The store is clean and the staff are friendly. We will go back to get balloons and birthday supplies next time.

I just got out of the dollar store. It's Sunday, November 23rd. I asked them to fill up three…read moreballoons for me for school. It clearly says it's $2.49 per balloon and the owner charged me 18 bucks. The cashier that I had was a really nice man and I think he felt bad that was too afraid to ask the owner for a change in price. Normally, this place is my go to thing for everything. But prices have gone up. It's literally not a dollar store anymore. They actually change the prices when they get to the cashier. Just a note to the dollar zone. I don't mind paying more for something, but I just wanted to let you know the stickers that you put on your items do not come off so it's hard to give them as a gift.

They are ridiculous....they accept NO exchanges,, even with a receipt. Everything is now $1.19…read more (wouldnt $1.20 be easier) The biggest problem is the staff...they are a large Indian family who yell across the store all the time...any time you ask where something is (since they move items constantly), they act as if you are asking for their first born child! They treat customers like cattle....they know me...i have told them i have had bowel surgery and have urgency which does not allow me to leave to go to the nearest store without a major accident...They responded that they would have me arrested. i told them to please call the cops and they could find me in the staff toilet. Since that time, they have accused me of "breaking things", leaving the BR a mess (trust me...the homeless would be offended by the filth). Oh, BTW, they never called the cops when i used their bathroom nor did they complain when i pulled deodorize, hand soap and paper towels from their shelves to stock their bathroom!! We still shop there for bargains...esp holiday items...but i am as nasty to them as they are to me and others...getting yelled at is normal for them...I remind them we are not in the streets of Calcutta and deoderant and manners are routine in our neck of the woods!! Why still shop there, you ask? Well, my shopping has decreased by at least 50% and i am very clear what i am there for and take NONE of their crap...btw, i can honestly say at least 5 of my friends feel exactly the same way...basically, we use them when it is convenient for us and we dont feel like paying $5.95 for a BD card.....but they manageed to alienate most of the neighborhood! Hope they read this and spend a. minute or two examining their behavior, Oh ...you should note that when they first opened, they were 'normal' and didnt look like they were running a Nazi camp...they really keep getting worse and worse! A friend of mine is opening a small artisan consignment shop, and we were able to find amazing store displays--stand shelving, a bench, and several other pieces that helped create the perfect rustic yet chic, neutral look she was going for. The staff and volunteers were incredibly pleasant, welcoming, and helpful throughout our visit. Parking is free, and I highly recommend going early during the weekday to make it easier to find a spot and less crowed. This place truly carries everything you could need for your home--sofas, bedroom and office furniture, bathroom items (from sinks to toilets), pots, home décor, light fixtures, shelving... you name it, they likely have it. They are constantly receiving new donations, so you never know what you'll find on a daily or weekly basis. Every time we thought we had found everything we needed, we decided to take one more look--and each time, we discovered even more great items. On top of that, it feels especially good knowing that your purchases support such a meaningful and worthwhile organization. If you have furniture or home items to donate, this is absolutely a place to bring them. I will definitely be back and highly recommend stopping in--you never know what treasures you'll find!

I didn't find what I needed but got tons of help from the staff as I looked. They even lent me their tape measure since I had forgotten mine. She also mentioned that they have a moving company to help you transport purchases for those of us who are car-free. * friendly helpful staff * clean * large inventory * transport available

My favourite was the corn beef with cheese, everything on it heated under a cast iron press. Oh my GOD, it was my heaven! After 45 years passed by and I had to look it up as my all'time best sandwiches. It was expensive, yes, was $8, not bad today's standards but back then was a hefty price. It was a nice portion, should of been good for 2 meals, but I was never able to stop at the half way down as a growing man. The taste............. fantastico, I still can taste it in my mouth!

I've been coming here since the early '80s -- my dad introduced me to this place when I was a kid, and I've never eaten anything else from here except their famous Wedge -- a pastrami con todo (pastrami with everything). This place has been serving Yonkers residents for over 50 years, and the friendly staff really makes you feel like part of the family. I love this place, my children love this place, and my wife would kill me if she ever found out I came here and didn't bring her a sandwich or share one! Even my sister-in-law, who follows a strict gluten-free diet, sacrifices her usual routine just to enjoy one of these sandwiches. Best sandwich spot in Yonkers, hands down. Trust me, call ahead if you can -- you'll want to get your hands on that wedge!
