I've been seeing (pardon the pun!) Dr. Spaeth for 9 years. He is very patient and thorough and answers all my questions. He makes suggestions on correction options and works with me to find contact lenses that I find work the best for my eyes. The minute I walked in, my eyeglasses were analyzed, adjusted and cleaned ("can i have your glasses for a minute?"). The next minute I was seen by a very professional assistant, immediately followed by the OD, John, who introduced himself by his first name. John found something wrong with my eyes & adjusted the plan without skipping a beat, escalating treatment and asking tons of questions. When he thought he figured out why my eyes were responding a certain way (allergies), he still continued to eliminate all other possibilities (changed solution? ever slept in your lenses?). He & the assistants explained everything in layperson's terms, asked me about my daily habits and made several recommendations (don't top off your lens solution and here is why, rub back and forth, not circular when cleaning the lenses). They were curious about my experience with my insurance (safeguard), which they accepted and explained to me. They warned about the price on the prescriptions. I had two follow up phone calls later in the day after talking to a family member who is an ophthalmologist, and they answered my follow up questions right away in a common sense way. It is nice to have medical professionals who sweep with a broad brush and know how to respond and prioritize. They also had a good sense of humor. It is an obviously happy office. read more

The gals here really know their stuff! About a year ago they hampers me find glasses to match my wedding dress. Then about 3 months ago they made me some sun glasses. I had already gotten some glasses from Costco & Costco totally messed them up so I went here & the girls made the glasses got my head. I've been there 3 tones for the same Costco glasses & they have no problem helping me. They really made the difference & I will never go to Costco I for glasses again. The office was clean and bright. Dr. Spaeth was friendly and knowledgable and explained all the different alternatives available for my eyes. He spent time to answer questions and I didn't feel rushed through the appointment. There were many frames to choose from and the staff were great in walking through the frames that would work for me. My glasses were received quickly once ordered. So I spent 20 years in contacts visiting a new eye Doc every year. "New" because they either didn't listen, wanted to sell me something I didn't want or need or spent thier time talking me out of what I did want. Recently I got the Lasix surgery against the recommendation of a different local eye doc. After surgery they asked if I would be doing my after care with my "usual eye doc"? I informed them that I was lacking in "the usual eye doc" department and that was when they reffered me to Dr. Spaeth. This guy is awesome!!!! It's obvious he really just wants you to see your best. Both pre and post op he's been very informative without pushing his bias or opionion. The staff is great, they've even been nice to me when I'm late and seeing the doc is kinda like visiting an old friend. Oh and they didn't even harass me for the review unlike other practices that I've been to where every time you walk in the door you get another email asking for another review! So again, this place is awesome and I will definitely recommend to friends and family! read more

Dr Spaeth is wonderful. My 6 year old daughters friend got glasses a couple weeks ago, so she began telling us everything was blurry. When I called the office the receptionist was friendly and knowledgeable. She was able to answer all my questions regarding insurance, and was able to schedule an appointment for my daughter. The check in process was quick and efficient. Miley called my daughters name to walk through some eye tests prior to seeing the Dr. She is great with kids, and treated my daughter well, also, very patient, my daughter had a hard time keeping her eyes open for the picture, and she kept it fun. We only had to wait a few minutes to see the Dr. He has children around my daughters age, and we had some shared laughs over the 'trend' of children needing to see an eye dr when their friends get glasses. He was very patient with her, and made her feel comfortable during the eye exam. At the end, he determined that her eyes are perfect, and no need for further treatment. It is great to find an office that is kid friendly, and doesn't waste parents money just to waste. My husband and I will be booking our exams with Dr Spaeth shortly. read more
