Worst Chinese food I've ever eaten Food was delivered luke warm not hot We received wraps for our dish that wee ripped in the center when we asked for More we were informed they were the last ones. Two of the dishes were delivered to table without serving spoons. I would not recommend this place. read more

Hadn't been here in years, actually forgot it was here. Being New Year's Day nothing is open, except Chinese, so we checked it out. The owner greeted us and promised the best Chinese food in town! On a road trip and craving Chinese food. We were on the I-505 and came across this place. Glad we stopped in. Our waiter was the owner's son and he was fantastic! We ordered our food and it was made fresh to order. I tried the Orange Chicken, cooked tender and fried with the right amount of sweet to spice! (I did ask for medium spice) Very flavorful and loved the bits of orange peel in the dish. BF ordered Almond Chicken. Lots of flavor and juicy tender chicken. Both came with rice and a bowl of soup. Loved the egg flower soup, one of the best I have had. If we are craving Chinese when we pass by thus area, we will for sure be back. Hidden gem in thus small city!! read more

This place is amazing!!! I've been going here for years and the food is always consistent and always delicious! :) The staff is super friendly and the dining room is always pleasant! They even have really good air conditioning, which is a plus since we're talking California heat here. The food is fairly affordable and it's always just so good! I cannot stress enough how great the food is. It's very consistent, which is a big bonus for me since I have a lot of texture sensitivities. I can always count on it being the same every time and I love that about this place. If you're ever looking for a chinese takeout or dine in place, Ocean's can't be beat! :D read more

Tried their Hot & Sour Soup today. Not too spicy, well rounded flavors, full of goodies like chicken and tofu. A large serving was a full meal for only $6! When I ordered, the waiter exclaimed, "You know it's hundred degrees outside, right?! How about a nice Chinese Chicken Salad?" Small town service, I love it! read more

Chinese Food for me is a big deal and it brings back memories of my childhood, I took my wife on a day drive to de-stress and get away, we drove up to lake berryessa from Napa and into winters and found this spot. Staff was pleasant. They checked in with us and food was out quick and was very very delicious I literally brought it to work for lunch the next day. Definitely worth the drive and was satisfying. They were very patient with us since we had our 7 month old baby girl with us and she was fussy. I recommend it and I'll be going back. read more

My boyfriend and I moved to Winters in 2019, the night we arrived we got here at 9 pm with all of our cooking supplies packed away and exhausted. I was craving chinese, found this place online and picked up some dinner. Hands down the BEST Chinese I have ever had. Their potstickers have spoiled me to the point where I can't eat them anywhere else without being disappointed. The service is UNYIELDING. David and his family make you feel like your one of their own, and they add to the excitement of returning. This place became a weekly regular in our home and a place I always brag about to friends. read more

Excellent food. If you like Chinese food, you really should try Ocean Restaurant - especially the beef and broccoli. Great quality beef and cooked perfectly. They are very proud of their food and rightly so. They cut no corners and this shows in the quality of the food. It's worth paying a lttle bit extra and travelling a little bit further . Sorry, no photo - I forgot and I've eaten it all! read more

The food was ok. The service was good. The ambiance was adequate. I had the Shrimp Chow Fun and my wife had the Orange Chicken. The Orange Chicken had more sauce on it than I have ever seen and it was a darker and stronger sauce than I had ever tasted. The Shrimp Chow Fun was very good but I have had better. If you are passing thru Winters like we were and you are dying for Chinese food this will satisfy your craving but this is not must have dining. A hidden credit card surcharge which I didn't see posted on the menu or the door was an unwelcome surprise. read more

This restaurant was recommended to me and I waited several months to try it. Tonight was the night. We ordered 2 combination dinners, one sweet and sour pork and a Mongolian beef, combination egg foo young, combination chop suey and an order of egg rolls. Kids liked their combination dinners. Son said the Mongolian beef was the spiciest he's had but really good. Daughter enjoyed her sweet and sour pork. The rice was a bit bland for my preference but not horrible. I was pleasantly surprised that they actually sent the soup in a little to-go container, most places only serve it for dine-in. The egg foo young was absolutely delicious, seriously the best I've ever had anywhere in Woodland or Davis (Wok of Flame's is disgusting). A restaurant in Natomas is my second favorite now but it was my first, until today. The chop suey was okay. Kind of bland. The gravy was definitely missing something. The sauce for the egg rolls was thick and delicious. I've never had such a thick sauce but it's perfect to me. I think it's important to mention that we ordered when we arrived, were told it would be 25-30 minutes for our order but I don't think we even waited that long. We drove home to Woodland and the food was still piping hot when we sat down to eat it. Overall, we were happy with our dinner and will go back to try more items. read more

I've probably eaten here about 10-12 times and thought it was decent but not great. There are limited food options in town which kept me coming back. Ordered the General's chicken from here tonight, but something was rotten in what they cooked/gave me. The smell was off immediately after opening the takeout container and very noticeably wrong after trying a bite. Ended up throwing the whole meal in the trash........ I called to let them know something in what they served me had gone bad and they didn't seem to care. read more

We went to this restaurant for takeout for the first time Sunday. We got the Family Dinner (A) for 3. To that we added Potstickers, Orange Chicken and Walnut Shrimp. The soup of the day was Hot and Sour and was the best we've ever had. All the dishes were delicious and plentiful! The whole meal was some of the best Chinese food we've had. This review is mostly about about service, or the lack of it. We have been here a handful of times…read morewith a group of 10 to 15, hoping each time that the level of service would improve. Here is what's going on. This latest visit was serviced by Zoran, but previous visits have suffered the same problems. An inordinate amount of time is required to provide everyone with a drink, even though many of our group order only water. The order taking is somewhat chaotic, although it appears that the server is making relevant notes about who orders what and who is together. Then the waiting begins. A few of the smaller items (soup, salad) emerge from the kitchen in maybe 30 minutes, the entrees don't start appearing before we have been seated for more than an hour, often longer. And this was a Wednesday afternoon--we arrived before 5:00 pm--when the restaurant was not near full and we had made a reservation the previous day. The food is generally good, if rather lightly seasoned. But I can recall no inquiries from the server about beverage refills; our requests for this require, again, an inordinate amount of time to fulfill. More than once our server made the trip from the kitchen to our table carrying only a single item, then back again, apparently, for another item that sometimes doesn't appear. When it's obvious that everyone is virtually finished with their food, the only way for us to receive our bills was to flag sown our server who finally appears with several slips of paper and absolutely no idea of who has ordered what, in spite of apparently making notes during the ordering process and delivering the majority of the dishes to our table himself. We finally all received our bills, but about half of our group failed to receive the traditional fortune cookie at all. Here's the thing: this pattern over several visits of the lack of server attention and skill is should be directly laid at the feet of management. Every server has to start somewhere, but the success and future of the restaurant largely depends on the work of the servers; poor service taints an otherwise good experience, even if the food is perfect. Not to mention the fact that servers are the sales people for potential extra revenue, e.g., upscale beverages, deserts, etc. We are reconsidering whether to return here as a group in the future, but over two hours for a meal seems excessive.

Oceans is such a gem here in Winters! It's the only Chinese restaurant in town, but honestly, even if there were more, this place would still stand out. The food is consistently delicious, fresh, and flavorful--we've been here multiple times and it never disappoints. Portions are generous, and the prices are very affordable, which makes it easy to come back often. The staff are always so friendly and welcoming, and service is quick without ever feeling rushed. One of the best hole in the wall restaurant around, always greeted with friendly staff. Cheap lunch special pricing, roughly 7-8 bucks and they load up your plate. Another good thing about this place is their willingness to fix whatever you want if it's within their power, things like no veggies in your chow menu, or extra beef in your beef broccoli. Most popular is the orange chicken made with thigh meat and none of that flour battered over it. It's a must have! For lunch today, I ordered the chicken yellow curry dinner with jasmine rice, and my partner got the Dang Jane and Tiger Roll. We also ordered a Thai iced coffee and Thai iced tea, both with light ice. Everything was yummy, smelled amazing, and tasted fresh. The staff is always friendly and welcoming, service is quick, and both the dining area and bathrooms were clean. My only minor "complaints" are that the Thai iced coffee had noticeably more ice than the Thai tea, and I do wish the curry came with a little more chicken. It feels somewhat overpriced, but then again, I understand that the cost of food, labor, rent, and running a small business has gone up considerably. They seem to be pretty slow whenever we come in for lunch, so we're happy to continue supporting a small local business we enjoy, even if it means making the drive from Vacaville. * I also wanted to comment on some of the reviews mentioning cockroaches. Obviously, nobody wants to see a roach while they're eating, and a restaurant should absolutely take pest control and cleanliness seriously. We've never seen one in all the times we've visited, and the restaurant has always appeared clean during our visits. At the same time, seeing a live roach doesn't automatically mean the entire restaurant or kitchen is filthy. Unfortunately, pests can make their way into restaurants, grocery stores, commercial buildings, and homes, even when pest control measures are in place. One review in particular seemed a little unfair to me. According to the review, they noticed roaches crawling from the wall toward their table, and one eventually crawled across the table and onto the chicken wing plate, where it hid underneath a carrot. The accompanying photo/video appears to show an essentially empty plate with garnish remaining and the roach among it. Personally, if I saw a roach crawling toward my table, I wouldn't sit there and watch it make its way across the table and onto my plate. And if seeing multiple roaches made me uncomfortable enough that I no longer felt comfortable eating there, I would stop eating, ask to cancel my order, pay for what we had already consumed, and leave. The restaurant removed the affected plate, killed the roach, and discounted the wings. That seems like a reasonable response to the specific plate the roach crawled onto. If the expectation was that the entire $95 check should have been discounted, that comes across as a bit entitled to me, particularly if the rest of the food had already been consumed. And I have to admit, I laughed a little at being upset about the roach and then also mentioning that the waitress squashed it and you "heard it crunch." What exactly was she supposed to do at that point, catch it and release it outside? ‍ I completely understand being grossed out and deciding not to return. Three roaches would absolutely be something worth bringing to the restaurant's attention. What I don't think is fair is suggesting that the restaurant did nothing about the situation. According to the review itself, the employee immediately came over, removed the affected plate, killed the roach, and discounted the wings. The $95 total also confused me a little. The food mentioned in the review was Drunken Beef, Shrimp Fried Rice, and chicken wings. Based on the prices I saw, that's roughly $60 before tax, tip, drinks, or anything else that may have been ordered. So there were apparently additional items or drinks that weren't mentioned. For comparison, our meal today, yellow curry dinner, jasmine rice, two sushi rolls, and two drinks, was $65 before tip. Again, nobody has to be okay with seeing a roach in a restaurant, and it's completely reasonable to bring it to the staff's attention or decide you don't want to return. Restaurants absolutely should take sanitation and pest control seriously. I just don't think one or two reported incident should automatically define an entire small business, especially when our own experiences here have consistently been positive. The food has always been fresh and delicious, the restaurant has been clean during our visits, and the employees have always treated us well. We'll definitely be back.

Today was a day spent exploring Davis to see the California Conference for the Advancement of Ceramic Arts (CCACA). What a great Conference. We come each year for this Conference and explore Davis every time we are here. After exploring the first building of the show it was coming on time to eat. We looked around the current shopping center and my husband didn't see anything he was craving. He said we'll go more into town and look for a noodle place. He said he remembered one from our last visit, down one of the alleys. Walking up the street we saw a couple of advertisements. A sandwich board was on the sidewalk for Davis Noodle CIty, the exact place we were looking for. The little Noodle Shop in the alley. We weaved through the other businesses, past the dumpling restaurant, past the outdoor seating and to the front door of the Davis Noodle City Restaurant. The out door seating looked really welcoming, but it was chilly out so we opted for eating inside with the other table that was occupied. There were 3 parties eating outside when we arrived. When we walked inside we were greeted and told to take any table. We choose a table in the corner. The menus were under the glass table top, keeping it clean and easy to read. Each place setting had its own copy of the menu. After looking at the menu, remembering what was offered on the sandwich board in front, and cross referencing it with Yelp Reviews we started ordering. We opted for the Five Spice Beef Noodles, and I asked if that was a good option and she said it was their top seller. The Yelp Reviews were only ok for that dish, but I took our chances. The second dish we ordered was the Dan Dan Noodles She tried to upscale us to the one with vegetables, but that dish was a cold dish so we when for the standard Dan Dan Noodles. Both dishes came out quickly. The Dan Dan noodles were not spicy as I anticipated, which was good, I wasn't really looking for spicy. I liked the flavor and realized that if you mixed it up there is a sauce on the bottom that is really tasty. Dan Dan Noodles ($8.25 a steal) is a solid dish and I highly reccomend it. It's a great bowlful of noodles. If you are hopping for other ingredients you are out of luck, it's 100% noodles with a sprinkling of peanuts on top and a sauce on the bottom. The Five Spice Beef Noodle Soup ($12.75)was as described in the reviews. It comes with American Broccoli and carrots. The beef is so good it melts in your mouth. The broth is minimal and lacked flavor. I'd think that it's advertised as Five Spice that it would have more flavor. I don't reccomend it if you are looking for a strong flavor. If you are looking for great meat, that melts in your mouth, but is also a little fatty then you have the perfect dish. Both dishes came with fresh noodles, none of those dried and rehydrated noodles that some places serve. The noodles on both dishes were different and pleasant. I highly reccomend their fresh noodles. Customer service was good. She came to check up on us and was pleasant. Parking is street parking. And they have a bathroom on site that is clean and well stocked.

Had to wave down the server many times during our meal, to order, ask a couple times for water and missing napkins, water refill, didn't check if we needed more hot tea, boxes for left overs, getting the bill, etc. Another ding for them is that we were given and billed for 2 items (chicken buns and steamed long beans) that we Did Not Order. I didn't not complain about it because we were fine eating the extra food, but that was annoying! Overall dining experience was 3/5 stars. Food was a solid 4/5 stars. Service was 2.5/5 stars. There are so many Chinese food options now in Davis. Not sure what's up with the service, but they really need to step that up if they expect customers to keep coming back.
