Great sausage, Good brisket. I mentioned to 3 individual employees I'd like to buy a to go soda. 3 employees acknowledged me but never made an effort to assist me. The manager was no where to be found. She was the only person who had access to cash. When she did arrive, she had to leave again to locate the cash box. She returned a few minutes later with the cash box. It took entirely too long to buy a $ 2.70 soda. The manager had to be brought up to take my payment. It took Almost 10 minutes to get a soda. Unprofessional service and incompetent service during the last few minutes of my visit. The last few minutes involved someone taking money for a to go drink. Pathetic. read more

Oh my gosh, the food is so good the brussels sprouts, the mac & cheese, the bread pudding, the turkey! Notice I have not mentioned anything of a traditional barbecue genre because I don't like barbecue but yet I will come back to this restaurant. For those that did eat the brisket, the pork ribs, etc. they said it was excellent. Go even if you don't like barbecue, you'll find something you like here. read more

Let me start with the atmosphere, this feels like a a great bit of high end meets casual bbq spot! So bring the kids or make it a date night, but definitely try this place. The prime brisket is great (if you add the bbq sauce you make it amazing) the burnt ends/tips are also very good but I wouldn't mind some caramelization... the bread pudding is amazing and can be shared by 3 people so don't miss it! Make sure to get the cream and sauce for it also! The one thing I was not a fan of was the Brussel sprouts... they just felt they needed to be cooked a bit more. Great service and extremely fast, just don't expect to save much money as it is not cheap bbq! read more

I was not impressed with any of the food. I test my barbecue by the need to use barbecue sauce. And here the food definitely needed barbecue sauce, but I didn't even like the barbecue sauce. Everything I had tasted like it was cooked or marinated in vinegar. Even the fries were bland. This one is a no go for me. read more

In Dallas for boys trip and decided to try Oak'd after a round of golf. We were all starving. We tried beef brisket, pork butt, beef rib and burnt ends. Disappointment would be an understatement. Whooooee! This place is a true BBQ find. Fantastic brisket. And the sides were traditional, but elevated. For example, the Cole slaw isn't dressed until it is ordered. Leaves it crisp. Holy crap, how has this place been open for a few months and I had no idea till this past weekend? For sure a new regular customer. The moment you walk in you're greeted by not only friendly staff and a very chill bbq ambiance, but also your hit with the amazing aroma of some damn good bbq that I can only imagine has been cooking for hours cause the brisket meted in my mouth but had all its flavor still and was so good. That along with the fire mac n cheese, really good priced happy hour menu and drinks made this visit worth it but the crown gem had to been Kacy behind the bar. She was the sweetest and probably funniest bartender I've had in a long time, and her being crazy attractive is a huge plus but it's a food review so if we are talking service, I'd say 12/10 easy. Ribs were very sparse on meat and I was not fond of the rub; I thought the jalapeno sausage was ok, but my husband did not like it. Sides were marginal- we had beans, mac and cheese, squash and potato salad, of which the beans were by far the best and they are never my go to for sides. The prices were high for what you get, and they want you to tip when you have to go through a serving line AND bus your own table. The inside decor was nice but it was very cold in the dining room on the day we went (outside temp 45). Would not recommend when there are so many great bbq joints in Dallas! read more

Place looks really nice on the inside, but the worst BBQ I've ever had. Not really sure how you can mess up BBQ, but all meat was flavorless, odd side choices (no fried okra, no mash'd potatoes). If getting meat, it only goes in 1/2 pounds, no quarter pound unless you get a 2 meat plate which is $26. Staff was super nice, but that's the only good thing. read more

First, the staff are really nice. They even helped one of my coworkers who hurt her ankle, got her some ice and ibuprofen. For context on the food, I have been all over Texas sampling barbecue. I got a Wagyu brisket sandwich, burnt ends, side of orzo salad, and four cheese Mac and cheese. Some of the best restaurant Mac and cheese I've had, orzo salad was pretty good. Brisket was kind of flavorless, needed more/better rub. No smoke ring to speak of. Burnt ends out the burnt in burnt ends. Sad that too many places fall into this trap. Another coworker got one of the brisket stuffed, jalapeños, the chopped brisket in there was much better than what I had on my sandwich (go figure) and the jalapeño was huge. The steak fries he got were huge, too. A friend who went with me got their bread pudding, and though I'm not really a dessert guy, this was pretty dang good! I think I'll go back to sample more of the menu and enjoy the sides, but I'll probably skip the not-worth-the-price brisket. read more

Service was good and the amount of food you get for the price was decent. Turkey was dry and lacked that smokey flavor I was looking for but everything else on my plate was serviceable. Unfortunately they didn't serve Bud Light products because of some outdated and ignorant beliefs, so if you're looking for an inclusive and welcoming atmosphere this probably isn't it. read more

Terrible! Waste of time and money. I went there for the 4th of July and it was a scam. The pre-purchased ticket for food was cafetria style juk. Greasy, fatty and poor quality meats and sides. Rude staff when we tried to explain our disappointment. Then they charge you $50.00 for a parking spot to watch the fireworks and it took over an hour to get out because managment failed to assist its customers in exiting their lot. Moreover, closed businesses up and down the street were open for parking for free!!! read more

I think I came here on what was a "slow day". Nonetheless, the cooking staff in the back were extremely friendly to me. I did leave without any sauce for my barbecue, but that could have been a mistake of my own as they did ask if I had any, and I assumed it was already in the bag. Was so excited for this place to open, hoping for a great bbq restaurant which Addison just doesn't have. The bar area was nice with decent happy hour specials. The reason for the three stars is just the food. The brisket and sausage where both dry and overdone. The bark was nice so there is potential.. the sides were ok but nothing to write home about. Really need to work ok mastering the bbq for this place to take off. Service was pretty good and it was clear an owner or manager was watching. I'll give it another shot in 3-6mo. read more

The Addison location is very open and inviting and the service was good. I stopped in for a quick pick up (brisket, sausage and some sides) and while I wasn't disappointed I wasn't wowed either. I paid $23 for one sandwhich, and when I got it back to work to eat it - it was loaded with huge straps of fat, the meat that WAS edible was just tiny tiny shavings. The sauce is the worst I think I've ever had at a restaurant. Very sad; this is a new place and I was really hoping it would be good. The brisket was cut into cube sized pieces. Never had brisket cut like that. The meat was dry. The bread pudding was burned at the bottom and not cooked all the way. I cut it down the center and it was raw in the middle. There are better options out there. This is not one of them. Overpriced, small portions and dry meat. read more

I generally do not write reviews...because I think the really good ones are written by ownership...the bad ones are usually somebody that had a bad interaction with a staff member. I am writing this one as a one ( no option for ZERO ) because simply...the food was not good at all. BBQ brisket tasted like day old pot roast. Cole slaw was without any flavor other than raw cabbage. Cauliflower was without any redeeming qualities. Brussel sprouts were just short of a pureed slop. Baked potato...generally hard to screw up was the best part of the meal...but outside was way over coated with salt. Frankly... nothing good at at all about this place....and I won't waste time on the cleanliness...or the fact that the guy cutting the brisket had zero clue about moist vs fatty vs lean or even which way the grain was. STAY AWAY or just get snacks at 7-11 for a better meal. read more
