Really appreciated the service here this week. I went to a competitor for a check engine light diagnostic a week or two ago, and they handed me the printout and I didn't know what to do. It had primary and secondary codes, and that was the end of the transaction. The light turned off, then on again this week dominant to O' Reilly's instead. The man at the counter printed the diagnostic, then without any provocation from me, explained what the issue likely was based on experience, what to try first, the parts I'd need, and the tool I could borrow to get it done. He walked me to my vehicle and showed me exactly where the part was located and how it was attached so I could get a sense for myself what would be involved in doing the fix ourselves. Online order was easy. Needed a headlight today. Easy access in and out right on Crystal Falls. Got my confirmation email, my order was ready. Friendly greeting as I walked in the door. Gave them my name and he went and grabbed my headlight. Only hiccup was on my end not realizing I ordered a high beam light versus a low light that I needed. read more

I need a specialty socket one that is not a normal size. I couldn't find it at Lowe's. I could not find it in my own said, but O'Reillys actually had one in stock. Unfortunate surprise was the price $14 after tax for a single socket. Do you think something like this would cost eight dollars. If I had bought it at Lowe's it would have. I was sent here by several mechanics who informed me that there is equipment that places like Auto Zone and O'Reilly's carry and it is quick and easy to test the headlights voltage before replacing my headlight again. On the window it says FREE ELECTRICAL testing and yet the gentleman very rudely told me "we aren't a mechanic shop, we can't help you." He had NO courtesy, started being racist about someone in the shop that could HEAR him and he was swearing up a storm and dropping the F bomb every 30 seconds. Wow! Very very professional. I went in today, May 14, 2025, at 11 am asking for a quick battery test because my vehicle had to be jumped twice before going to work. The gentleman, reluctant to help me, said, "You're going to have to wait. I need to handle some things." I told him that was fine. He then asked what make and model I had. Upon finding out, he asked me if the battery is under the hood or in the seat. It's under the hood. He looked it up and then told me it would take time to test that type of battery, and he wouldn't have that time. He told me that I needed to take it to a shop because of the difficulty of testing it. With no help from him, he didn't even go outside to look at my vehicle, a Chevy Equinox. I left and went to ADVANCED AUTO PARTS, and it took them 5 minutes to come out and test my battery. You, sir, should be ashamed of your lack of care and assistance; that's your job! Went in for a simple pigtail. Guy was on his phone when I walked in browsing and I inconvenienced him lol. It took him awhile to focus in where he was at, super unfriendly and then when he does gain his whereabouts the phone rings and helps them while I wait for 5 mins. Service at any auto parts location can vary depending on who waits on you and how busy the store is. I got excellent CS here today. The manager went the extra mile to be helpful. I came here after the WORST treatment ever by a smirking uncaring group of idiots at the nearby Autozone. I have rec'd decent CS from that store in the past, so once again it really depends on who and when, but I will never enter the Leander Autozone again. Try O'Reilly first if you are near the Leander Lowes. read more

I have been thinking of how much I will be spending at ford dealership. He just saved me lots of money and I'm grateful. The guy basically did not want to assist me to determine if my battery (purchased a few months ago) just needed a charge to see if it might still be good. He just pushed to sell a new one. I can't believe the bad reviews here. I guess I lucked out today when I went in and Liz was there to help me out. I went in for a dying battery and there was no problem with her testing it. She then informed me that I had a five year warranty on this interstate battery and I should go to Firestone because they service that brand. Firestone down the street sucked and I ended up going back and buying the battery from Liz. She went out of her way and did not make me feel stupid with the questions that I asked. Rude and not helpful- my husband went here to purchase a small part for his car. As he was looking, 3 employees walked by and not one acknowledged him. Finally he went to the counter. Two employees- neither acknowledged his presence. Finally one rudely told the other "Help that guy." He asked for the part, they told him the only place to buy it was the dealership. They did not even look to see if they carry it. They were rude through this whole interaction. He walked out, drove to Advanced Auto Parts down the street, where the employees acknowledged him immediately, and found the part for him right away, for under $6. I give Oreilly 1 star, only b/c I have to give them one to leave a review. Do not waste your time here, go to Advanced or Auto Zone, where the employees are willing to actually help the customers. read more
