Hands down the best food i have ever eaten…read more I am a huge ramen fan, but man oh man, this place makes the best. it has ruined me to other noodles. its go here or eat cup of noodles in tears. subpar noodles from other places just aren't worth it. i almost wanna tell you not to go, cause once you try it you won't be able to go back to whatever sorry excuse of a ramen place you used to go to. that place will be dead to you. you can tell the broth was lovingly prepared, its fatty and delicious and the blend of flavors is divine. they don't skimp on the noodles, and they serve everything in real dishes despite being more of a "fast food" type of eat in restaurant (order at counter and sit at table). and its not just the ramen thats great, the curry is sooooooooo delicious. if i ate here everytime i wanted to, i would weigh 600 pounds. that is the only reason i'm mad at this place. they close around 7 or so, and i work in the city so i can only make here on weekends on food. the staff are all very nice and accommodating. the ramen side is cash only, however there have been multiple times that they let me pay with card in the grocery side after placing my ramen order, so don't let that issue deter your choice to come here. eating here is probably the closest to heaven i will come on this earth, do yourself a favor and just stop by.

I originally wanted to grab some Bye Bye Baby items for a co-worker's shower- but they've since shut down. Lo and behold, Rice Factory- located at a strip mall on Central Ave In Scarsdale, was staring at me. I'm not here to tell you what type of rice milling equipment they use- because one: I don't know and two: I won't pretend I know because this is all new to me. What I do well is- is how to cook commercial rice I get from my local supermarket. With a natural, light color wood and modern design in mind, it's also serene as Japanese instrumental music played in the background. All these details made me feel relaxed. Rice F. makes it super easy for you to select the type of rice and how much you want it milled. The entire process was an eye-opener. I chose the 100% white rice- and I get it- at this point of the milling process, most (or all) of the nutrients are stripped. If you're not coming here for the milled rice (I mean...why wouldn't you?), Rice F. also stocks tableware supplies, small ceramic serving ware and a complete range of these delicious rice crackers which I got my hands on to try, a can of Japanese sardines and of course, a 2lb bag of milled white rice. Service was incredibly pleasant and patient as one of the ladies took the time to explain how to cook Japanese rice. For all your rice needs- and a little beyond, Rice F. is your spot. Produce is plentiful and very fresh. They are well stocked with necessities--milk, bread, eggs, snacks--as well as less-common small market fare such as quinoa and herbal teas. They have a coffee station and a deli counter with cold cuts or where you can grab breakfast or a sandwich to go. In short, all of your standards and more, with a slight emphasis on Eastern Europe/Mediterranean fare--different for this neighborhood that tends to skew Irish, but not unwelcome. More than just a supplemental place to pick up a few things, you could almost use this as a primary supermarket. What a welcome addition to this neighborhood.

You can say the fruit and vegetables (what they have) look okay or fresh enough...but unfortunately when you get home and are ready to eat and prepare the produce, it's on the old side and not fresh at all. I've had to throw away certain produce because they weren't in good shape. The apples seem to look okay...but when ya get home and you bite into them, they're brown and mushy. Just a waste of money. I/We have purchased dairy products in the past such as eggs, milk and yogurt and have had to return the items because they were either old and/or spoiled. Perhaps they have a refrigeration problem or the thermostat is kept way too low?? Just no good. We've noticed that many items on the shelves are on the older side and are outdated. Ketchup, mustard, honey and cookies to name a few. The store did not seem to be very clean the last time I stopped in. The floors were sticky and the merchandise on the shelves were very dusty. I came in to return a gallon of milk which was spoiled and the cashier was very nasty and rude to me because I did not have a receipt...meanwhile she was the one who rang me up the day before. She gave me my money back...but gave me a very hard time for no reason. This is no way to treat customers and to run a business. No way!! Normally a person could just let this go...but this is not the first time. It's happened several times. The little one (cashier) in particular has a rotten attitude. I/We won't be going back to this store anymore. There are better markets and stores one can go to without these types of problems. Not worth it. Sorry......
