I have gone to several watch repair places where they would inform me the watches are not fixable, Rafael and his son are above and beyond skilled and talented And I am lucky to have my watches service by them. One of my watches I had to wait for a few months to get the replacement parts so just be patient because they definitely were able to find the mechanism to fix my watch. Knowing that Watchpital has done work for Channel, last fall I took a Chanel necklace in and inquired regarding the changing of pearls to beads. I was told that the beads needed to be restrung so that there was extra wire on the ends. Then he would attach them to the clasp. This week I returned expecting to leave the necklace at Watchpital for the exchange from pearls to beads. At that time I was told that he no longer wanted to work on Chanel items, whereby I stated that I was disappointed, knowing that I followed his directive to change the beads and full expected him to honor his commitment. I have always been an advocate of local family owned business'. This is a classic example of why I will now go to New York to have work done. We had two watch batteries, a waterproof seal, and leather band replaced quickly and inexpensively- all in about 15 minutes after dropping in. I was very pleased to find a business able to do the right repairs in my neighborhood. I hate to do this to a local merchant. But the experience has been kind of beyond the pale. I dropped off a watch in MAY for repairs. Never received a call back for estimates on the repair; I finally called back in June and they told me they called and left a message regarding cost and completion. We agreed that they must've had the wrong number or something, since I never got the message. Anyway, I agreed to the terms and they said they'd call when it was complete. I double-checked to make sure they had the right number this time (they had it correct the first time, from what I was told.) So here we are. It's September. I still don't have my watch back. I have called and left 3 messages, no one ever picks up the phone or returns my call. Are they even there? Are they just ducking me? It's totally bizarre. Anyway, I can't recommend these people based on what I've been through with them. I would very much like to get my watch back though. read more

I hadn't been in Watchpital before today, but I needed to get a ring resized and read Elizabeth's review. As she said, within a few minutes Mr. Delgado had resized my ring and wished me a good day. The business is family owned, apparently. Him, his son (or was he a nephew? can't remember) and sister run the place. They sell jewelry, some of which he's made, watches, miscellaneous gift items, and do repairs. I'll definitely be back, next time to buy. read more

I brought 4 watches to get batteries replaced. And also asked to get one link removed from one of the watches. They charged $10 additional for removing a link which took less than 30seconds. They claimed that tools are very expensive. Very funny! They take advantage of it if you don't ask the price first. Stay away from it!! read more

I brought two watches in to Watchpital yesterday, my first trip there and it was over an hour's travel but it is hard to find good watch repair other than going online. The owner was in the back and one of his sons waited on me immediately in a very charming and freindly way. He got his dad when he saw the condition of one of the watches. They kept one for repair and gave me the other back with a new battery. It was fun for me to be able to watch them at work because I'm very curious. When I got home, I saw that they had repaired a flaw on the silver band, where one of the holes holding the links together was open - the dad had just fixed it by welding a small silver bit across without saying a word about it or charging me. How nice is that! The watch they kept was very damaged and most places would have told me to just sell it for the parts, but I bet he will do a great job if it is possible to fix it, and he quoted me a price that was very reasonable. The atmosphere of the store was relaxing, and he has beautiful jewelry, watches, lots of interesting clocks and vintage jewelry for sale too. It was so nice to go to a jewelry store where the people are real. read more

I have been bringing my jewelry to this establishment for years for repair. The work is ALWAYs performed perfectly and very quickly! In the past I had taken my jewelry to several other stores for repair and the prices at Watchpital are far more reasonable, and the work is of much better quality relative to those other jewelry repair stores. Recently I wanted to pick up some pieces that had been repaired but I was leaving the office later than expected. I called to ask if the owner could stay thinking that I might be 5 minutes late after the scheduled closing time. Due to traffic, I was delayed 1/2 an hour and the owner waited for me. I apologized profusely on arrival and the owner just smiled and said no problem. I will never take my articles anywhere else! read more

I inquired to see if Watchpital could make a simple repair to the pendulum and reset the chimes on a valuable antique clock. Prior to the pendulum breaking, the clock had been running perfectly for two years. The owner said he had experience repairing "many" of these clocks. When I got the clock back a week later, it would run for only a few minutes and then stop. We called to explain the problem, and the owner became irritated and started making excuses that the clock is not really a working timepiece. Now, I am out $135 and my clock is messed up. read more
