One of the better Asian markets in the area, I'd say. You can find a lot of great goodies here - both fresh and packaged. I always leave with a ton of frozen items as well as sweets. There's a whole aisle of condiments and oils. The produce is decent quality. There's a small meat and fish counter in the back. I was happy to find this place because I've been searching high and low for a Chinese dessert that used to commonly be referred to as Wife Cake. My grandmother would always have some in her home whenever I came over to visit her and this was a favorite sweet treat of mine. Hmart doesn't stock this type of melon cake (according to their staff) so I went on a hunt looking. I wish Westchester had more Asian food offerings. I guess it's called Melon Cake now (in bakery section in front of store). It satisfied my nostalgia but the ones my grandmother gave me were a little tastier. These were a 3.7/5 so not bad. They stocked a bunch of my other favorites- preserved plum, candied ginger, seaweed lavers, chrysanthemum tea, milk candy (has a rabbit logo), etc. The staff there are very polite from the cashiers to the people who maintain the shelves. The overall condition of the store is good. It's kept clean and organized. They had everything I wanted. I will return for hot pot items pretty soon. As an aside it's near some great stores a short drive away. My husband and I prefer this place over the chaos of Hmart though they all serve a good purpose of making our beloved international food available. I hope this small business continues to thrive. The tea selection was pretty good, the snack selection was decent, great noodle section and condiment section. There's a small seafood section but honestly they still had a good variety. Cute housewares and knick knack sections but I wish they had a bit more. The produce section was decent with a variety. I only bought apricots, scallion, baby bok choy, and cilantro. They were all fresh. The frozen section had a great dumpling, potsticker, and meat section. I just wish the back few freezers were lit up so I could see all the contents better. Honestly, I'm thankful this place exists. I highly recommend that you check them out. The cashier speaks English too besides Cantonese and Mandarin. She was super helpful. A gem. Not sure of these low reviews -- maybe the market was under different management before? But love coming to pick up dim sum and roast meats on the weekend, and stocking up on Asian veggies and the like. A good selection of Chinese groceries as well as a surprisingly good selection of SE Asian ingredients as well. Store is clean and organized and the staff is very helpful when you ask them, and most speak English as well as Cantonese and Mandarin. Feels like a family run business, and I'm happy to support them. Cannot complain for the suburbs. read more

To be honest I didn't expect that much at this grocery but there is a wide variety of asian food/things that you can buy here! The grocery is huge! the interior is old and everytime I go here I felt depressed lol! Because of the lighting and the mood of the store but there is a lot of good stuffs here! Things and food that I love are: Wide variety of Filipino foods! They have ice cream, breads, warm foods! Snacks are a lot too! I think the name of this market is now Top Asia Mart. I come here to get my dim sum fill, roast duck, bbq roast pork, noodles, etc. on Saturdays when "the van" shows up with all of the goodies (that I'm presuming is straight from Flushing or equivalent source of authentic Chinese food). I also come here for Chinese decorations, hong bao envelopes and more. Lastly, I pick up my Filipino groceries (enseymada, Ube bread) and desserts like Kuchinta, Sapin Sapin, and more! The people who work there are nice. I hope this place stays open forever as they are serving a huge community up in the Westchester and CT area read more

I can't imagine why anyone would give this place a poor review. It has the most extensive selection of Asian brands and ingredients of anyplace this side of the Hudson. I love HMart, and Top Asia offers far more variety of ingredients than HMart. Maybe HMart has more selection of bulgogi and fish. Net net is this place is a valuable asset to the area. We are woefully weak on Asian markets. Top Asia is a welcome oasis. read more

I'm so happy I found this place! There aren't any Chinese supermarkets in the area, and the closest thing is Hmart. Don't get me wrong, Hmart is great but it is technically a Korean supermarket with 1-2 sections for other cuisines e.g. Chinese or Japanese. I can't find a lot of goods that I'm familiar with back at home, but New Golden has this special section of Chinese dim sum, roast duck, roast chicken, Chinese bakery breads and buns, even freshly made flat rice noodles everyday. I think that's what's special about this place. But unfortunately it seems this supermarket is on the dying end. It's pretty darkly lit and there are never a lot of customers. Really only one clerk needed at all times despite having many check out stations. It's location as well is ghostly, not like Trader Joe's 5 mins down the road where there are many cars going in and out I unfortunately bc of how empty it is don't really trust the meat. Vegetables as well are on the lower end and I'm not sure how fresh everything is. I really hope they find a way to light things up! Could be due to the low Chinese population in the area but it would be sad if this place ever closed down read more

Disappointed with the guy at the counter. I've been shopping here for years and never experienced this. After paying I just had the feeling of checking my receipt just to notice a double charge on the coconut milk and mind you how I paid in the receipt. Stay away from this supermarket if you can. I only went here because I was desperate and it was the closest grocery store. The ricotta was on sale for $3.99, there was a sign for it (which I took a picture, just in case) and it rang up the sale price of $3.99 but the cashier changed it to $5.99!! Never in my life have I ever experienced a store change something that same up on sale back to the full price. She argued with me and made me show the picture, even tho it came up the right price! She says "I'll give it to you". NO, miss, that's the price. Why did you change it?? Absolutely absurd. I hope everyone pays attention so this doesn't happen to someone else. I'm appalled. Sorry Hmart, but way before you came in, there was Golden Village Market. Golden Village is an Asian market, located on Central Ave., on the north-bound lane. It's tight, but you'll find a Bubble Tea station/Bakery on the left, with good slush or regular teas and racks of fresh baked bread, stacked in one corner. Main entrance has veggies, lychees, guavas and mangos. Fish department, is small but has the very basic- with salmon and other seafood. There's also a small, glass countertop refrigerator, carrying some cuts of meat. Staff is always helpful. In fact, when I'm doubtful about which veggies to cook or what sauce to use, they'll hook me up. Don't worry Hmart, you're still good for a lot of things. read more

This Chinese grocery is relatively selling fewer items compared to Chinese groceries in Brooklyn but nonetheless we were able to get the items we needed. They are selling Filipino products which I'll give a two thumbs up. Home-cooked food, pastries, snacks (brings back childhood memories) are in here. My daughter had a fun time (as always) strolling the aisles of the grocery and asking a lot of stuffs. The cashiers and staffs are nice. Like any Asian grocery store, you have to be aware and inspect product. I am so happy that my neighbor told me about Golden Village and to really make my 20-minute drive worthwhile by going on Sunday mornings. They have dim sum and pastries delivered from a place in Flushing by 10.30 AM. On my first trip, I picked up steamed bok choy, fried rice, wonton noodle soup, cheung fun with beef, beef chow fun, sesame balls filled with red bean paste, mini moon cakes, and lo paw beng (melon cakes), in addition to the Chinese sweet buns. SO GOOD to have a taste of Chinatown, but live in Westchester. Plus, they have snacks and frozen food galore. I picked up a tin of long roll cookies that I grew up on for my kids to try as well as Pocky sticks and panda cookies. I wish I could find the honeyball snacks there, but was running out of time and my shopping cart getting too full with my stuff and stuff for 3 other friends. So, there are two Asian markets within a short distance of one and other. I was in the area and went here and then remembered on past visits how disappointed I had been. Honestly, it doesn't look clean. The door to the back of the building was open then entire time I was there meaning that the pleasant odor of the trash was wafting in from the back right by the fish counter. Beware. Their customers do not take social distancing seriously. Today, I saw a lady with her kid paying at the register. Two older ladies were right behind her and started to put their groceries on the counter. They were almost on top of the lady and her kid. The lady asked them to step back and maintain social distancing. Instead of doing so, these ladies started screaming, calling her crazy and making racial slurs. The store did absolutely nothing! Step right into Asia...right in the middle of Westchester. This place, located in Scarsdale on Central Avenue, has been here for years and for those years, I always drove past it, not knowing what was really inside. Recently, I've been dying to find a place that sold that ever elusive, but awesome tasting Japanese "white sauce" (aka Yum Yum sauce, shrimp/steak sauce). Desperate, I decided to enter this place in one last real effort for a local place that would have what I'm looking for. Once inside, I was pleasantly surprised. What I saw while looking for my 'white sauce' was aisles upon aisles of just seasoning, sauce, and just about anything you can imagine as an Asian condiment. I FINALLY found my furikake I've been looking for for over a decade (I never knew what it was or how to even spell it, but knew what the package looked like!). I'm a fan of dumpling sauce and not only did they have dumpling sauce, but about every possible variation of it. Soy sauce? Forget it, there was at least one whole aisle of that alone, with any possible flavor, spice, or what have you that you can imagine. I never did find my 'white sauce, but it doesn't matter because I found plenty of other items inside that could easily hold me over. I didn't buy much past my condiments aside from a few things like chopsticks. The prices from what I saw were very reasonable. Sizable place, pretty clean, and the staff that I dealt with were pleasant. I know I could find the same things in Chinatown in Manhattan, but unless you're from Manhattan or near it, it's a hassle to come down to just for items like this. Locally for me, this is ideal. Located in a smaller strip mall of sorts with decent enough parking. I will most certainly be returning here and increasing my pantry inventory with as much as I can. Highly recommended for anyone in the area. There is a smaller Japanese grocery store about 2 miles away, but it's small and with limited items. I have been coming here every now and then for a couple of years. I was there around Chinese New Year 2021 and found out it is under new management. The name is changed from Golden Village to Top Asian Mart. Today, 3 months later I went with my husband (his first time). I am truly impressed with the improvements. The back meat/ seafood area used to smell bad but not today. The fish also seems so much fresher than before. There is still a small selection of vegetables (understandably for a small store) but it is also fresher than I remember. The shelves are more fully stock as well. It was pretty busy at 11 am on a Saturday so next time I will go earlier. (Hubby is a little freaked out.) I have always went after work during the week but I see they get fresh prepared food for the weekend! Really delicious pork buns!! That's a compliment from a Hong Kong-see. OK maybe I have been away from real Chinese food for too long living in Dutchess county!! Anyways, good going guys! There is a reason why this store has been open for over a decade - for it's ability to properly sell Asian goods in a professional manner and to uphold Asian culture by keeping their stocks of an uncountable number of imported and domestic foodstuffs based from Asia. From pocky to tilapia fish to ube ice cream, this store sells everything asian-related, with even those cat statues you see in asian-owned businesses on sale. They do so in a good manner and to anybody who is recognized by the store, the staff is uber friendly. To anyone who is new, the staff is even friendlier, just so they can get you as a return customer like almost everybody else who shops in this awesome abode of Asian goodness. The pricing is cheap and they will most likely will have what you're looking for as long as it originated from Asia. The parking outside is decent. Also note that the pleasant lady who owns the store has done so for several years and has maintained her storefront enough to open up an adjoining bubble tea cafe, which is sublime in it's respects. The bubble tea may be served in a slow manner, but when it comes out chilly, you will enjoy every sip. My suggestion is to buy whatever neat-o Asian goods you fancy, purchase one of many bubble tea drinks, and leave with a box of Asian chow for later. read more

For some reason, I have never been to a "nice" Asian supermarket. And I am half Filipino! I have never seen a "clean" looking Chinatown either. Don't ask me why. Maybe appearance isn't a number one priority. Needless to say, I will shop here occasionally, especially since Stop and Shop's Asian section literally equals two boxes of frozen egg rolls and a weak sushi selection, filled with California rolls, (or what I like to call, "safe sushi" for non sushi eaters) by the seafood isle. Very nice market. It's really hard for me to go here anymore with Kam Sen right up the street. I've been going to this market a lot longer and mostly during my teen years. If you're looking for any, and I mean -ANY- Asian specialty items in Westchester, your best bet is at Golden Village. This mini supermarket is teeming with esoteric Asian delights. I'm no expert, but I'd say the majority of the items are Chinese/Japanese/ and with some Thai and Indian thrown in. They have some hard to find produce and fresh various fish and misc. unlabeled meat parts. ;) That said, I've been there a few times and it seems the quality of the fresh items can vary greatly. I got some awesome baby bok choi on the cheap, but buyer beware on some of the other stuff. Also a bit disturbing are the boxed to-go items from the cafe next store...just sitting out on the shelves...stewing in their warm juices until someone picks them up. Not sure that the health department would really be on board with that so again, buyer beware. But where the heck else can I get fresh durian, Mae Ploy Thai curry paste (not canned!), and my beloved pork buns all under one roof? Awesome. The English sign for the store seems to be burned out so you'll have to look for the characters and there's plenty of parking. read more

I could spend the better part of a day in this place. I wish Golden Village offered a "tour" of all their great stuff because there are great little vittles that I know I'm missing out on because of the language barrier! They carry every Asian goody you could want, including prepared food to take home. They have a hot food bar in the Bubble Tea shop/bakery next door which is pretty good. The lunch special costs about $4 for a meat & veggie with noodles or rice. I can never pass up bubble tea, so I got the coconut. Ok, but a bit too sweet. Wonderful find and wide open spaces! Now I don't have to pay for parking in the White Plains mall to buy Asian goods. The egg tarts looked really good, but I had to pass.
