the cashiers are really rude and even when you talk back they get mad like they weren't throwing your things. there are these 2 women who are really rude i went there so many times and it gets so bad that i just even leave my stuff there and walked out because im not dealing with that. This is my local dollar general, the closest one to my home and my family. I come here weekly for groceries and have been for years. I've called about this already and nothing was done about my interaction. I've been refraining from coming into this store on weekends because of a worker here who has been giving me trouble. i came in three weeks ago to be stared at by the cashier. Her name is Sarah. She stared at me, threw my change down at me and when i asked her to politely hand me my change she called me a 'fucking n-word' under her breath. I am black, so when i turned to ask her what she said to correct her behavior she said that she "couldn't be fired because of her disability". I don't think any establishment should hire or keep anyone who is racist purely for their disability. I was hurt, i told everyone i knew to not come back to this dollar tree. One of the better dollar tree stores I have visited and I have visited a bunch .This peekskill location is well stocked , organized, clean and workers who seem to care .Picked up the usual dollar tree stuff, napkins, paper plates , cups , brillo pads , cleaning supplies , , etc. That extra quarter per item has many folks upset but that's life so deal with it . For 50 bucks I got plenty of useful junk and you can never have enough Reynolds wrap or dishwashing liquid soap in my opinion. Bring your own bags as the paper bags are cheap and tear apart easily. Dollar tree in peekskill gets 4 stars on my yelp meter and the shelves are not empty and store is not a horror show mess. read more

I have to say that the work is there are working very hard to keep the store cleaned and stocked. Saying that I see customers making the mess and the workers are trying to keep up, yes there are long lines but they are short staffed at times. This dollar tree is one of the best dollar trees around! The store is always clean. The shelves are always stocked neatly. The staff are always there to help you. I just came from the dollar tree in Mahopac, which was a mess! Stuff was everywhere on the floors The items on the shelves looks like it was just thrown there, just a mess! This Dollar Tree is fairly new so it's sad that it looks like that. The only good thing was the guy at the register was so sweet. As dollar stores go this place is tits. It's a little dirty, a little disorganized, a little chaotic, but they have shit you need and it's all $1 or less. None of this BS at other dollar stores where things are $109, $1.29, etc. Also they're new and improved hours of staying open until 10 PM are pretty awesome, and they just recently installed a whole wall of freezer cases of the back of the store Dash telling you frozen foods will be arriving shortly! This is a very good Dollar Tree. The staff is hard working and friendly. I can't believe how busy this store is and how they manage to keep the shelves stocked! The store is clean and I see staff doing their best to maintain while customers make a mess. I have seen some recent poor reviews and these folks are full of crap! They offer a wide range of goods for $1.25 or less. So what if they raised their prices it took them 40 years to do it. I return my cart when I'm done. Lazy peeps leave them in the parking lot. These types of stores are typically understaffed. Occasionally there are long lines but they move quick. Maybe appy to work if long lines or no carts is an issue for you. This store has done a complete 180 degree turnaround from what it was in 2018. Keep up the good work and don't let the negative reviewers get you down. I prefer the dollar tree over other dollar stores because items are actually a dollar. Items of the shelves were pretty messy. The lines were long only had one person checking out and one other staff member I could find working. They also talked about customers in front of other customers which is a little bit unprofessional. Well its true u get what u pay for. The thing here is all about price. Things are cheap and the have a motley of crap of your choosing. Love Dollar Tree everything is a dollar. Great products, many name brands items. This location not well maintained. Always has empty shelves. Boxes are always ready to be put on shelves but rarely see people stocking. Shopping carts are hard to find. Cashiers are pleasant ,attentive however. i have been going to that store for around 10 yrs. and yesterday was the last..i believe he is the mgr. when i asked him if the store was going out of buisness he never answered me..thats how he has been for the yrs i have been going..i asked the question because there shelves were empty and my 45 min. drive there was a waiste of time.. i have spent quite alot going there and he knew i was familiar..this man needs to learn the way to speak to people.. so i will find nother store more in my neck of the woods and the hell with the peekskill read more
