Brought my truck in thinking it needed a new battery. They installed one and off I go. Within 5…read moreminutes the battery light illuminated on the dash and I noticed the discharge needle well into the negative range. I called them and was told this was normal with a new battery as it "learned" a new vehicle. I was told to drive it about 20 miles and all would be OK. My wife got stranded in the middle of a 4 lane highway. The truck required towing to a mechanic. Found the voltage regulator failing. They insisted that any reputable battery dealer would have checked that when installing a new battery. I called Interstate back and was told, "You didn't ask us to check the system". Not good.

Absolutely terrible! Their system can't even keep an accurate inventory! This day in age and you…read morecan't simply count the 10 spots in your small store of what you have and what you don't and then type it in your system so say we have X amount of battery A, X amount of battery B and so on! I got this lame excuse of "Oh, our system doesn't update our inventory until the core comes back." What kind of dumb as system is that?!?! Correct me if I'm wrong, and let me bring in everybody's SECOND GRADE TEACHER that taught us, if the man has 10 batteries in his store and one customer buys one battery and leaves the store with one battery, how many batteries does the man have in his store now?!?!?! I guess THAT math is too complicated to code into their system but they took the time to write a program cannot subtract a battery from their inventory when someone purchases one and leaves the store with it. Batteries Plus is a joke and they are all franchises, so that is a reflection of the owner of this franchise.

The man working the front desk was extremely attentive and fast. When he was done changing the battery, he told me to go to my car and check to make sure it worked and that the alert on my dashboard was gone. I came back in, paid, and was on my way. It's rare to find good, fast customer service these days!

Asked me to pay for new battery. I did pay them for a new battery. While I was on my phone, they gave me my watch back, charged me, and said that they have replaced the battery. The watch stopped after two hours. I went there today. And they told me the watch has old seiko factory installed battery. But I bought a new battery from them yesterday and lid for it. So yesterday while I was on my phone, he charged me for new battery, but knowingly on purpose did not out the new battery but put the old battery in. Today the employee/owner told me that he does not have time to discuss this issue with me since he is going for lunch. These people are thieves, they do this intentionally. Dont do any business with them. Their business model is to sell you life time warranty for more money. Knowingly very well that they will not honor it and the customer will be forced to pay again. That's their business model. They know this very well. If you have had the same issues, please post your experience. While I am not worried about the amount. I wanted to bring it to everyone's notice that I did not know that this kind of dishonesty exists today.

I am not one to trash businesses, but my experience at O'Reilly Auto Parts this morning on Story…read moreRd. was very disappointing. While doing a routine oil change, I bought an air filter--their brand, Microgaurd--from this store about a week and a half ago. It was the wrong filter, and I couldn't return it right away because my Jeep was towed (bad alternator). When I did finally get around to returning the filter, and buying the right one, Chris, the store manager, wouldn't take the return without a receipt. Again, this was their mistake to begin with, and it was their brand of filter. Now I get it, his system was not registering the sale of that filter for the past three months, and I didn't have a phone number associated with the sale. But there WAS one of those filters (the wrong one) missing in his system. The long and the short of it is that Chris couldn't make the judgment that I wasn't conducting some elaborate scheme to steal $12 dollars from O'Reilly Auto parts without a receipt. This is an example of being unable to break out of a bureaucratic system and have a relationship with your customers. They made a mistake, I had to return to their store to correct that mistake, and because their system wasn't registering their mistake (again, that is their problem) I am out $12. I know: it's just twelve dollars, and my kids aren't going to starve. But I have already told my friends to stay away from O'Reilly Auto Parts, and I won't shop there again. I'll go somewhere where I can make a joke with the man behind the counter, and where they will treat me less like a thief, and more like a customer. There are plenty of other games in town.
