Trader Joe's gets my money every time!. This one is a little bit in the small side. Very crowded on a Friday afternoon. Lots of empty shelves and couldn't find some staple items. Aside from that very friendly staff available throughout the store and willing to help. Free parking and tho there were long lines, the staff work pretty efficiently and line moves pretty fast. read more

I've only been here a couple of times, but it was definitely always a Saturday and always busy (as they all are)! But lines move quickly and staff have always been very kind to me. It is on the smaller side and there are things that can get sold out, but they have had my Aunt's favorite chicken soup in stock each time we've gone to surprise her with some. Buyer beware. Be careful if you purchase the Trader Joe's Spa face wash. I woke up with my eye swollen shut, various patches of itchy rash and a visit to Urgent Care for a shot. It is very uncomfortable. So, I you decide to buy this product, please do a patch test first. read more

It may not be a stop on the Silk Road, but it's a great place to pick up unique items that are organic and fresh. This is also a smaller location than most. I'd cal it more of a "Trader Josette." It gets very crowded at peak times. I'd suggest parking outside their small lot, in the Lowes section of the lot, which is still close, if you can't find a space easily in the smaller lot. I hope they stay busy as it's great to have a Trader Joe's in the area. read more

Went to Trader Joe's at 8:30pm on a Thursday night. Sure they were sold out of some items but most things were in stock and the store was mostly empty. The staffers were all super friendly and bubbly in that special TJ kinda way. Prices were in line with expectations. A few items such as the Chicken Curry had gone up fifty cents ($7.49) but staples like lemonade ($2.99) were the same and a few things like a four pack of Virgil's Root Beer was less ($4.99) than elsewhere. Being a longtime TJer, the layout was a little different than I'm used to, but we pretty much found everything we were looking for. read more

I'm so excited to have a Trader Joe's nearby finally! I've been to a couple of other locations, but they're an hour away, so I was beside myself when I heard they were coming to my area. I waited a long time, and they finally opened a few days ago, so I had to go! I wanted to avoid the crowds, so I made sure to go during the work week. I parked right by the door and found an empty register when I was ready to check out. There was a decent amount of people in the store, but the staff was doing an excellent job of keeping up and getting everyone out quickly. I found all my favorite products and some new ones to try. Everything was fresh, the store was clean, as they always are, and the staff was great, so friendly, just like they are at every location I've been to! GREAT to have this gem nearby. I had only been to a Trader Joe's once before this one opened but I sure am glad it did. Their products are really good quality and for a great price. Seriously, I do most of my grocery shopping here now and I've saved a lot of money while still sticking with mostly organic items. I'm a fan of their pre-made salads and burritos as well as their pesto marinated chicken breasts. It seems to be a terrific addition to the community. it's always busy and the staff is extremely pleasant and helpful. Even if you're loyal to the other big chain supermarkets in the area, TJ's is definitely worth a visit. read more

The produce all look fresh. All the products are are good to eat esp the frozen ones. For a small place , there's so much to buy. The strawberry moochie ice cream is so delicious ! I use to go to the Danbury CT, Trader Joe's but that was over 20 miles away, and a hike. I had made many requests to Trader Joe's corporate office to open a store in Yorktown, Somers, katonah or Mt. Kisco. Finally, they listened. Smile. This new Trader Joe's is a real blessing to many thousands of Trader Joe's customers. All the products are really good quality, and the staff that work there are very nice and friendly. They really help you compared to other stores in the area. The other point is that trader Joe's don't stock items from China, or Mexico like some supermarket do. Trader Joe's also donates a lot of there foods to local pantries to help people who are really struggling just to make ends meet, in these tough times. When a item gets close to its expiration date, trader Joe's sends it to the food pantries. I don't think many, if any stores even do this for struggling families? This Trader Joe's is great, there are plenty places to park and easy check out lines. They double bag everything for you right away and each time I've gone, there is little or no lines at all. We've been TJ shoppers for years, so it takes quite a bit to impress us. This is a very decent location, but we found a limited selection of items for the size of the store. We have been spoiled by the Hartsdale location for the past few years, which seems to always have a great mix of staples and seasonal items. The seasonal items in Yorktown are lacking, and you need to watch the expiration date on some of the prepared foods and bakery items. Cashiers have been friendly and fast at check out, just wish they'd carry a wider selection. read more

Hurts me to write this becuase I love TJ's but be careful of this store in Yorktown when buying meat. I went there a couple of days back to grab some chop meat for taco Tuesday. I brought the meat home and when I opened it there was a putrid smell. Smelled like someone had farted but in a disgusting way. The meat was red but was rancid. I took the meat back and spoke to maybe it was the manager (brown haired man with a closely shaven goatee) logging numbers in a book, it was about 8:30. I told him the issue and he looked at me like he couldn't give a care in the world. Not at the meat being rancid nor my time wasted going back to the store while dinner for my family was delayed. He barely said anything. This must be a common issue for them, he wasn't fazed in the least bit, didn't offer an apology nor did he fake being surprised. He really could have cared less. This is the second and last time, I've run into a problem with their meat. They must be using carbon monoxide (makes the meat red and stays red) and repacking outdated meat. The flippant attitude the careless worker had told me all I needed to know about how much they care if you get sick on their meat. They don't care at all, couldn't give two **** about your family. It was an eye opening experience. I read a couple of reviews that they have been not taking care of the meat properly but ignored them. Now I know better. Go to Trader Joe's on Crompond Road and purchase a terrible stomach ache or worse. Eating rotten chop meat could possibly kill you but no ***** given at Crompond Road. read more

The Yorktown store has been out of Lactose fee milk 1% for my last 3 of 4 visits over the last 2 months. Geez it's milk I do not need some exotic fruit or vegetable. Talked to the customer service desk and they gave me a supply chain/local milk farmer story. If TJ's suppliers can't deliver time to add another or replace the present one. Or carry a national brand (like skim plus). I realize TJ's has a mission to follow but so do I. It does not include shopping for MILK at several stores to buy milk. I worked at the Trader Joes in Yorktown Heights, and the management was absolutely dog shit. Charlie, (The Main Manager) on my first day was VERY disrespectful to me, I asked him a question about a product that was damaged because I didn't know what to do with it, and he had the audacity to say "what do you think you should do with it?" whilst giving attitude. They put me in the freezer for 4+ hours during my shift, which is illegal, and overall treated me different, the only manager I liked was Ben, he was very nice and caring. I would not Recommend working there, and if you shop there, be careful, they keep some expired items on the shelves. read more

Went in this location to check it out since it's fairly new. Very disappointed. I normally buy the pre made salads and was I in for a surprise. This was 10/1 and most of the different salads were sell by 10/3 or 10/4. I always check the bottom of the salad to see if the lettuce is fresh. Several were already turning brown. I went through about 8-9 salads and thought I found 2 that looked good. I was wrong. I opened one that night and one on 10/3 and both had browning lettuce. Nasty! I threw both out. What a waste. Was in here about 20 mins to closing on a Sunday night - just needed a bunch of bananas and avocados. for some reason they didn't have the organic bananas out just two stands of the reg bananas. which led me to buy a bunch and then have to return them. i approached the customer service desk to find the crew manager , Dylan M. getting ready to close up her register (counting money/taking out rolls). instead of acknowledging that i was there and attending to "serve the customer" (customer service) she ignored me and proceeded to count the money. after a couple of minutes, another associate approached me to ask me if i needed help which gave Dylan no other choice but to acknowledge me preventing her from avoiding me any longer. i went to grab the correct bananas, came back to the desk, she did the exchange, asked "do you need a receipt?" i said no thanks and she said "sure". for someone to be the MANAGER at TRADER JOES and have such low customer service skills is disappointing. giving this store 2 stars because it really bugs me when the trader joes staff have bad attitudes and also because the floor wasnt correctly monitored (2 regular banana stands instead of 1 reg and 1 organic). expected wayyy better for this new site read more
