Trying to get a reasonable answer from this place is like being trapped behind a horse in a roundabout. It keeps moving, it keeps producing something, and somehow you are still exactly where you started, only now the air is worse. Help is not really on the menu here. You get rules read over the top of you by people who have already decided listening would be an unnecessary complication. There are rules on the website, rules on the forms, and rules the people on the phone cite with the confidence of a priest rattling Latin at a smoke alarm. None of them appear to match. Point out that the rule being repeated does not apply and they do not stop to consider it. They just repeat it louder. Every person I dealt with was detached and reeked of condescending deafness, armed with a different laminated fragment of whatever policy they decided was in force that day. Their own form asks how many months you want to skip and offers you a 1 or a 2. Pick the 2 and they deny you for picking the 2. All that smiling language about Credit Unions and helping members turns to BS the moment a payment is late. The friendly little facade comes off, and suddenly you are dealing with just another bank that couldn't care less about your financial problem, trust me, make no mistake, because to them? it IS your financial problem. They make it perfectly clear that nothing you say matters unless it's "yes, I can make the payment now." Otherwise it's "let us know when the financial problem goes away." Be careful not to fall into a hole here. What looks like a helping hand may turn out to be a shovel. read more

Banked here for years in Eugene and Salem with no problems . Auto loan ,no problem. The website is pretty good too. Couldnt get a real estate loan though ,they are so picky about income source which is understandable.. read more

There slogan is "meeting you where you are with a tenacious standard of service." When my mother passed away I went in to close her account which she had put me on. They hadn't processed the paperwork and froze her account. I had to bring her death certificate in to prove my authority. Tenacious my foot! Would not recommend. read more

Got my first mortgage with OCCU a few years ago while they had a promotion and had a fairly decent experience. Recently started banking with them for some personal finances as well as some joint finances with my partner. My experiences have been good so far. The local branches have quality customer service including various offerings they have for just being a member such as printing your new debit/credit card the same day in person. My two favorite things is OCCU's ignite savings account and minimal fees for basic banking needs. Overall, I think OCCU is a step above many other large name banks and competitive with other regional banks/credit unions. Definitely a must have for anyone nearby to any of their branches. read more

Do not trust this credit union. They are two faced and will tell you one thing on a Friday and something totally different on the following Monday. When it comes to searching for a reliable loan resource, look elsewhere. It will be less heartache and frustration. I've worked in customer service for over 30 years and been in management for 20 of those years. Someone would be written up if not fired for leading the customer on and then telling them something totally different the following week. read more

DO NOT do business with this credit union. Got a loan, set up automatic payments (didn't realize it until I started to set everything up on website) didn't finish the setup so wasn't worried about it until they took out 2 (TWO) payments on the SAME DAY and then gave us the runaround about getting our money back. Said they would send a certified check (a month ago-still haven't seen it) but then we agreed that occu would just apply that payment to the next due date and cancel the certified check (they never sent out) but low and behold they fn took it out of our account!!!!! When I talked with them the first time I told then they were nothing but THEIVES and this proves it. Still don't know what happened to the money they stole. read more

We had excellent service for our auto loan with Mr. Desmond Reynolds. Desmond is courteous and efficient with out any feeling of being rushed or pressured - he made sure to offer extra security with the gap insurance that I hadn'd remembered to inquire about. while going through the process he was super careful to see to all the important paper work and made copies of any document he thought I might like to have for my and the sellers records without my having to ask. I felt like I had a truely genuine And caring human to work with - he returned my calls, helped to overcome minor paperwork obstacles and saw me promptly when I came in with out an appointment ! If there was a way to add more stars I would - this Is classy service in a small town branch vibe and Mr. Reynolds is the shine and the connection that definitely let me know I made the right choice shopping for an auto loan. 3 cheers Double rainbow kudos and props ALL THE WAY :) read more

The branch manager or assistant branch manager that posted this bullshit response clearly doesn't care about anybody that is not a member of their credit union. They just tell you to get out when you try and tell them it's fucking rediculous to help members only with shared branching and send anybody else out to the atm that NEVER WORKS. oh and nice job telling me it was fucking up and dispensing $50's instead of $20. That's smart to excuse your bad banking practices with atm malfunctions. read more

My transactions are always quick and they are very friendly at this branch. Customer service is top notch when calling in to the main call center. The call center is always able to help me over the phone and fix whatever issue I might be having. read more

I have been doing business with Oregon Community Credit Union for over 20 years and seen some major changes. I really do not have any comments about rates. So low at this point not worth the time. I find their online system so so, mortgage lending questionable, Staff being friendly/competent mix feelings, and Thurston ATM accessibility bad. They have a "ok" on line banking system; however, I encounter several glitches too. The online system says one thing and then another because of a delay in processing transactions. For example, I paid off a personal POC with the amount stated as owed. When I looked at the amount later it says I over paid. The annoying part is you cannot transfer the over payment back into your account. Instead you have to contact them. Their ATM in Thurston area is constantly breaking down or inaccessible when you need it. It is a real pain to do banking at their Springfield office during high peak periods such as lunch time or after work. Used to be not so. I refinance my home through them; got the low interest I wanted "Yahoo." However not sure if I would go through them again. The first guy I worked with disappeared and left no messages. Turns out he was canned and my paperwork went into limbo! I made several calls until finally someone said, "whoops" and I was left with another guy that went the route of overkill. I had to redo all my paperwork and was given more paperwork than initiated during "round 1." He was not so pleasant to do business with and gave the impression my home mortgage was just another problem that he did not want to deal with. Resolving banking needs with OCCU quickly by the phone is a hit and miss. Simple transaction they do great. However, if you lose your card on the weekend your screwed. They will give you a phone number and you will be sent to automation hell. Like I want to push a lot of buttons and speak to someone in Timbuktu when I am frustrated. Try giving them a call about setting up your account into trust bank account and you will discover the true meaning of incompetent. So my conclusion is simple stuff their right on, online system so so, Thurston accessibility not so good, and handling my refinance mortgage "bomb it." For the most part staff members are friendly except for the mortgage dude. OCCU does not nickel and dime you like the other credit unions/banks. I hope they will fix these issues and get back to the standard level that they used to be at. read more
