Wasn't feeling well, so I decided to go to Ocean to grab dinner my husband and soup for sore throat. I have to say that the noodle wonton soup "wonton min" as we would call it back home in Hawaii, was very flavorful and loaded with veggies. The noodles were thicker than chowmein noodles but I didn't mind it at all. My suggestion is to not give so much noodles but add more broth. The wonton was delicious and of course you have to add the spicy mustard. The restaurant is very clean and tidy, and the staff are very friendly. Yesterday, I visited the only chinese restaurant in Winters, California, Ocean Chinese Restaurant and was highly impressed. It is nestled within its communities downtown area where there are plenty of parking. I was presently surprised to hear they are family owned and operated which was clearly evident by their hospitality and outstanding food. The staff were all friendly and welcoming. There were so many options on the menu. Everything we tried was delicious. I live in the greater Sacramento region where there are many chinese restaurants to choose from, but this small family owned restaurant has been the best I've experienced thus far. Everything is made from scratch and I could definitely tell in the taste. We started off with some hot & sour soup where I noticed the soup broth was not watered down like many other restaurants. For appetizers: We got pan-fried potstickers, fried shrimp, and crab & cheese wontons; all hand made and on point! For the main course: We ordered their signature general chicken, sweet & sour pork, orange chicken, honey walnut prawns, moo-shu chicken with 4 chinese pancakes, chow mein and fried rice. The restaurant is small, but we arrived early for dinner and had no trouble finding a seat for my large party. The restaurant started filling up with all the locals who got greeted by the server David. Seemed like Mr. David knew each local customer who paid a visit to the establishment. Showed me that Mr. David invests in his customers by building a good rapport. I am so happy I tried this restaurant. My husband & I came here to p/u a TOGO order today for the guys doing cement work at our house. We tried calling in the order at 11am, which is when they open, but no one answered the phone until probably 11:20am. We ordered 3 of the Combo lunches. They are supposed to include Soup, 1 Egg Roll, 1 Crab & Cheese Wonton, Fried Rice, Chow Mein and your choice of either Veggie Deluxe, Sweet n Sour Pork, Broccoli Beef or Kung Pao Chicken for $13.95 ea. I also got an order of Chicken Chow Mein $10.95, as well as an order of Egg Rolls (4) for $8.95 The order was to be ready in about 30 mins, and since they don't deliver, we went to pick it up ourselves. I told my husband to check the order before we left, but all he did was count the containers. Of course we got home only to find out they didn't bother giving us any soup which is supposed to come with each combo meal. I was happy to see that they don't use Styrofoam containers. I tried my husbands Sweet n Sour Pork which was rather chewy, and his fried rice tasted a bit burnt. The Egg Rolls were hot a crispy, but the sweet n sour sauce was almost a fluorescent red color which was a bit scary. My Chicken Chow Mein was hot and plentiful, and not too salty, which I love. read more

Not only because it's their only Chinese restaurant but how good their food is as well as the customer service! Walking in brought me back to my childhood, total HOLE IN THE WALL! Old school vibes for sure, I automatically knew the food was gonna be fire! Went in my first during lunch one afternoon and I dine'd in. I ordered Mongolian beef with steam rice. It was great, it was made fresh and came out piping hot! I also got soup with my lunch plate. My only complaint about my dish was that it had too much scallions and not enough meat. But that wasn't gonna stop me from trying more dishes! Second time in, I ordered curry chicken over rice to go! And OMG soooooo goooood! The best I have had in SOME YEARS! And they even give you soup too! I know a lot of Chinese restaurants don't do soups for to go orders but Ocean's views are different on that aspect and I'm here for it! Egg flower soup and hot and sour soup are always YUM! Customer service is always wonderful! They know their customers and they stay BUSY! Especially during dinner time, Friday nights and I can ONLY imagine what the weekends must look like there! For being the only Asian food restaurant in winters, this restaurant really marks off all the boxes! I ordered takeout online, at 6pm on a Saturday and the food was ready within 30 minutes. Coming into the restaurant, the employees were extremely nice and had the food ready to go. I was in and out of the restaurant in two minutes, which is great for a pickup order! I did not eat inside the restaurant but for those who may want to, there is tons of seating, not too many people inside, quiet vibes within the establishment with just the sound of cooking and table conversations, and tons of available parking outside. The food itself was great, very fresh and not heavy on the stomach. This whole plate was super affordable and came with a cup of soup, a single egg roll, fried wontons, and then everything in the plate which was more than enough to feed two people or have leftovers. It would come here over driving to another location in Vacaville any day, and definitely beats Panda Express. I'll start by saying they use brown meat as well as white, brown meat is very rubbery. The flavor was decent, if it could be fully enjoyed. We have a 1 year old ( if you have raised kids you know at that age they get into everything). She was playing with the sugar packets, not ripping them open or anything, and the waitress got mad and asked for the sugar and moved it. They then kept asking if they could take our plates before we were done eating, as if they didn't want us in there any more because or our baby. My family will never come back here again. read more

The "beef chow mein Hong Kong styled" turned out to be "tomato beef chow mein Hong Kong style". The noodles were the egg noodle type, not the skinny noodles so it did not quick fry well at all. The heated up tomato beef sauce could not soften the noodles. Could not bite into it. Like eating a can of very stale Chung King crispy fried noodles. The tomato beef sauce, however, was good. Sooooo.... I finally got to eat at Oceans and it's wonderful. The food is fantastic. Fresh. So fresh and flavorful. The owners are wonderful and will make suggestions about the extensive menu. They ask what you like and have been right on with the options. I've loved everything I tried and we have been in a few times now. The pot stickers are amazing. I love the shrimp dishes and Mongolian beef. The war won ton soup is my go to. They are closed on Monday. Sometimes they close other random times. The hot and sour soup came first, very yummy with just the right amount of kick for me who doesn't like stuff on the spicy side. So much food! Found this gem when coming home from sacramento airport . This is one of the best Chinese food i have had in a long time. they make you feel at home when you sit down run by parents that opened it in 1995 and their daughter and son work there. the prices are wonderful and the servings are large. highly recommend this restaurant. it is over an hour drive for my wife and I but it's a hour worth driving. We discovered it a few months ago when we decided to do a little exploring outside of our regular "go to" places. I thought the food was great. We went again today as we were coming home and they did not disappoint. It's a small hole In the wall place with great food, and friendly service. This time around we got their appetizer platter and it was great. A sample of all their appetizers. I had their combo plate and it was great! I have 3 different dishes I judge the restaurants by. Fried Rice, Chow Mein, and Orange Chicken. The chicken and the beef chow mein were on par, and today I tried their Sweet n Sour pork, and that was done excellently.
