamed "I paid" so I have no idea what that was about. This was my conversation: Me: Hi, Newport menthol 100s please Clerk gave me menthol gold Me: Oh just the newport 100s Clerk :showing me where it says menthol gold and says these are them. Me: No, I just want the newport 100s (in the green box) not the menthol golds Clerk: these are menthol 100s. This is what you said you wanted Me: Do you have 100s that are not menthol golds? Female clerk then points past the male clerk (I'd give his name but he was not wearing name badge) and he grabbed under the counter the ones I want. Me: Great, these are the ones I want Clerk: You said menthol, I think you're confusing yourself Me: No I'm not "confusing myself". these are the ones I want and they are menthol. Menthols are in green boxes. Since I had already paid, I made sure they were the same price in case I owed more. I asked "are these the same price?". I went here at around 10pm when the kitchen wasn't making anymore fresh food, so I opted for some buffalo bites (which I was fully prepared to get food poisoning from). They have a wide variety of beverages and snacks, a surprisingly good hot grill where a choice of 6 hot specials is backed up by a custom order flat top where very good burgers and other hot sandwiches on Arthur Avenue breadstuffs are a very pleasant surprise. An excellent selection of Boars Head cold cuts at supermarket prices is available in sandwich form with nice fresh lettuce, tomatoes and other quality veggies. Well constructed sandwiches and wraps and meats and cheese by the pound. Very friendly and efficient staff rounds out a top notch deli. It can be a tad hectic at breakfast and lunch but even then service is quicker than most. Add an excellent and economical selection of breakfast sandwiches or full spreads and you have a winner. Yes... I didn't believe them either when they told me to go to the mobile gas station for food but it was true, this is a great deli! They have this awesome website where you can order food and then tell them when you want it and you can even pay for it in advance and then go pick it up! The prices are low which is great. They cook everything perfectly. Sometimes they do silly things like put your side of bacon that you ordered for your friend on your egg and cheese sandwich but that's ok because that only happens rarely and the food is good. What is also special about this place is the fact it's practically a grocery store, they literally have all the things you would buy at the super market somehow. And a huge beer selection. I just filled up my tank at this Mobil today between 12:50-1:05pm as I always do every week or more! Today, I had an encounter with a bald guy whose name might be Mr. Eli. I filled up my tank and the pump did not have paper to print my receipt. Note, this is not the first time this happened. So many times I had to remove my child and go inside and ask for a receipt. So, as parent of a toddler and having to remove your child, walk, wait on line and if you ask why don't they put papers on those pumps so parents don't have to remove their children from the car seat? Well, Mr. Eli was the most unprofessional employee I have encountered. Besides having a nasty attitude in front of a crowd and talked back at me in front of everybody and my child too. I can't understand why Mobil would hire the nastiest person to represent their company. Remember, I am the client and having to remove a child from the car seat because the gas station is unable to add paper to the pumps, employee should just act courteous and empathize with disappointed customers who feel it's like a burden to put gas at this gas station. I wasn't yelling nor being nasty but this Mr. Eli should apologize for his behavior! It was embarrassing to see an employee be so disgusting nasty to a lady in front of a bunch of man on line. I am glad there is a SHELL station in Purdys which I am more than happy to go back and start filling up my tank one or twice a week $40+ each time! Also, I am glad I can tell my friends and neighbors about my experience today at that Mobil so they don't make a mistake about ever questioning why don't they put papers on the pumps to print so parents don't always have to remove and drag young ones inside for a receipt. Just moved in nearby. They have gas and the people behind the counter are attentive, quick, and pleasant. I've purchased pre-made sandwiches there on two separate occasions about a week apart. They do not mark the sandwiches with made on, or sell by dates and both were rotten. Rancid egg salad and slimy ill tasting (I had to spit it out) chicken cold cut with brown lettuce and a waterlogged roll. The coffee is passable though only if you really consider that it's gas station coffee. This is the very best deli in town and is more like a mini grocery store that carries many extras not found in most deil's. I trust them to always have the very freshest food and I never buy cold cuts anywhere else. Full staff that is friendly and always re-stocking. Service is great and although the place is super busy, check out is pretty quick. Sometime hard to park since they are so busy but it pays to be patient - it is worth the wait both inside and outside. A super life saver during the March 2018 storms and power outages.
