Do not leave a deposit here unless you get the refund terms clearly in writing. I had a good initial experience test-driving a vehicle at OC Chief Auto and left a $500 deposit/hold on a Model Y I was considering purchasing. My understanding was that the deposit was refundable. More importantly, I have a text message from the salesperson, Joseph, specifically stating, "I'll refund the hold tomorrow." The refund was never issued. When I later realized I had not received the refund, I contacted Joseph multiple times. After the issue remained unresolved, I went to the dealership in person. I was told that too much time had passed for them to process the refund through their system and that Joseph would need to speak with his boss. What happened afterward was the most troubling part of the experience. Joseph called me and, while expressing his frustration with me for continuing to request the refund, used the F-word multiple times during the call. Regardless of whether a dealership believes a customer is entitled to a refund, I don't believe it is appropriate for an employee to call a customer and repeatedly use profanity toward them over a dispute. Joseph has since said that the original hold was only refundable for 48 hours. I do not remember being told that. However, I don't have to rely on my memory regarding his later promise: I have his text stating, "I'll refund the hold tomorrow." When I continued asking about the $500, I was also told to "take a little accountability," that the situation was "on" me, and received laughing emojis after saying I intended to review my experience. At this point, the issue is about more than $500. It's about a written promise to refund money that wasn't honored and, even more concerning to me, the way I was treated when I tried to resolve it. I would strongly recommend getting every term regarding deposits and refunds in writing before leaving money with this dealership. read more

They are going to give you some BS about their website listed prices are not accurate and the owner adjusts the prices based on market condition. I was linked to this dealership through CapitalOne Auto under prequals. Out of the top 10 vehicles I had, none were updated on their website and unavailable. Prior to calling the location, I sent an interest request through Capital One at least on 7 vehicles. Never once called back. Eventually calling in and speaking with Ernie, we went through a few vehicles and continued with moving forward on a hard credit check. From there, I was ghosted. No call back. No follow up. Not even an email. Nor, any options. I chose this location based on the reviews I read about and was completely wrong. My boyfriend and I arrived around 2:30pm. We took a look at one of their teslas and was able to test drive it right away. Once we went inside to go over prices, Joseph was very transparent, no extra hidden fees besides only a $1500 fee for the detailing they do in order to make the used car look brand new. He worked with us and helped us out a lot by lowering the prices straight off the bat. Once we got to the approvals, he personally called his bank connection from the one bank that denied us to try to get them to approve since they had the lowest interest rate. Very disappointed with my experience at OC Chief Auto, especially with the salesperson Ernie. First, we saw cars listed on the OC Chief Auto website and called ahead to confirm availability. Ernie told us the cars were available, but when we arrived at the dealership, they said the cars had already been sold "today." This happened more than once with different vehicles. It felt very misleading and like they were wasting our time. We eventually bought a car from them, but later noticed that one Tesla logo on the front was missing. Ernie promised multiple times that it would be mailed to us, but after many calls, we still never received it. We also did not receive the Tesla USB drive that should have come with the car. Bait and switch. Do not buy here. Sequence of events: called at 7 min prior to closing about two model 3s and was told, verbatim by Nicholas, that "this dealership does not have any extra fees like other dealerships. Yes both vehicles are available. Come see them tomorrow." Today is I went to go see the vehicles and they were suddenly gone. Spent a good hour and a half with Ivan, who had very little knowledge about the cars, the dealership, and the buying process. Decided on a vehicle that was actually $4,000 more than the vehicle we came to see but the quality was very good. We were willing to pay and then sat down with Joseph, who suddenly increased the price by $1,500 for a dealership reconditioning fee. "Every dealer has these fees," Jospeh said. I was furious about making the one-hour drive to this dealership. I will say that their vehicles are in really great condition and you probably can't find a better used Tesla in this area, however. Just like every other dealer, they're using bait and switch tactics to get you in and upsell. Oh actually that reminds me I expanded my price range on their website while I was at the lot and found another Model 3, same year, with 27,000 fewer miles, also $1,000 less than the current vehicle I was looking at. I asked Ivan, "Where is this vehicle?" and he passed it off as slow website updates. The bottom line is they will advertise prices that are within market value but are actually selling above market value once you add in that fee. read more
