I ordered two pairs of glasses both with progressive lenses. The price is awesome and the service was great but when I received them they were not right. I have to lift the frames up in order for me to read clearly. I brought them back and after attempts at adjusting the frames the salesperson remarked the lenses so that the reading portion of the lens was higher. I waited another week and a half and the lenses are the same. I have to hold them up to read. So the great price isn't so great if they don't allow me to read. read more

Having a new set of eyes (pun intended) on my own, I think I got a better service because my prescription has changed and I can see so much better! COSTCO's satisfaction policy and customer service in the eyewear department has declined. The manager, Christina, spoke rudely to me and in a deprecating manner to my caregiver. Previous managers have been kind, concerned, and helpful. This manager is out of control and void of compassion. She puts on an angelic front when the store manager is present. My glasses are not right. Christina has made notes that create disdain and an abusive attitude toward by her staff as well. I have done nothing to deserve this humiliating treatment. I have done business with COSTCo eyewear since 2008 and have experienced only kindness until now with Christina. read more

Who knew you could buy 10 gallons of peanut butter and get a top-tier eye exam under the same roof? I've always been a little hesitant about Costco Optical--figured it was the fast food of eye care. But I was totally wrong. From the front desk to the exam room, the care I received was excellent. I was seen early (win!), and the staff was professional, friendly, and surprisingly chill--especially when it came to the dreaded air puff test. That test has always given me anxiety, and explaining my aversion to it in the past has been awkward at best. Here? No pressure. No judgment. Just understanding. That alone made me feel like I'd found my new go-to for eye care. The exam was smooth, and I was genuinely impressed with how modern all the equipment was. Picking out glasses afterward was a breeze--no pushy upselling, and the price was unreal. Frames, lenses, and all the coatings included? Yes, please. Bottom line: Costco Optical in Aliso Viejo delivers high-quality care in the most unexpected place. I'll definitely be back (with or without my 10-pound block of cheese). read more

The service I received warrants NEGATIVE stars. I went to Costco Optical on Heather Ridge to get my glasses. I ordered two pairs of glasses for reading and one for distance. they called me to tell me two of the glasses were ready. the two glasses that were ready were the two frames I had purchased at Costco. One was supposed to be for distance and one for reading. I had also brought in my own frames and that was supposed to be another pair of reading glasses. first, I had to wait about 45 minutes to even talk to anyone. when my number was called, I asked the lady about my third pair of glasses and why there was a delay. she said you canceled the order. I insisted I had not, and she was basically a deer in headlights. the manager took a look and said something about the lab having sent them back due to the lines having been drawn on the lenses were incorrect, so they simply removed the lines and resent them to the lab. That issue was addressed... I was not happy, but had an answer other than you canceled the order!! by the way, when I asked where my frames were if I canceled the order, she had no answer other than she did not have my frames. I confirmed with her that the two glasses I got were one for distance and one for reading. she confirmed. I also asked about my distance glasses and if they did indeed have the transitions capability I had requested and paid for. She looked at my order and said no, no transitions, and that if I use them for driving, transitions make no sense because they won't change color in the car because they need direct sun to transition. this woman confirmed that one of the glasses was the reading and one for driving. I used my distance pair to look around and things were not right, I was told that it could just be a new prescription and that I may have to get used to them a bit. I used my new distance glasses to drive and it was absolutely awful; everything was fuzzy and hard to see. I tried for days to 'get used' to my new prescription, but it was impossible; so I decided to go back to my doctor to tell her how awful the new prescription was. luckily, today, I went and picked up my last pair of glasses. an extremely helpful and the only knowledgeable person I have met at Costco Optical in Laguna Niguel, told me that the glasses I picked up today are the distance ones and that the two I picked up before were, in fact, both reading glasses. I tried my glasses to drive home and they are in fact transitions. I could've killed someone driving around in reading glasses and having been told that I should try them for a few days to get used to my new prescription. I find the staff I have interacted with -except Jonathan -thus far at the optical department at best inept. Not the friendliest customer service. It just felt like neither of the ladies, both when I ordered AND when I picked up, really wanted to be there. I guess I would have job burnout too, but hey.... they work in a department that is a specialized customer service, personal, and targeting business people as a customer base. Maybe they should stock shelves for 6 months or until they can learn how to smile and not act so pretentious. Or, Walmart optical is hiring..... I rarely write a review and usually it is to express thanks for outstanding service or an excellent product. I just came home from the Costco Optical on Heather Ridge as they had called to tell me my contacts were ready. I waited patiently at the area designated to "Pick up Pre-paid contacts". A male employee with glasses was helping a customer in that exact spot and when the customer asked me if I could move so he could look in a mirror I was unknowingly standing in front of, I took the opportunity to ask the Optical employee if one of the other two female employees could help me. They were both appearing to be helping one customer and hadn't seen me as yet. He very curtly said, "One is on the phone and one is helping a customer." Then he looked at the male customer he was helping and smirked and they both smiled at each other (apparently at my admonishment). I felt belittled by these two men when I was just asking to be acknowledged and helped. I left without my contacts as it was really unpleasant to stand there under those uncomfortable circumstances. read more

I didn't see the optometrist here, but I bought my contact lenses here. Cheapest place to get it. No need to wait. Once they have ur prescription. It's in the system!!! Customer service is great. Went on a Monday night. It was busy but I got seen in about 5min. They also have MES in their system so if you are covered with them, u can get just go through their system! Last year they didn't MES. We had to mail the bill in... Another reason why I like Cost Co! read more

My daughter went to her regular eye doctor for her eye appointment, but we then took her prescription to Costco, because we wanted to check out the prices of their optical department. The prices were great compared to the eye doctor's prices for glasses. Being that they are now working with Covid guidelines, Costco only allows three people at once to look in the eyeglass section. When you are done trying on a pair of eyeglasses you then put them in a container which they come take, and clean all the frames that you have tried on! We thought that was such a great idea. The prices on their frames are fantastic. My daughter ended up getting two pairs of frames with high index lenses, which basically means that they make the lenses very thin, and they came out just beautifully. We had a few ladies that helped us the day we went and also the day we picked up the glasses, and wanted to give them all a shout-out. SO A HUGE THANKS GOES OUT TO, Norma, Carolyn, Cassandra, Fabiola and Helen! These ladies in the optical dept. were all so helpful and so sweet! read more

I stopped here to order a pair of prescription glasses. I already knew which pair I wanted so I grabbed a number and waited for about ten minutes until it was my turn. The guy helping me was prompt in putting my info in their computer as I hadn't used this location before. His service was good up until he told me my total. I had called earlier in the day to inquire and was told $175 for glasses and the particular frame I wanted. He rang me up and said my total would be $285! I am glad I had called ahead of time otherwise I would have been ripped off.. he choose the most expensive lenses which are unnecessary as my prescription isn't that strong and these are a backup pair of glasses as I mainly wear contacts. I do not know for sure if they are on commission but it seems shady to not even point out he different lenses options to your customer. I'm sure many have been ripped off in this manner. Costco optical overall is a great option for fast service minus the deceiving optical man. I ordered on a Thursday afternoon and I got the call to pick up my glasses that Saturday! read more

If you want ok contacts with an ok amount and shitty selection of glasses AND especially lame customer service by all means go here. I thought my appt was at 1030 and showed up at 10:15. The girl who SITSat the desk says that I was late and my appt was at 10. There was nobody there except her lazy butt and the ophthalmologist err i mean optometrist. She said come back later say 1:30 2:pm. I looked around and said nobody is here. Why not see me now. I can't come back. I'm not like one of their grazers that kills their lunch hour by grazing for food/lunch at the end of the aisles. I have a job plus I have to get kids from school. While I said all this the fake eye doctor was playing on her phone looking up at me. I just left. Guess customer service doesn't mean anything. Soooo today my wife comes in for her 530 appt at 520 only to be told come back in 10 and then come back in 15 min. 50 minutes later they finally take my wife. So it's okay to delay us but if we show up 15 min late and no other guests are there to be seen you can't see me. Your place sucks. I think I'll spend the extra money for a real eye doctor read more
