I really appreciate the assistance I received in testing and replacing my battery.  With the summer heat,  my battery was giving up the ghost.  The staff member to assisted me willingly handled the exchange. I knew my air filter wasn't looking so good either, so I was picking up a new one.  He offered to install it, too. It was nice avoiding that hassle and having to deal with disposal. I had to jumpstart my mother-in-law's car three times in the last two weeks. So the last time I had to jumpstart it I drove it over to AutoZone. They offer free battery testing and confirmed my suspicion that the battery was shot. We went inside and the manager went over the different options for her Camry, explaining the different price points and variations. He then quickly and installed the battery also free of charge. What part of the car is the laziest? The wheels, because they are always tired. I have been to this location numerous times and I have gotten great service. I know that it is a national chain but that doesn't mean that the national chains have the best workers in every location. The guys have been pretty friendly when I've been here and happy to help. As a business Owner myself and being familiar with dealing with shortcomings as an organization at times, I like to be much more understanding with sometimes poor customer service from time to time as it is not easy being a manager and taking care of every customer as perfectly as I would like. We purchased front and rear set of rotors for our company towing vehicle which is a DRW F350 ($1,100+ value) back in September but ended up selling the vehicle so we attempted to return the items to the Cedar Park Store prior to the 90 day no return policy date, however, after waiting 2 hours as the CP store manager to help me the employee assisting me the staff at the store could not find the transaction in their system, I had to go to a meeting I had scheduled so I left thinking I'd be able to come back with the items and return them. I thought I'd try a different store but wanted to call in so I didn't waste another 2 hours. The employee that I spoke with on the phone said that we should have no issue returning the items and to just "bring them in" without asking when we purchased, looking the transaction up, ect so I pack the oversized rotors and brought them in with me just for the manager to immediately (without finding the transaction) tell me they are not within the 90 day return policy duration but that he would ask the employee if he could do something. The employee I spoke with on the phone came to the front with no solution. The Manager stated multiple times abrasively with the audience, of other customers that "Rules are Rules". At this point I was just tired of beating a dead horse and felt defeated so we left. We buy over 10k worth of parts annually for our business and personal vehicles so we will be taking our business elsewhere and I recommend you all do the same. read more

Wife went into auto zone in leander. They were rude and said they had the part so my wife paid for part figuring they would find it but they were still rude. Three days later even though my wife paid for it on an item they had in stock. Wife took her money back went to cedar park auto zone they found it immediately. Don't go to auto zone they are unorganized and rude. No wonder with ratings! read more

I enjoy helping my husband fix up his Jeep. I've been here twice and each time the customer service has been lackluster. When standing at the counter and waiting for help, two associates walked past and didn't ask if we needed assistance. Today was different, though. We were greeted with a hello and how can I help you. The customer service was very good and we walked away with a positive feeling about the place, hence the 3 stars. Maybe my next visit will be just as good. I didn't catch his name but there is an older man at this location (red mark on his right cheek) who is absolutely no help at all! I went to see about my check engine light and he was trying to get me to do it by myself and made a whole deal about it when I asked if he could do it, he then proceeded to make comments basically about how I am dumb for not knowing what certain wires are in my car. Then, when we got back inside to see what the check engine light was for, he silently plugged in the reader and simply turned the screen at me like I knew what I was looking at. I had to ask him to tell me what any of it meant and he had an attitude the whole time and didn't even explain what it was or what was wrong with it. He simply said that I can't fix it on my own and I have to take it to a mechanic. After further looking into it, I absolutely can fix it on my own and it will be super easy to do. This is super unfortunate because I have been to this location before and had help from an older man with a handle bar mustache and he was AMAZING! If you come here, make sure to work with handle bar mustache guy, and not red mark on face guy! read more

I requested help for finding a simple cap for a brake reservoir cover. The guy sitting on the stool behind the register who wouldn't even stand up; does a quick look on computer and then says " I don't know, we may not have that; but you can look on aisle seven". My response is "no thanks, I'll go try O'Reilly or A-Line. and see if they care enough to get off their butt look a little deeper ask a few more questions or see if they can assist a little further rather than just dismiss me for the next customer in line. I had the worst experience at any retail store in my life ever! I was treated like shit the minute i walked into the store. I understand they cannot help me without a receipt but theres no reason to be an asshole about it or be a smartass. Ive been a loyal customer of Autozone for 20+ years but after this experience i will never return again. The person who tried not to help me should've never gotten a sell/service position ever, he even tried to imply that they didn't carry the product i tried to return. Every once in a while, I get this feeling that I am Superwoman. When this delusion hits me, I tend to believe that I can do absolutely anything. Sometimes I can, and sometimes I can't. The wallpaper came out fine, but the closet shelf sags in the middle. Luckily this feeling of total superiority rarely strikes with car repairs, but it did with a vengeance recently, when the quicky oil change guys said I needed new wiper blades. Did I listen and just tell them to do it....naw, that would have been too simple. Superwoman decided she could change her own wiper blades and off to the autoparts store she went. Dumb move. Luckily, the guy at the autoparts store was Superman. He helped me to find the right size wiper blade. It was a chore because I've got a crazy car with three wiper blades, all of different lengths. I'm thinking some auto engineer is going to hell for that one. Well, right blades in hand, I realized I had just bought something that I had no idea what to do with. Superman to the rescue. He went outside to my car and showed me how to remove the old blades and how to put the new ones in. Then he took the packaging and old blades to throw away for me. Now that's my idea a good service! read more

My vehicle's battery wouldn't hold a charge so I stopped by to get it tested (for free). Alternator tested good but the battery needed to be replaced. I bought a new one, expecting to take it home and swap it out, but they offered to install it (for free) so I let them save me the time and effort. They cleaned up my old connections and had the new one secured in minutes while I didn't even have to break a sweat. Thanks guys! read more

I took a dead truck battery in for charging & testing - got it charged & tested & received the information I needed to know. There was no push to dispose of the battery (purchased a few months ago) to buy a new one there - as I experienced at the other auto parts store. I chose Autozone based on them doing curbside and from being a customer for 20 plus years. I have a baby and wife that are high risk so I choose curb side. I don't expect others to lockdown for me. I take keeping them safe as my own responsibility and do so by utilizing curb side pick ups for time being. This location refused to do curbside once I arrived. Bought headlights and was told they had a 30day in store warranty and 12mos by mfg. They burned out within 2 weeks. Bought replacements that were a different brand no issues. Went to return bad bulbs and they would not refund my money. Absolute worst treatment by any manager. Tim the assistant mgr basically told me I had two options. One was to exchange which I have no need for them. Two was to go home with nothing. He walked off. Alfred the mgr in charge said he could refund my money if it wasn't a MasterCard. It's a discover card as I show him on the receipt. He blames it was charged as a MasterCard which is not my issue. He tells me exchange them or go home and then walks off to help another customer. I don't see how this store stays in business with the way it treats it's customers. read more

Absolutely the worst customer service. Literally every single employee either hates their job or acts like they hate it. Honestly have never seen such poor service provided. People stand backed up in line for so long that they start to leave. Then the worst is, why they are standing in line...other employees are standing around and doing nothing to help. They don't even say anything to the people walking out! They just stare at them as they leave! They stare as if they are glad there is one less person to deal with. WHAT THE HELL!? read more

The staff here are always helpful. These guys don't always have what I am looking for, but when they don't they are quick to point out the spot where I need to go to get it. Most auto part stores that I have been to won't do that. I have even seen them giving good advice and information to people who had no clue what they were doing. Great helpful guys! I was helped my last visit by the manager himself. Great service. He explained that the almost new battery, purchased elsewhere, was bad and why it was bad. He examined the battery to let me know that it was still under warrantee so to take it back to where I purchased it for a replacement. Autozone did not lose business though. The left liftgate/shock went out suddenly one afternoon on my Mazda van and the big heavy back door came down on me! I never realized how heavy a back door for a van was. I arrived at Autozone Leander and although the part was not in stock, I was able to receive within 24 hours, and I ordered a new left and right, so that they would both be new and safe. Upon my arrival to pick up the part, I asked the store manager if there was any special tool required to install the shocks. AutoZone Leander just lost my business today. I own and maintain four older model vehicles, so was a regular DIY customer dropping a considerable amount of cash into AZ's coffers each year. Until today. I bought a set of Bosch plug wires ($61.99) for my 2002 Suburban earlier today, but could only complete the transaction after Rodney overrode the system which demanded my phone number. I don't give out my cell number. I later decided to replace the plugs and wires on my 2006 Suburban as well, so returned to AZ. A different clerk waited on me this time. The parts were on the counter and I was ready to pay when he asked for my phone number. I told him "I don't give out my phone number". He said, "A phone number was required for the warranty". I told him I will just keep the receipt and use that for reference if I need to exercise the warranty. He insisted that he must have my phone number. I told him I bought another set of wires earlier in the day and that he can override the requirement. He was indignant that someone had deviated from the process, and tried to confirm with the other clerk who had waited on me earlier. He came back to the counter and insisted that I must give him my phone number. Here I am, a ready, willing and able cash-paying customer, and this clerk is more concerned about getting my phone number than taking my money ($120). I finally asked him, "You have to have my phone number to complete a transaction?" He replied, "Yes". I said, "Well, then you don't need my business." And walked out. I have lived in Leander over 23 years and try to give Leander merchants (even chains/franchises like AZ) my business whenever possible. However, when a merchant is more concerned about collecting data on me and my buying habits than they are in providing a service or product and wanting payment for that service or product, it is time to shop elsewhere. read more

Went to return a set of lifetime warranty brake pads that I waited to long to change, and buy 2 new rotors. Was told they would not cover the brake pads because I ran them to the metal. Had I brought them in with a little pad still left on them they would have covered them.. So they lost my business over a set of $38 brake pads when I was already spending over $200 on rotors.. And have spent a lot of money there in the past.. I sure would not have that kind of clown managing my store.. read more

When you get a price over the phone and it's an "out the door price," MAKE SURE you get the salespersons name. I didn't and was charged $25 more. I was so irritated and shocked. A very kind, sweet saleswoman gave me a discount. It was still $4.00 more than what I was quoted, but at least it wasn't as much as the full price. read more
