I was a little leery about coming here based on some of the older reviews but I'm really glad we checked it out. The sushi was waaaay better than I expected and was by far my favorite part. I loved being able to try so many kinds without having to eat a whole roll of each. The standard Chinese fair wasn't that great though. I came in for lunch and it was like the slowest time of the day I guess because there were just a few people in there. The place was clean but not too spacious. They offered mostly Chinese food (about 20 items on the trays) plus sushi bar. They all either overcooked, super dried meat or way too oily. Not even one item that tasted ok unfortunately. I've tried a few but didn't like any of them. The sushi rolls weren't fresh and tasted very nasty. Even fruits and deserts seemed like seating there for a long time. I was so disappointed and didn't bother to try anymore. I wasn't happy about the service as well, my soda was empty and no one came to offer a refill. When we were there it was all maki (rolls). Most of it had been under the warming lamps way too long and was hard and crusted. My son had one roll piece that he couldn't eat because it was so hard. Also, the wasabi was in a bowl and was more like a soup. Finally, so you get a good picture of what this place is like, two huge tour busses pulled up half way through our meal. The place was suddenly packed so full they couldn't find seats for everyone. The buffet lines were very long after that but seemed to still move at a tolerable pace. They did have good ice cream. We went in at like 8:50, I know They close at 9:30 but I didnt expect them to stop cooking at 8:50 because they didn't refill empty trays but I wanted that fking shrimps and rice noodles. Fine, I wouldn't be too pissed off because I came here for rice noodle not shrimps. I then asked this poker-face girl if I could order a plate of rice noodle and she nodded me but I ended up getting no fking rice noodle for some reasons that I don't know. Fruits look like they've lived in the refrigerator for couple of days after they were cut. So I was too scared to give them to my kids. Tables and high chair are sticky which is very disgusting. This review is for LUNCH ($8.50 with drink). I am from socal and was craving some sushi. I have to say it was not too shabby! Despite other reviews, there were lots of food out which looked fresh (A few you can tell were sitting there a bit but probably because it's not too popular e.g., garlic toast, Apple turnover). Lots of sushi choices and a lady kept making it! Staff were pretty friendly and seemed attentive to the customers. This was good for me considering my family and I were totally ignored at Chuck O Rama before (felt out of place there as a nonwhite person). I went here yesterday absolutely appalled by everything. 1st . The food had no flavor whatsoever. It was so bland and cold. The service was terrible. Sat us at a dirty table. If you haven't visited recently (late 2018 / early 2019) then you should probably try Ocean Buffet again. Food quality has improved significantly. We were fans of the Ichiban Buffet over in Washington, however we discovered today that restaurant is now a dance studio. So we thought we'd try Ocean again. Surprise! The food was amazing. We were not expecting that. We Enjoyed every bite. The service was great. the people were very very nice! I would recommend eating here. With all this covid stuff going on I was surprised to see they were open for sit down and takeout. HOWEVER I wasn't aware that they made your takeout plate for you. This place is typical of chinese buffets. The food is pretty good and the cost is what you would expect. I have eaten here several times without any issues. I wonder if I was in the same place as some other reviews. Some people have some messed up expectations. Stopped over at St George and I was looking for some Asian food. This restaurant came across with only 3 stars review. I was hesitant at first but since there was no other choice so I decided to try it anyway. Their sushi are top notch compared to other restaurants in this same caliber, very good price. Other food are good as well. The service are exceptional good. I wanted some get some clams, there's a good portion in the tray, but the server told me he'll get me some fresh ones in the kitchen without me requesting or anything. I totally forgot about that, he brought me a bowl to my table 15 minutes later. Good quality steam crab legs which I enjoyed the most (and of course sushi as I mentioned). The restaurant is clean as well. My kids enjoyed the ice cream. I rarely write any review except when I feel like I need to for instance in this case this restaurant need a good review for their food and service, and secondly for travelers like me happened to be in town. read more
