My husband underwent surgery for a brain tumor, and the chemotherapy and radiation treatments that…read morefollowed were incredibly challenging for him. Before scheduling his first massage, I contacted Opulent to discuss his specific needs and how massage therapy could support his recovery. We needed to ensure that certain areas were avoided and that only unscented oils and products were used. The team listened carefully and accommodated every request exactly as discussed. Since then, we have been coming in weekly, and the difference has been remarkable. The massages have helped him feel significantly better and have made the treatments he is enduring much more manageable. Everyone at Opulent is compassionate, attentive, and genuinely dedicated to their clients' well-being. Their caring approach, combined with their exceptional skill, has been a tremendous source of comfort during a very difficult time.

Every time the experience is very therapeutic, followed by a sense of relaxation and serenity. Todd, the co-owner, and his assistant, Steven, went the extra mile for our body massage. Both my husband and I had some tight shoulders and I had some lower back sciatic nerve pain, and Todd maneuvered the tightness with precision. My husband said that Steven kneaded him like clay, but in a very good way. The customer service is very good and considerate. I've had the experience and, after reading other reviews, I've read that some had the same experience in which the busy owner stepped out and Steven was the only one at the front desk. It is advised to have some patience because Steven speaks Mandarin and uses a translator app on his phone. Occasionally, they are short staffed and Todd needs to step out, and he also has another location (I believe in Lawrence). I came in once with a Groupon coupon and it was a bit jarring and confusing not knowing what was going on because Steven didn't say anything to me but depended on the app. All was well explained after speaking with the owner. The place is very serene, comfortable and with good relaxing music. The rates are also reasonable for the care given.

I really love Zen Massage!!…read more I tried a few other places in town, and this one is for me. My therapist here is absolutely amazing! I'm not going to mention their name because I don't want them to get so busy that I can't get in. They have male and female therapist here in case you have a preference. There are no memberships or pressure tactics like that other chain massage place. And they have good availability in multiple therapists, unlike a one person shop. They're in a nice shopping plaza with several restaurants and other businesses in case you need stuff after your massage. They are very good at communication via email and text and phone. I am very pleased with Zen Massage.

Husband and I came in for massages. My experience was not favorable. I paid for deep tissue…read more Started off ok, but then became mostly a rub down. I think the worst thing was that I wore my hair up in a bun, and MT asked if I wanted to wear it down. I specifically said no and made it clear that I didn't want oil in my hair. Later on she literally rubbed oil (which smelled terrible) completely through my hair and then lathered it onto my face. At the end, without any warning, threw a very hot towel on my back. Had she told me it would not have been so shocking. With all the good ratings I was disappointed in the quality of massage and then walking away like a grease pit. I only give it a maybe because maybe there is someone better.

This is a big deal because I'm really ticklish in the the angel wing/shoulders area, and she was able to work on me without me cringing away. I feel so much more balanced, calm and relaxed. The room itself was very comfortable: heated table, good head support, lovely ambiance with soothing music and super cute lobby too. And she offers incredible massage specials! While it is not cheap, it's worth it. You get ushered back to the bathroom to change. You have your own locker that you can put all your stuff in and lock, so very secure. Very nice bathrobe and sandals to put on and then you go into a waiting room. Very calm and serene. A couple of different flavored waters to choose from and snacks if you're so inclined. Waited in there about 10 mins (you can bring your phone but come on people - you're here to relax. Put the flipping thing in the locker. You can disconnect for an hour). My masseuse came and collected me and ushered me to a nice quiet room. She listened to what I wanted her to do and left me to get under the sheets. The room was nice and warm and I was never cold. The massage was WONDERFUL. I needed a deep tissue and she delivered. Within 2 days my shoulder and neck were worlds better. After the massage they take you back to the bathroom. I super appreciate that there is a shower. The only downside of massage is having that oil all over you and getting dressed again. Loved the shower - very clean and great towels. Highly recommend and will return!
