One of the BEST Ramenya Shops I've been to. There was a waitress, Kate, who was VERY enthusiastically obsessed about ramen and it was a breath of fresh air to talk to her. Oba always gets my order right 100% of the time and they understand firm noodles. Weekends can be VERY busy as they have a breakfast restaurant and a boba shop so depending on your order, or crowd, it CAN be a long wait to get your order. The price is a bit expensive for my taste for Ramen but that's about average now. Pro Tip: Ask for a side of Butter with your Ramen. read more

Fan-freaking-tastic!!! Who would have thought this small restaurant in the middle of Cottage Grove (famous for Buster Keaton's The General) would have such wonderful, incredible food! The best so far on this trip. I had the seared tuna and, honestly, I thought I was in some costal town where the tuna was just line caught, or Japan! We've been looking around for a good ramen place ever since moving from southern CA to Eugene last fall. Finally found one, and with great prices, especially for the portion sizes! It's a 25 minute drive for this ramen, but it's MUCH better than anything I've found in Eugene, so I'll willingly make the trek again (and again and again). The tonkotsu broth was a little thinner than I would normally expect, but the menu highlights that it's a pork and chicken broth (possibly to cut down on cost?). Still it was a fairly rich broth that got me most of the way there. The chashu, bamboo, marinated egg, and other toppings were well prepared and hit just right. The shoyu ramen was also really tasty, and tasted closer to what I expected than the tonkotsu broth did. read more

The menu is simple & an ordering grid was provided. It was a unique & fun experience. We also order gyoza & spring rolls to share with our group & they were also scrumptious! Bottled Fanta & an oohlong boba tea complimented the food. The four of us ate for $45. Went with a group of six on a Sunday night. I found the ordering process kind of fun and pretty easy, but I see other reviewers found it difficult and time consuming. My vegetable broth ramen was very flavorful and creamy. More flavorful than the tonkatsu ramen. I enjoyed my $7 small size ramen but it wasn't as memorable as I hope it would be. The broth was just warm and the noodles very hot. The cha siu was good, but not great. Others in my party added mushrooms and garlic chips. I hope that more vegetables would be a default option in the ramen. My friend liked the donburi bowl, if was HUGE for $9. Hope to try the sukiyaki Sunday one day. I liked the long cafeteria style tables in the shop. It felt comfortable and casual. The waitress was friendly and helpful. All our food came out at the appropriate time together. In the end, you pay at the cash register after you're done eating. I am happy to see CG has a ramen shop and hope it improves to be a more memorable experience! read more

This is a real find. We live in Eugene and have been twice: and we will be back! We had the Tonkotsu ramen on both trips and also had the gyoza on our second visit. Absolutely fantastic. We have lived in many places with good ramen, but this is top notch. The broth just seems to get better with every bite. (Slurp?) Noodles have a nice texture. There's quite a nice selection on the menu board, and we want to come back to try more. Service is super friendly, consistent, and helpful. It's a modest place in a strip mall, but very comfortable. Nice mural on the wall. Fellow patrons have been in good spirits: they know they are in good hands. Wow! This is getting 3 stars because I'm giving credit to the attempt to do ramen in Cottage Grove. The restaurant has a nice modern vibe, the service was great, and the paper ordering system wasn't a problem. There weren't many parking spaces, but they turned over quickly because the store next door is a marijuana dispensary. Essentially, the broth isn't great, the noodles were clumped together and difficult to pull out of the bowl, and the price to add in ingredients that should be standard is outrageous. And don't get me started on having to spend even more money to buy additional flavor for the bland broth. To make matters worse, the purchased add-ins were brought to our table cold before getting the soup (like from a fridge cold), and not added to the soup beforehand. So you're putting expensive cold mushrooms and corn and eggs into hot soup. We also ordered the fried rice, and while it was presented nicely, it had literally zero flavor and tasted like cooking oil. This was the most disappointing restaurant experience I've had in awhile. read more

An over-achieving storefront restaurant with excellent flavorful food and a wide range of choices. Everything I've had here has been good. This time I had the shoyu ramen bowl with added spinach, delish. Many other dishes, specials, and sides are available. Five types of broth (including vegetarian), and five custom "flavor bombs" like curry or black garlic. My favorite place in Cottage Grove, and a great stop if you're on I-5. My partner and I discovered this place through word of mouth just last week... we returned a few days later because it's SO DELICIOUS. I always have ramen on the mind when we travel and out of about 5 ramen places we have been to this year I have to say this is the best hands down. So many great little options and additions. I'm sure I'll go again tomorrow. I don't even care that it's nearly 30 minutes away. I really dig ramen. In a town filled with pretty much just American food I was thrilled to see a ramen restaurant open up. As of my visit it had been open less than a month. They have four different broths to choose from that includes a vegan broth and loads of options for add ins all at a very reasonable price. There's also an option for udon noodles in beef broth. I chose the ramen with the shoyu broth, added a bit of spinach, bok choy and shiitake mushrooms and it was perfection. The noodles were perfection too. Thanks to a sign heading north off the 5 freeway, my husband and I discovered this little ramen spot. From the moment we walked in we had a wonderful and delicious experience. The young lady was welcoming, polite, and helpful on explaining how to order the ramen since it was our first time here. For an appetizer we order the chicken gyoza. Comes with 5 pieces. Little bites of deliciousness! I like when the gyoza is soft on the outside instead of it being crispy. For our entrees, we both ordered their special, Poke bowl, which had tuna. And the Lomi Lomi bowl, which had salmon. They were both excellent, flavorful, and filling. They gave a substantial amount of fish on both bowls. My husband also ordered ramen. Shoyu broth, cha shu pork, and extra noodles. The broth tasted homemade and it was so smooth to drink. Wasn't overly salty and didn't taste like MSG garbage like some other ramen places use. This was definitely one of the best ramen places we have been to. It's a small slightly dingy restaurant with a small parking lot but don't let that discourage you. Fantastic Japanese restaurant in Cottage Grove! It's located on a quaint downtown street in a cute little complex across from its own Boba/Ice Cream shop, an antique store, and old-fashioned barbershop. We stopped here on our way to Seattle from San Francisco and it was such a wonderful oasis. The Ramen was so delicious - my husband had the Tonkatsu and I had the vegetarian. The noodles were perfectly chewy, and the toppings deliciously seasoned. We also had green tea which was served in a pot. It was high-quality looseleaf tea. Our son had the crispy fried chicken, which was served with rice and salad and he absolutely devoured it, although he's an especially picky eater! It was served with two delicious sauces. My husband tried to take some of his and there might've been a little fight. The service was outstanding. I'm already looking forward to the drive back down when we will stop here again! read more
