These were refreshing in an area where deep fried food can leave you feeling heavy for hours. The bang bang shrimp were delicious, similar battering and frying with a thai chili style sauce. It is not very spicy, but the problem was deciding on what kidn of salad dressing to get with it on a salad. I recommend not getting the salad and just an order of shrimp with ranch. The salad was romaine and parm shavings. No other vegetables to speak of, but the shrimp was phenomenal. Additionally the lobster comes with butter, wet naps and an additional tray for the shell as you work your way t hrough. A nice setup, a nice view, and good food.

The lobsters were firm shell I believe and tasted great. I have yet to get to the frozen stuffies...but I'm looking forward to it...just wish they were a little closer to me lol

The ambiance is terrible when combined with the pricing. The old Causeway had charm. Rustic unstable tables in a semi clean setting with a terrible unisex bathroom in a non scenec difficult place to get to with limited parking. The old Causeway offered huge portions of fresh fish at a very good price point. It was worth the drive for many in the city or in neighboring towns. I was warned it had gone completely down hill, saw no wait and since we were starving we decided to eat. We did not choose wisely. The prices for most seafood exceeds that of Boston fine dining on the waterfront. The portions are small. The food just not that good. Order at the counter inside their little shop, pay, and head down the little alley (hold on tightly to your stuff so you don't accidentally drop anything enroute) to their back deck with limited seating, and access to their bathrooms. Listen up for your name and they will bring you your food on a tray. A family of three shared the 3 chicken lobsters for $50 during the 2025 season, and a dozen raw oysters for $30. My single lobster was $18. Single oysters $3 apiece. Creamy clam chowder $7. Stuffed clam $3. The $30 cold lobster roll came with cole slaw and a bag of chips. The hot dog roll looked small but was well filled with fresh sweet lobster meat. Her smoked salmon $8 were two thick chunks of fish. My hot in-shell boiled lobster arrived several minutes after, pre-cracked. Carefully poured out the green water, and I went at it. Making use of the sink by the bathroom afterwards to get cleaned up. A delicious way to start our outing to Rockport! BTW parking in the nearby area is paid and seasonal. Head to the kiosk, enter the license plate, pay an affordable price, and stick the slip on your dashboard. Parking tickets are no fun.
